Jerusalem's Lot was the first book from S.K. i ever read. I remember it like yesterday, it was in autumn 1980, i was 12 and a rainy storm whistled around our old house. I slept with my light on for many many weeks after reading it. And I never took a look to my window at night during the next winter. The moving shadows on my wall from the tree branches of a big oak that stood in front of our house were creepy enough. But what I really was afraid to see, was a pale smiling face with red eyes and long white teeth, who asks me to be let in. I'm 56 since a week, but this story scared me like hell in those days as a small boy and still does it today as an nearly retired man. It's written so fucking good... And sorry for my english, I'm German and only learned it at school, so there may be some mistakes in it.

And there's monsters all right. People just call it Bigfoot but that's nothing but a deflection, a catharsis to deal with what's really going on. Personally I think it's the lack of sunshine and all this rain. And the forests they're mighty dark and deep here... hundreds of miles of logging roads. I walk them all the time.
Well, I had an interesting story to tell about horror and and other serial killers here in the PNW, other than vampires, but the _Karen_ of this channel decided to delete it for some reason.
Amazing!! Thank you for posting!! Stephen King is like the most popular author in the U.S. I will say his Salem's Lot movie has one of the scariest scenes of all time when the Glick kids are floating outside the window asking for entry. Never invite them in!! I don't even like to think about that scene and I'm almost 60! Best, from Colorado!
That was one part of the movie that I didnt like. Some kid who may have lost his sibling might think the sibling will come back from the dead. Kids at that age are very impressionable.
My grandson took a shortcut on his bike in the wilderness of Bavaria in the dark. He brilliantly described the fear and horror he felt. Finally, he quipped: Grandma, it was like riding into the middle of a Stephen King movie. 😂😂
Not bad. This short novel by King still haunts me decades after reading it. It's truly one of the best short horror stories of all times imo. The slight characters changes aren't annoying but it lacks in pure dread and cold despair as in the story!
The original Salem's Lot was scary as hell when I saw it as a little kid but the book, I read that in high school and I swear I was looking down hallways and checking the end of the lockers for a time after I read it. Nothing like his writing but King knows how to bring the fear.

I love these people. A stranger comes stumbling in and passes out on the floor and they don't lie him on a bench or call 911, but their first impulse is to sit him on a barstool.
Yeah. They’re even talking about the fire set by Ben Mears and Mark Petrie after they escaped when they mention the “watershed fire.” The vampires were all hiding in houses and large buildings, so they set fire to the town and most of them burned up. But, they obviously didn’t get them all.
True King style and love that he brings in the provenance of his past literary creations. Stephen King's world feels real. Love his stuff and his characterization is spot on
Terrible acting. And when is this supposed to take place? Our time or ten years after the events in Salems lot? Because she says ten years ago that people went missing. But they’re talking about Google, and not being able to smoke in bars as if it’s today. So are you moving the timeline up? Because she mentioned the bar starting up in 1971 which would’ve been around the appropriate time for the books, but then she says 10 years ago people started disappearing. If you still mean for this to take place in the same universe as the books, or if you mean it to be historical accurate according to the books, then the book Salems lot being 10 years before this would make it 1985, still way before Google and woke bar policies.

My brother told me this story. Back in the late 60s, there was a bar/restaurant about a half a mile from where my mother lived, in Santa Rosa, a rural area. The bar was open at midnight and at that time, no one was in the bar but a lady bartender. A stranger walked in and sat at the bar. The bartender asked the stranger what he wanted to drink. He told her and she poured the drink, but when she looked at his eyes, he had eyes like a snake. She did not want to show she was terrified and told him she would be back after she checked the fridge in the back. She went back there and locked herself in the fridge/storage area. She finally fell asleep, still afraid to come back to the front of the bar. The next day, the owner walked in and he unlocked the storage area and found her. She had fallen asleep but told him of the weird, devil-like stranger.
Not a bad version of one of my favourite Stephen King short stories. "Somewhere out there there's a little girl still waiting for her goodnight kiss..."

I read all of Stephen King's vampire books and they are second to none. For some reason us humans have a morbid fascination with vampires and they are a very entertaining bunch.
This was a good short film adaption of "One for the Road", Stephen King's short horror story. I was curious, however, why the location was changed to Oregon from Maine. I mean, not that it changes the film's effectiveness or anything. It just seemed strange, in my personal opinion. Good acting and atmosphere, regardless.
I like this one. I know that I risk antagonizing fans of Salem's Lot (1979), but I think vampires are much scarier if they resemble humans and can walk among us and lure unsuspecting victims to their death I was put off by Barlow being the ONLY Nosferatu type vampire in the movie.
Yeah, Barlow should never be depicted as anything but Nosferatu - Trying to portray him as Gangrel (the only "excuse" that can be offered for that, and it's a poor one, is trying to to draw that "gotta be gory to be scary" crowd) completely destroys the underlying concept. Barlow, like Dracula, was "classy", not a slobbering, barely humanoid "monster-of-the-week".
2004 Salem's Lot has Barlow in human form. As he gets staked, he goes through very many different human forms he had occupied throughout the centuries. I find this more entertaining than Nosferatu crap.

Of course I do watch longer movies and in special cases series. The Haunting of Hill House is somewhere at the top of my list. I would love to see more of that kind of stuff. I also really appreciate psychological thrillers like Shutter Island. Thank you for sharing this Stephen King short.
I love the movie Salem's Lot with David Soul this is a good follow-up too bad it wasn't longer people have the tendency to believe that something is so outrageous it can't be true stranger things are unknown in this world😮
This movie scared the s..t out of me when l was younger. The demon is what got me.
Yay, native Oregonian here! My dad was from Klamath falls, I'm from Springfield/Eugene, and lived in Portland many times :)
Portland Maine. Not Oregon! I lived in Cottage Grove and moved because you people are dumb!
Absolutely loved it, great work
This is an excellent adaptation. Good job....creepy!
nice little town story. Thank you Stephen King !
This was pretty good..nothing that can keep me entertained for longer then 1 minute is pretty good in my book 😂
Never get tired of this
wow I have to say this was a great short horror film Stephan king is always the best.
Hi
I read all of Stephen King's vampire books and they are second to none. For some reason us humans have a morbid fascination with vampires and they are a very entertaining bunch.
these colabs are fantastic

Wow this is great!
great short story. Never knew about this story by SK.
I'm very happy to subscribe to your channel! Thank you for your awesomeness! 😀
3:39- Right there i said to myself, OH I'M DEFINITELY GOING THROUGH THE LOT!😂
Good stuff! Well done!!
Amazing. Reminds me of the Silent Hill video games.
What a GREAT adaptation!
Made my day! Excellent.
Does anyone know if the actual story Jerusalem's Lot was ever done on film? It would make a fabulous period piece
Watched alotve shorts. Ive got to say this made me forget i was watching a short! Seriously bug budget rival w limited resources an perfect red eyes.
Bloody good movie. Just wish it was longer....👍
That is the worst cutaway in film history at 6:40. It leaves you wondering what the hell?
Damn! Now that was a surprise winner! Good to go!
This was pretty good. The vampire thing is a bit played out but it held my attention.
Loved it!! Thanks!!
Excellent, as always.
I quit smoking about 5 years ago, but damn that opening scene at the bar with the guy smoking a cigarette looked so good.
It’s a woman not a guy!
