I wish I discovered this sooner. A few days ago, I watched the original from 2010 were she was still a student, and 15. Now she’s a principle. That’s incredible! Keep doing such amazing stuff. I wish I could dance as amazing as you.
I do believe I detect a faint tinge of a Russian accent! I think the language is lovely, and I even love the Russian accent. :) This dancer is SO beautiful to watch.
Nice. I've never heard that it's a sin if you aren't already "wet" (sweating) when you come to the barre, but as I get older I find that it's TRUE because if I'm not already thoroughly warmed up, the barre is a waste of time if not a complete disaster!!
Yes absolutely, I have to have at least 20-30 minutes of some sort of stretch warm up before bar I am one of the few girls in my class that actually do that and I don’t know how the ones that don’t can just do barre without warm up (and somehow they are still amazing like I don’t get it I can’t stand in first position if I haven’t atleast done my middle splits😂)
Ayumi Saito: I peel oranges and lemons and put the skin in the freezer. Then I add 2 or 3 skins to the coffee filter and add coffe. Delicious! I even shred those frozen skins on salads, rice, etc.
austenluvr that’s actually pretty common. Even non-ballet schools like OOCPA, Dance Precisions or Club Dance have students with this kind of flexibility. Sophia Lucia was well known for her flexibility before going strictly ballet as a teen.
I find it so sad how there are still so many ballerinas that don't eat enough. There are ways to stay slim and still eat in a healthy manner and enough portion! I'm not judging her specifically, I'm just pointing out something that I believe shouldn't still be supported.
As long as she gets enough nutrients and calories overall eating a strict 3 meals a day isn’t necessary. There’s actually a lot of evidence that different forms of intermittent fasting can improve health. It’s also difficult for an athlete to keep energy up if they feel full. Eating a meal activates the parasympathetic nervous system that actually forces your body to want to rest so that it can allocate energy to digest food instead of use energy for any physical activity.
Hi what a wonderful video this was thank you, I really enjoyed seeing those shoes that you were wearing during your warm up. I have a set of foot wakers, that I bought out of Pilates shop and they are fantastic, however I would really enjoy these shoes with the straps. Please comment and let me know what they are and where to purchase. Thank You T.
@@eri137 wow never saw them before. We didn't have all those accesories growing up as a dancer between mid 70's and 80's. Definitely we didn't have a coach to train you at the gym like she has ( I forgot his name) .
How spectacukar you are Joy Womack! Could you please told the name about the black shoes you used yo stretch your feet? And where can I get it??? Thanks for the info! :)
I hate seeing dancers over-stretching and hyper- extending their knees! Joy has hyperexrended knees...I am so surprised that her teachers did not train her to correct that at an early age. Even before she went to Russia.
It really doesn’t look like hyperextension gets corrected anymore. I trained in the 80s and 90s and was taught to have a slight bend in my knee to achieve a straight/non hyperextended line. But the dancers these days seem to train hyperextended
omg yes i want them! my guess is it helps stretch the calves and achilles but also it looks like it lets you rock forward on to the ball of your feet too. so interesting....
I am surprised by the people in the comments. You seem to be interested only in her Russian accent and missed lunch. I think it's the popcorn and Coke that's destroying your brain
Come on girl! You need some protein. Have some yogurt, or something. You're bones, and muscles must be starving? The average person needs something like 120 grams of carbohydrates on a daily basis for brain function.
That's sad. She is doing no good for herself. All that starvation is going to blow up in her face one day. There was a principal dancer in Boston that died from heart failure. All the coffee, and smoking will age her faster than anything. Her muscles will atrophy, and she will start breaking bones. I saw the Alvin Aily dance troupe back in October, and they were in great shape. Not one once of flab on them, but obviously healthier than your typical ballerina.
Gail Lynch To my knowledge, Joy does not smoke. And her eating disorder didn't start until she arrived in Russia a few years ago. Most of the Russian dancers have eating disorders as well. I used to train with Joy. she is exquisite, just hope she stays healthy.
Sorry for that assumption. I thought I saw her smoking in the video. A lot of girls think that smoking will stop them from eating. Nicotine also is known to cut the appetite. Sorry for that mistake.
Gail Lynch No need to apologize. Maybe she does now. It wouldn't surprise me, most of the Russian dancers do have some sort of relationship with nicotine, for the reasons you stated. I really hope she hasn't turned to that.
Her English doesn't sound American any longer. By knowing that, we all know how much effort she puts in being a Ballerina and her Russian.
Respect!

Dude , she's teaching at my summer intensive this July :0 I'm soo excited !!
nerdycats you are so lucky
she is an inspiration. I should have stuck with ballet, she truly is a prima ballerina. Bravo Joy for bringing beauty into this world.

Yes because those muscles can actually do things! Same for my tendons and joints.

@@katumlang8265 oh my gosh saaaaaammmmmeee
She has developed a Russian accent.
It's well known Russian ballerinas are more svelte and the tradition is to be very very thin, so it doesn't surprise me that she's skipping meals.
Nice update on Joy Womack. Thank you!
Even when she walks normally you can see the ballet shining through in her posture.
coffee with lemon?
never heard of it.
i'm gonna try it😋
Tried it.
Without sugar though.
Surprisingly nice!
I think I'm gonna have a cup everyday.

I love how she walks with natural turnout hhhh
her accent doesnt sound that american any more
Ikr I just came from an old video and it's blatantly obvious
***** i didnt insinuate that she has a russian accent ,she has a neutral accent now sort of
calling espresso "expresso" is certainly American though
She's American?
Nicole Chow yesh same i was like is this the same girl
she went through so much to now being an Artist with the Boston Ballet
Is nobody amazed at 1:41? Jesus!

@@mindyschocolate we don't care if it's common. We find it amazing
I hope she at least had a hearty dinner
Thank you. There seems to be a problem with the video has it been stopped for some reason. Thank you
You're beautiful Joy. I really love your work.

@@victoriabrussolo9181 You're very right. Humans eat way more than they need usually. And she has a perfect, healthy figure.

Love your videos!! Would like to know the name of this calf stretcher you are using in the min 1:34. Where when I buy it? Thank you so much!
I love "1812" in the background. Nice

3:25 Joy's a power ranger!
рад, что после того скандала, она нормально устроилась
Russian is a ridiculously difficult language, and she mastered it for the sake of studying and dancing in Russia.
My body hurts when I watch them
Does anyone know the music at 3:40?
what is she using at 1:27?
Como se llaman las sandalias que usa para calentar? Gracias.
What is the name to the sandals that she was using to warm? Thanks

👏👏👏👏👒🩰 Beautiful..
What's the specific name of the pink shoes? They are weighted?
If you're taking about the neon pink one, they are Bloch Booties!
Looks like quite an alone life too, not that there is anything wrong with being alone.
Танцует она красиво !
what were those shoes she was wearing during her warm up routine
I think they were Bloch booties
Not the booties the other ones' when she was doing her tendus. they had straps and a ballish kind of thing under them
I want to know too
Lani Ana "Goopo training sandals" by Chacott
Masad Qawishabazz "Goopo training sandals" by Chacott
What were those weird black exercise blocks under your feet during warm up?

What are they supposed to do ? Dance on bent knees? You must be a westerner. (Inferior training)

How can she not be hungry if she skips lunch?
Caffeine is a bit of a hunger blocker
i hope she was wise and got out of there........
Does she speak Russian?
Saffron's World she learnt
