Guy with red hair is Kayne (voiced by Cal Scruby) , guy with pink hair in the boxing ring is Sett (voiced by ØZI), guy with green hair/yellow glasses is Ezreal ( voiced by Baekhyun), the dude you kept referring is K'Sante (voiced by Tobi Lou), the one with a purple mask/teal hair is Aphelios (instruments because in league lore he lost his voice), the guy with long red hair, looks like a samurai is Yone (DJ/Producer) aka "The Band Mom", and the manager is Alune who you don't see in the video (Aphelios' twin sister).
I really like your commentary about how the lyrics "they praying for the death of a rockstar" is a metaphor for how a lot of people want the end to freedom and individuality, always pushing for conformity. It was quite a deep insight I didn't notice before. Thank you for that! ^_^
Personally, I love Kayn's opening verse about how he climbed up from the bottom and now the world's watching him. It suits his personality as a cocky punk and is backed well by the chorus of how everyone is a jealous, a critic, or hoping those at the top fail. Marcus Skeen wrote a song, 'Lost in Silence', for the in-universe composer for Paranoia, Aphelios. Aphelios loses his voice and Skeen writes him a song about the the crumbling of his aspirations and the loss of his voice.
Your reaction is awesome! I subscribed your funny as hell. The one thing that kinda hit me with this song and made it like WAY better than any other song riots made before is the subtle things about it, I dont think ive seen anyone mention this after watching a ton of reactions but one thing that stood out in an amazing way about this was that because every build-up to the chorus is different, it feels like every chorus is different, like every chorus has the same words, but each time it gets to the chorus its almost like a complete tonal shift which to me is amazing and it all builds off of the individual parts, I feel like you dont see that really. With a lot of bands its like theyre all in sync and trying to sound the same, but with this its like they WANT it to be 4 different styles and that makes it that much better for me. Especially as someone who just likes any music thats good regardless of genre.
Your thumbnail brought me here. And it's so fun you are in the MV (2:58) 😁🤭🤭 I had no idea about the game Legends of League, but i know Baekhyun (of EXO) as Ezreal. But i must say the whole MV (from the animation, the song, composition, production, everything) is superb, cause i'm not a fan of LoL but i got hooked with this song and MV. Shout out to Cal Scruby, tobi lou, and ØZI, especially toby lou's part of "oooh" in Reff such a dope 😊❤
I was waiting for your reaction to Paranoia for so long, and I am so happy to see how you look at K'Sante, associating yourself with him, it just makes me feel that black people should get more and more recognition and interpretation in these animated videos, and basically just in everything I live in Ukraine, we haven't got much black people in here, I hope I didn't offend anybody by this words, I'm just genuinely happy Don't want to bring politics in here, but since USA is helping us A LOT, I feel like I should get involved in their culture and cultural problems, I see how huge the difference is when black people get more recognition in there, I really support you and grateful for your support as well
The members of Heartsteel are Kayn (Red Eye) K'Sante (Dude who looks like you) Sett (Boxer) Ezreal (Green Hair) Aphelios (Swimming dude) and Yone (Mask n long coat)
This why i love league of legends games or music, this song is great, yone & kayn on this MV so gorgeous with the costume and then the animated is amazing i love this song so much
They gonna perform this song live on 19 November on the league final in korea so i really hope the singers are actually gonna perform it instead of AI. can't wait!
@@jammievuong9667 Their characters aren't AI btw. Even with their holograms that they might be using in the live event, those are all animated by people. It will be akin to how they do performances of Hatsune Miku live - its someone actually dancing behind the scenes using mocap.
Man I have so much respect for how much you love music history. Obviously your main passion is hip hop but I love that you have clearly studied the hell out of every type of music so that you never get caught speaking from a point of ignorance. So fun whenever you come out with a new reaction video to this sort of stuff.
amazing commentary and reaction! and you were spot on, the story of this video (they're champions in the league universe, as many explained, but this is a "what if" scenario that league likes to make), is that each one of them tried to get in the industry but were asked to conform, like you said, to sing and write and direct what companies wanted, not what *they* wanted. so in an act of rebellion they break into a studio and do their own music video exactly the way they feel like doing it (there are a lot of key frames that even indicate they drew over their video, as if they edited their own video). The creation of this is amazing from an artistic point of view is AMAZING and the amount of details put in this is top notch, and you captured that without knowing the story of the video! you just gained a new follower
Hey just so you know, the reason for this song not being the Worlds anthem is likely because Riot is doing a similar method to 2018's POP/STARS release. Basically, POP/STARS was not the Worlds 2018 anthem. Instead, RISE was the anthem and POP/STARS released as K/DA's debut single before their first live performance at Worlds. So, GODS is the anthem this year, and PARANOIA released as HEARTSTEEL's debut single before what will likely be their first live performance at Worlds 2023 later this month. The "anthem"s are usually the songs that are more focus on the actual story behind League's competitive players.
Been addicted to this song ever since it was out but never gave much thought about the lyrics, it was just the generic bad-ss lines for me lol, but stumbled on your reaction and honestly your view on the lyrics like the death of a rockstar and how it's a metaphor for the death of freedom holy shitttt now I like it even more!!
scru been watching you for couple days. seen just now you watching paranoia, but did you know that someone did a KDA mashup with Paranoia and Popstars? its like a whole new song, absolutely breathtaking. you can only celebrate when someone blesses the community with a video like this. just to reitterate, each song is good in their own right, both entirely different but together it just feels like this was how it was meant to be.
I am here for Baekhyun, kpop vocal king and he is from EXO huge kpop group, the vocal kings, kpop R&B kings, he is Azreal, the one with green hair. He is my vocal king. Check his many R&B albums: UN Village, Candy, Bambi, All I Got, Cry for Love, etc.
Those characters are champions from the video game League of Legends. So exactly like how KDA are female champions from the same game. Each character got their own lore and story. And the brotha is K'sante, one of my mains, along with Sett, and Kayn. So this is something, I'm extremely excited about. Especially as folks who look like us don't get much love in spaces like this.
Love the league reactions man, gotta say he does look like you what a great song riot dont miss cant think of one mv and song that was ehh always bangers
When u compare this song and Gods u need to take into account what the song is about. Paranoia is definetly better as a song, but definetly is not an anthem that would get u hyped up. And Gods was made specificaly as an anthem and the main charm of that is also the music video that is just a cool animated video to you and average people, but to league fans that follow the Esport scene its a whole story of Deft and has a lot more meaning then just a simple music video. Oh and just on the side note about the live show. Those are done the day of the finals at worlds. The worlds are still playing and the finals are on the 19. of november. So u can enjoy the live show on that day.
Pretty sure if Scru approaches Riot they would consider collabing with him on a song especially if they notice his song with Ez Mil since he could hop on a track of the Riot Pop Rap style.
so many small little details got animated in this video too! like right at the beginning, Kayn rips off his eyepatch thus letting the darkin Rhaast take over to spit probably the best verse in the song lmao
From what I understand the worlds song is based of the rise of one of the players who after bouncing from team to team and fighting against former teammates he finally beat his rival. So GODS fits perfectly. (I don’t know his name cause I’m not into LoL beyond the songs)
To answer your question, Worlds 2023 Championship Opening Ceremony Performance is actually a bit late this year, but will commence on November 19th in Seoul, South Korea at the Gocheock Sky Dome.
