Was at this show, had to wait over 2 hours for the KING. Saw Bob one more time after this before he passed. Historic, thanks for the opportunity to relive some of my youth. Blessed LOVE!!
I was 2 days old when he did this concert. I’m glad I was on the planet at the same time with this Legend. Bob Marley music is timeless. It will never sound like old music. He was truly anointed and sent to us by God to encourage our minds and spirit. ✨🇯🇲✨
This is a fantastic tape recording, like I did when I was a child in lima Peru ,recording ziggy Marley and the melody makers, yellowman ,eek a mouse ,Michael rose ,in 1992 and 1993,who the cap fit and hypocrites the best live songs in this concert ,it blew my mind

the same show has a few different recordings, one has good bass another good treble and mid section, being a musician i can imagine what it would of sounded like being there with Aston & Calton Barrett tearing it up at the proper sound level as they were
I was just thinking to myself how good the Barrett Brothers were. They were on fire that night/morning. And true there are better audio recordings. Have you found one that has all the songs like this one, with the good audio?
@@rootsnatty8408 I not sure if the original Blackman Redemption was from the Peter, Bunny, and Bob days, but it was definitely released as a Tuff Gong single in the 1970s before being included on the Confrontation album.
It was said that Rastaman Live Up, Blackman Redemption, Buffalo Soldier were recorded during the Survival album sessions but they did not make it to final track list included in the Survival album.
Actually, the song Blackman redemption was released as a single in Jamaica in 1978, way before this Reggae Sunsplash of 1979. The B side had a dub version of the same song. Therefore, most in the audience knew the song so well by the time of the 1979 Sunsplash.
Tommy Trance this is one of if not the best because he didn't do usual set playlist with all the commercials songs that they put on the legend album this has more meaningful and deeper songs and the band are playing in more or a dub style cos of the Jamaican audience. The compositions are more roots rock reggae influenced just listen to who the cap fit that cut is amazing pure platinum 🙌🏿❤️🔥💚
Mother tucker who cares it's THE LEGEND BOB MARLEY DID YOUEVER SEE HIM LIVE. SHUT THE FUCK UP, MEASURING AND COMPARING AND QUANTIFYING SHIT JUST LIVE MAN WHO ANALYZE A LEGEND.
I like the setlist of this concert especially the rare live performance of Hypocrites, Black man Redemption and Rastaman Live up which he had been not released in any of the albums from Catch a Fire to Survival.
the video of it shows how amazing the show was , so that first comment is false information , people had so much fun in there , not counting the style used in songs and playlist , also the fact that this is a jamaïcan concert
The audience, the people who were there did they know then like we do now, they we're blessed to see this man perform?

How did people in the audience know the words to black man redemption if it wasn't released untill 1983?
There are older versions of that song from the days of the Wailing Wailers(The original group of five people)

Lástima que se oye mucho al público y ruídos de fondo!!!!🙄🙄🙄
That’s what makes it beautiful man! You get to hear how Jamaica loved him dispelling those senseless rumours of “we don’t like bob”
not one of his strongest performances...
