Hi there Michal, I realise it's a old video and with the LD, could you possibly explain the difference in the shock pistons and how to choose the right ones for different track conditions. Really nice video to and excellent descriptions. Cheers Neale
would also know about the pistons in diferent conditions as pistons holes and hole size is like black magic.
Thank you Michal, I race on Astro turf in the uk all the time and this is the most useful tutorial I’ve seen so far on RUclips. It’s also good to know I am doing most of my setup correctly, but was never sure about diff height, will lower it in the wet from now on. Have never gone as high as 20mm ride height in the wet either, will give it a try.(when we are able to again) 👍
Great to hear mate. When the astro turf is wet, there is literally no grip, so going that high can not hurt You.
Great video again, thanks for all the hard work you put in them. We are allready racing here in Czech and I have a local asto track 20 mins away so im trying to practice whenever i can. I feel pretty confident in dry, but wet advice is exactly what i needed. But as allways its all about practice, and trying to find what suits me. Its allways a blast watching you, at mibo for example. Your driving style looks so calm compared to everyone else, but its hella quick.
Great to hear Martin. Thank You for Your support and have fun practicing. I am just enjoying myself on the track as always 👍
Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your racing knowledge in the Pro level. 👍👍👍
My pleasure!
Great video Michal! Problem-solution video's are very helpful, thanks!
Great to hear buddy!
You're getting much much better at your presentation, well done!!!
Thank You, I am trying!
Excellent as always young man, great info on astro turf, this info I needed! thanks Champ.
My pleasure buddy. Are You able to practice yet?
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing going this weekend indoor dirt, Can't wait! only 10 at a time but we will get some racing done.
That’s great to hear dude! I wish You the best of luck!
Thank you. Top 👍
Thank You Rene!
Great Video Michal
Thank You Mati! I am extremely happy, that You have spent Your valuable time watching it. I’m glad You enjoyed it.
Michal Orlowski Racing My brother i watched full video to make your stats better :DD
Very nice! You are the best!
Michal Orlowski Racing yessssirrr
Hi! Great tips from a professional driver. Sway bars? Is changing to thinner good for wet an thicker for dry? Thanks
Very good video!
Thanks Daniel! Are You excited to go racing soon?
Can't wait to get back racing but I think that in Austria (I am from Austria but most races I attend are in Switzerland) and Switzerland races are not permitted before the end of July. In the mean while I should use the time to practice because this is allowed already and my club in Austria has opened again. I should practice the noticing of changes at the car because that is what I am not good at currently. Maybe you have any tips on this?
Try to concentrate on what You would like more from the car. When we are at a race we concentrate on driving the fastest we can and sometimes are not able to point out what we need from the car. When You are practicing You can concentrate on the car, maybe You will be a bit slower, but You can improve your car
Thanks for the adivce Michal!
No worries!
Hey Michal, is there a big difference between using the KD gearbox vs the Laydown with added rear brass weights for loose dirt or wet conditions
Yes, it is quite a big difference. KD will be very lazy and easy to drive. Laydown will have less rear grip, but a bit more rotation and corner speed.
Hi Michal, have you ever tried the Blue mini dart compound on Astro and is there a big difference for the setup? Thanks and regards
I have not. It’s harder than yellow, will give You less grip, but maybe less tyre wear.
Is it specific turf you guys run on !?🤔
Hi Michal, because of the boring times in rc I found myself watching your offroad Videos. Great stuff!
One little addition for the Situation at 06:00, in onroad classes lowering the inner camber link ball will increase camber gain and actually has very little influence in rollcenter. Don't know whether this is the same for offroad because of the different geometry, but it would explain why it feels like more grip for you.
Best regards
Simon
Thank You for Your input. With our geometry it changes the roll center slightly, but also, as You said camber gain. I know, that some people have a different view on this subject, therefore I didn’t want to go more in depth 😁. I’m glad that You confirm what I said about achieving more grip. 👍
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing are you planning on doing some touring car again? Would be great to have you back at the ets as well:)
Of course! I have my final school leaving exams in less than two weeks and after that I will be moving to UK and race full-time and study engineering as well. Then I will be back to TC for sure!
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing nice to hear! And someday we return to Tamiya Fighter Cup in Sonneberg! 🤣 Nico would be super happy! 🤣🤣
That was good times! 😂 Were You there in 2009 or 2010? I don’t remember exactly
Great video as ever. But as regards glueing the tyre sidewall, haven’t some clubs banned this practice? Regards
Most of Europe still allows it. I think only UK banned it.
Michal Orlowski Racing that explains it, thanks Michal.
How tight do you set the ball diff for wet astro compared to clay dirt racing?
The same.
Hy Michael, the one with the Gearbox is a good one. Ordered me one direct After the Video. Now i have one big question . Do u only Run the Cactus rear tire? What do u use in astroturf in the rear and front . For carpet i know (eos) but what do they use when riding on astroturf?? Would be very helpfull
Great to hear buddy! We usually run Mini Darts in yellow compound in the back and front of 4WD. And cut stagger yellow in front of 2WD
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing and rear in 2wd ? Cactus ?
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing thx for quick respond
Sorry, mini darts yellow in the back of 2WD also. In the wet, silver mini darts all around
Sometimes silver cut stagger in front of 2wd
For Astroturf, what about oil CST on rear diff (2WD B6.2), I 'm on 5K but my car slips off the rear axle when accelerating after a turn. Thanks
Please try a ball diff. It will help
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing maybe later yes, no solution without bals diff?
More toe in in the rear
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing big thanks
What’s the wear on tires like on turf
It depends on how much sand the track has in it and grip level.
It would help if you showed a diagram that shows "remove washers for more grip" or add more washers for less grip or whatever it is.
Unfortunately it isn’t that simple, as some changes affect the car in another way depending on track conditions, as the car might roll less, the ride height is different. I could do something like that, but it wouldn’t always be true.
@@MichalOrlowskiRacing some of us are "visual" and it would help us if you showed us visually what you were already describing in the video. What you say would be easier to follow if you showed pictures.
Will try that next time, if that’s possible. I don’t want to share tips, that will not work in every condition 👍
Thank You for Your input.
Alot of people from las vegas will not need this as an important thing
