    5:58, to add on to the "eh" design, I didnt even realize it was supposed to be a giga until I was told it was a giga by watching videos about the trailer and colin's tweets. I was 100% confident it was some suped up acrocanthosaurus when I first saw the trailer due to its large spines along its neck and back. Kind of like how spino is a suped up version of itself in the JP franchise. Also if you ever have seen the isle's hyperendocrin giganotosaurus design, JP giga legit looks like that.

    I feel like in a twist, the Giganotosaurus is portrayed as a hero rather than a villain.
    My interpretation would have the Giganotosaurus be a mother trying to protect the offspring from the Spinosaurus, who would be the real Dinosaur villain of JW: Dominion.
    Her story parallels with Rexy who adopted two orphaned Rexes after their parent had been killed.
    The twos' stories come together when they fight the Spinosaurus as a team. At the end of the movie, we see the Giga and her child living peacefully with the Rexes.
    Also, both their stories and the Spinosaurus's ties with Dr. Wu. Rexy represents Wu's optimistic wonder, the Spino representing Wu's developing cynicism and the Giga being to represent Wu's returning good-nature.

    Agreed, Giga was definitely the worst dino villain in the whole franchise (so I'm including Camp Cretaceous and Battle at Big Rock as well). I admit that I disagree with people claiming that "it was innocent and it didn't deserve to die", as Rexy just killed it in a fight for territory. I mean, she risked to be killed too, so it perfectly makes sense that she tried to kill the Giga. As you said, the problem with Giganotosaurus (except for its terrible design) is that he simply doesn't get the right screentime or even the right anticipation that it needed as a villain. I mean, even in Jurassic Park the velociraptors appear just in the final part of the film, but their menace is widely built up, they kill both Arnold and Muldoon and they try several times to kill the protagonists. Giganotosaurus just appears in the prologue, opening its rivalry with Rexy, and then, during the film, we only see it fighting with her for the deer (cool scene), then attacking the protagonists in a sequence that lacks any tension or danger sensation (mainly due to the protagonists plot armor), and then, the final battle. To me, the real problem of the final fight is how T.rex gets humiliated, beaten up once again before waking up again in rage (yeeee) and killing the Giga... teaming up with Therizinosaurus (that kinda sucked). As you said, JWD should be completely rewritten to give Giganotosaurus a proper role of villain, and this would imply cutting away much of the huge roster of dinosaurs featured in this film. And deleting the locusts, of course.

    Could have been cool to see a more violent giga, where the main characters learn it has the unused indominus dna that wasn't used for the indoraptor. In the final fight the we see flashbacks between the indom fight and the giga fight. The giga fights rexy, blue, and green (Green was an unused concept for fallen kingdom). Giga dies but rexy bleeds out and saldy dies. i know people dont wanna rexy to die, but it would've made a more impactful ending. A we've won but at what cost ending.

    Compared to the other dinosaur villains in the JP franchise, the Giganotosaurus is the most forgettable. Expanding on your comparison with the Indominus rex, the Giga is inconsequential to the film's plot. Conversely, the Indominus's escape and subsequent rampage is the main conflict of the movie. If you're not going to make it a monster, at least make it a consistent threat. The Giganotosaurus isn't THE dinosaur to watch out for, it's just another dinosaur to watch out for in a film absolutely bloated with them.
    As for the design, the only things I like are the colors and sound design. Other than that, it's garbage and they should've used the LW PS1 or Warpath design.

    Unpopular opinion, I loved the design of the Giganotosaurus, I loved that it acted like an animal for once. It wasn’t a villain to me, just a poor big dopey animal, didn’t deserve its brutal death, other than kill the T. rex in the prologue, and even then. Yes I hate seeing the T. rex getting bodied, and yes the T. rex should be absolutely destroying the Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus in fights without help, but the other dinosaur has to be a villain. Although the giga design is really wild and weird but it's genius for some reasons and if it wasn't for the prologue and being Biosyn clone then it wouldn't get too much negative receptions, the giga design which I'm sure is designed to tell to younger audiences that it required many relatives DNA to clone it and it's more realistic in my opinion, that weird hump is exactly from both its smaller cousins concavenator and acrocanthosaurus (in some concept arts it was even supposed to be just a giga-named acro like how the deinonychus is velociraptor subspecies in this franchise) and those sharp spines and arms which when I first watched the prologue it reminded of Big Rock allo, similar color skins, spines and even same arms, the designers just tried to tell to younger people that this guy is an allosaurid which is true but it didn't work because of the prologue and when they say Biosyn has cloned this animals pure and accurate which is incorrect, some of them are just more closer to their real life counterpart but not 100% pure and it's completely against the novel version of Biosyn, they were just stealing other people assets and ideas, their scientists weren't smarter than InGen's, imagine the prologue is during sometime after 2015 in Nublar and the giga is in fact the paddock 10 mysterious animal and another mention from CC, Rexy was making a nest in her paddock, right ? now the giga like the prologue enters there and starts a fight against Rexy and wins but it doesn't kill her but instead it kills her infants, so dark and heartbreaking and now we have another reason to see Rexy kills it.

