    I recon you could run a paravane in front of it all so you can set the depth of the lure.Just a thought .Would love to try on of these off Canterbury but the water is always so dirty

      yeah I actually have a paravane in my tackle box. I will give it a try - that should work. I agree, it's a bit difficult around the Canterbury coast. I'm up in Blenheim at the moment and it's the same here. I might give it a try in Port Underwood when it's calm and cleared up a bit.

    cool u got given an underwater camera. i did consider getting this. i would b cool to see the float shot in action especially for squid fishing. the upward camera position was pretty cool. just wanna ask how did you transfer the files to ur computer? via wifi connection with the camera to your phone or can you plug it to ur computer?

      I think it could be really good for squid fishing, eh. I wish there were any squid around here so I could give it a try :) To get the files to the computer, you first have to transfer the footage from the camera to the phone via the app (wifi) and then you can copy it from the phone to the computer.

      @@Fishingreminder ah right. hope you'll do more review on it. would like to see more underwater action. not enough of it especially here in nz

      @@BasicFishingNZ yeah I'll certainly try to use it more often. My biggest concern is losing it to a shark, especially down here on the South Island :) This would mainly be an issue if I attach it to the sinker when drone fishing and a shark would bite through the line above the sinker. Maybe I'll have to use very heavy line down to the sinker and then just lighter line for the dropper traces. But I think it would be quite cool for drone fishing. That way you could see what's going on all the way out there.

      @@Fishingreminder i saw this good tip and someone attached a good lenght of wire between the camera and the main line to tackle that issue plus tied on a heavy leader. hope that helps

      @@BasicFishingNZ yeah probably a smart idea to use wire in shark invested waters, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try. Just waiting for the water to clear up a bit. At the moment it's very murky after all the rain. Probably wouldn't be able to see much.

    I tried another brand, quite similar (but different design) - was great till it failed, can't get it to connect to my computer to recover or delete the footage. It's really cool getting underwater fishing footage. Be interested is seeing an update after you've used it a dozen times.

      @Fishingreminder  2 месяца назад

      yeah I will do a bit of an update in a future video. I wanted to try it with drone fishing. Attach it to the sinker and have it point up to the hooks. Would make some cool footage if a big rig, snapper or elephant fish takes the bait. Just a bit worried that a shark bites through the trace and I lose it right away, haha.

      @@Fishingreminder As long as you don't get broken off. I was running mine in 50lb braid with 15lb leader from the camera, so the week point was after the camera. I also wonder about adding a weight to the front of the camera to keep the nose down, I found it also came to the surface trolling mine.

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  2 месяца назад

      @@snappagrabba yeah I will give it a go with a weight in front of the camera next time. I also recently bought myself a paravane. People use them to troll lures deeper. You might have seen them. I could try to use this in front of the camera. That should keep it down. Not good for casting but should work for trolling.

      I love reviewing and testing fishing gadgets and gear. But we only pick the ones we like and use ourselves. We get a lot of requests but most products aren't really suitable for our channel. Some of the products we test have issues and we try to point that out.
