Hi Melvin, the motor getting warm is normal. You are passing a large amount of electrical current through the motor to generate that amount of turning power and a byproduct of that is a lot of heat. The drum is probably conducting the heat generated by the motor, I am guessing the end with the motor is hotter than the end without? It's also possible the grease or bearing needs service.
I looked on your vid's for part 3 or the wiring up the soliniods to the winch and could not find it. Can you help me find it Please! Great part 1 & 2 helping me alot thanks for sharing with us.
hello vantagetes i also have a m8000 winch but i'm not sure how to wire the solenoids the right way so it works.. please help. i bought a new motor and i took it all apart to clean and regreased.. i got it all together but don't know how to wire it up again.... i should of took peicures.... please help

hi got a warn m6000 winch and the motor is getting warm after 3 minutes of activation sold it to a guy who states this and wondered if this is normal its running on 12v the centre roller where the wire sits gets warm at the motor end as he took rope off to check any advice appreciated i could air cool it but wondered if this is normal or should they run cold thanks melvin
@@vantagetes thats cool. just think 50-100,000 people waited for it...maybe if you revisit you can skip ahead to the solenoid upgrade packs... Seems to be a trend tho..every winch video I've looked at and the diagrams are never complete..
9 years now and still no part 3! how the hell do we wire these solenoids? We've been waiting long enough... 🤣
I just found and watched your video again. I still need help to figure out how to wire the solenoids.

have you uploaded the video showing how to connect the solenoid's to the winch please help
What sort of winch do you have? It sounds like your brake dogs are worn.
can u please put final connection of wires on selinoids
What was the problem in the first place?
@vantagetes and now back to mythbusters
Wincher rancey reparacion
did u do part 3
You've either got a bad connection inside your solenoid box, or a bad controller. Try another controller before you do anything else.
Where the last vid or u wiring it all back together??
Btseifert Doesn't exist yet, I havent finished haha. I own a ridiculous amount of winches.