  • @kavehthephantomboy
    @kavehthephantomboy 10 месяцев назад

    I want to say one thing that they should have done for the giga to make it a real villain.
    Do you remember that drug from CC S4 which made Big Eatie and Little Eatie mad and fight against each other ? although the last two seasons were absolute garbage but this idea was so cool, imagine it they say to Alan and Ellie that the giga is sick and mad because of some sort of experimental projects with this drug and during burning locusts scene when it's on the loose it starts killing multiple poor smaller dinos and some poor dudes too, now they would had a reason to kill it.

    If I were allowed to make one small change to the movie, just one...then it would actually be to have the Giganotosaurus win in the end by having it and the therizinosaurus team up against Rexy instead of the other way around.
    Rexy is an iconic and beloved dinosaur, but she has had her heyday, and it would be interesting to have the movie give her a definitive ending. That way, the giga would serve more of a purpose in the story. However, it would have been handled differently than the spinosaurus in 3 in that instead of using the T.Rex's death to sell how badass another dinosaur is, it would be to show that Rexy is past her prime and that not everything lasts forever.
    Plus, Rexy is actually way older than a T. Rex can be in real life, so she should have already died of old age anyway.

  • @ethanpena2030
    @ethanpena2030 Год назад

    I wouldn't say worst, he was still enjoyable to watch as the fsct he wasn't this pyschopath like the spinosaurus, but yeah for a typical villain, he isn't best, but as one of the newer dinosaurs, he honestly is the best big theropod and is extremely adorable
    But If i were to redo the giga, design stays the same....welll minus the spikes on the back, those need to be shorten. Reason being is ine, the design is perfectly fine and looks cool. Second is mainly the idea of the giga being a failed clone so it's appearance looks monstrous with slight resemblance to a irl giga.
    I would still have the sympathetic side of the giga due to the fact colin seemed to make it like it was a victim of animal abuse but that never was explored.
    I would have it where the giga was born a clone that wasn't pure while other biosyn dinosaurs like Pyroraptor were mostl pure but with obviously inaccuracy. due to this he has a side effect of a behavior where he will go from passive to aggressive. But unfortunately do to how aggressive it is, it is mainly because dodgson and other biosyn workers have done cruel experiments on the poor animal to the point it will attack anything (mainly humans)
    So it would have been cool to see a alot of scenario of like owen or claire running into the giga and getting chase the second it sees a human due to what it goes through with biosyn,
    Plus show it having a negative impact of the valley. Even a little fight with the giga and Pyroraptors would have been cool.
    I would have also show the animal is clearly alone and makes calls to other gigas. It would still have behaviors of a normal giga (or just animal in general.)
    We could still have that trex and giga fight but it should have just been a one on one, andnif anything the trex shouldn't just defested and have it run off out of submission like how big eatie did with the spino.
    Plus I would add scenes were the people made semi pure gigas, looking at least semi accurate and the biosyn giga gets a new family or pack to live along side with.
    That is how i would have done the giga, still gove that animal nature and innocent but also that danger and that it is clearly issue in the plot.

    Basically this version of the giga just represents all the mediocrity of all the new Jurassic hybrids and villains
    That's not to say that the new films are bad or that the hybrids or bad it's just the point out that they have multiple bad traits just like that all came together in the giga
    and obviously they have many good traits it's usually not all bad it's just this version of the giga brings together a lot of those were straits unfortunately

They experiment on one of the babies mixing apatosaurus and stegosaurus in it. Having a pretty long neck and tail but having the head of a triceratops. After it was cloned it broke out of containment killing any thing in its path. The triceratops find the cast and try attacking them but fail and the humans escape. The hybrid fights many Dino’s. At the climax the hybrid would find the watering hole the herd stays at crushing a lot of their eggs. The other herbivores run in fear. The triceratops return and fight the hybrid one triceratops taking the risk and pushing it into water and they both drown. This may sound pretty lame bc I just came up with this off the top of my head.

    I thought of a theory to cope with the design. The spine reminds me *alot* of the smaller Central American characharadontid; concavenator. You can actually see a model of the concavenator in the displays in Lockwood manor in fallen kingdom so maybe they filled in some of the gaps in the dna with another species of the family.

      It’s a fun theory. However, in the Prologue, set 66 million years prior. It’s shown looking exactly the same. On top of there being a mention that the biosyn valley dinosaurs have “complete, untouched genomes”.

    I thought they would have gone with like the ultamate hybrid like something in between the i Rex and indoraptor like how they were building it up the past two movies so it was a little disappointing when they didn’t have another hybrid

      Bc dominion is a rip-off of JP3. Same characters, same plot more or less. There's even a plane!
      JW was just a "modern" JP, right down to the two kids. Fallen Kingdom was a "modern" lost world, right down to the dinosaurs wild on an island and a little girl and Dominion was a shittier version of the crappiest movie in the original franchise.

      I wish they just went back to more of a Jurassic Park feeling. No "villain", just animals that act like animals.
