- Day 1 of 5 leaving Snoqualmie Pass for Stevens Pass on the PCT. Going into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness we cross Kendall Katwalk, a quick stop at Ridge Lake, with views of Alaska Lake, Joe Lake, Edds Lake, and Mount Rainier. In the heat of the day we cross some scree fields under Chikamin Peak and Four Brothers, and hit every snow reward we find to cool down. Once over the ridge we see Parks Lakes and decide that will be home for Day 1.

Thanks for the great video and the list of gear. 🙌🏽 I have been trying to find that type of water bottle.
Wow.. amazing views.
Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching, it was an epic adventure, and got to meet so many cool people. A bunch of people from Europe doing the full PCT.
Amazing views. I'd like to head down there and try that section someday.
Also, that's a heck of a shot of the moon at the end. Bravo
Thanks, the ol FZ80 may be kinda clunky but it can zoom to the moon! I would suggest later in August or early September if you do, the skeeters were relentless!
Heading this way in 2 weeks - how are the mosquitoes?
From Snoqualmie to Waptus, they were bad, from Waptus to Stevens they were really really bad, like jogging in circles to refill water bad. Couldn't camp at Deep or Deception Lakes it was that bad. Had to wear rain gear to make dinner as they were biting through my clothes. We had Repel Lemon Eucalyptus spray, Off wipes, along with Off spray, and it did nothing. Might be worth bringing a Thermacel?
What date did you start this hike?
I love your vlogs. Thanks for including so much of the terrain.
I believe it was August 7th 2022, thanks for watching!
