One more thing, While talking about his past he mentioned how he exploited a vulnerable FTP server to get access to the library, the vulnerability he used was "AS400" a real world ftp vulnerability (you can check the internet for more info, I can't recall but i guess it was from 2005 or so)... Any questions/corrections are appreciated. So feel free to ask and comment your views
Beautiful scene! He's basically writing a ruby script that sniffs for packets in the Femtocell. This script will sniff and intercept a packets containing the text APK , if it's found then it will send the malicious APK to the user. I think the idea of this was to send a fake packet that tells android phone that there's an update so when the android tries to download the new apk update, Eliot will intercept it and replace it with his malicious malware that will get him access to the phone. I believe this was an actual exploit that somebody found a few years back and was patched.
This is one of the very few tv shows where they made effort to make hacking look authentic. CSI just murders it with pop-up screens and silly buzz words
they gave out 2 methods to get admin access to Windows (season 3: getting into Susan Jacobs Computer/ or Olivias ) and (Season 4x12 Getting into Elliot's Mac)... I paused just to laugh because those are my methods.
Amazingly well produced and well written script, one of the best shows ever made! I love their attention to detail and realism. Something you dont see elsewhere.

I love the lights immediately going out as soon as he starts coding again. That's exactly how I feel when I code. Helps I code in a dark room but it genuinely feels like it's night time when I'm coding regardless of the time. I need to rewatch this show already.
It's probably not good for your eyes but coding in dark is good for your focus as you won't get distracted by things around you and you can get into the "groove"

You can select an exploit with the use command, set the payload, set a parameter called RHOSTS to the target up address, set lhost to your IP address, and run it. If the exploit runs successfully, you get access to the computer, depending on the payload. Now, Elliot is creating his own exploit to gain access to android smart phones. If you look at the code, you see “Knox browser exploit”. This means he is exploiting a zero-day(an unknown vulnerability that malware is targeting) in the Knox browser.
I love how they could explain ifconfig over the phone to Angela, but had to spend 24 hours explaining how to run this script with the same # of parameters.
