Lossy is still the most inspiring pedal of 2023. It does so much and is capable of such a unique soundscape you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Lossy 4 lyfe.
One of my favourite pedals for sure, love Lossy! it is very 'musical' and the textures have very special 'quality' that suit the type of music I mainly do ( ambient / glitch / drone / soundscape )
And after the tape disintegration, the early MP3 feeling, it would be so cool to have a Vinyl FX pedal. Especially with a punchy comp like the Vulf Compressor. And then everybody could use this with the GenLoss and the Lossy to sound like a vynil has been recorded to tape and digitalized with Windows 95... 😄
Lossy is one of the most surprising pedals for me. From "why should I need that" to "I am absolutely fascinated". 💗 It offers so many sound modulations. 💓
Coolest pedal; conceptually leagues ahead of anyone else. You’re running so far ahead people are definitely going to be left behind in terms of “getting it” but I say KEEP GOING
ITS ON THE LIST ! i really enjoy the unexpected bits out of your pedals . gen loss is my new favorite drive and this would be dope for the reverb alone.
I cannot scream loud enough how wonderful all the CB releases were in 2023, especially Lossy. I have filled every preset slot on my Mood II, Rev C, and Lossy. I don't know if people realize how diverse these pedals can be in different contexts. I buy every CB pedal the day it's announced, but I do wonder if more brick & mortar locations may help skeptical buyers see their endless capabilities. I know you all had a huge backlog during Covid, but if you've caught up, expanding to more stores might give people a chance to test them out. I won't pretend to know what it's like to run a pedal business, but it's just a thought... I just want everyone to see what these amazing devices can do. Oh, and now with all your midi and stereo magic (Tom's? haha), I would gladly buy a v2 of every older pedal- would love a stereo Blooper and Habit for synths! I love crawling up in bed with any of the stereo pedals, running my OP1 in spread, and listening to the output with headphones. It's truly magical. Thank you for bringing me so much joy with your products.
Oh no! Yet another CB pedal I'm going to have to eventually get . . . this pedal addiction thing is getting way out of hand, oh well. A marvelous pedal it is . . .
How popular have these been compared to the GenLoss colab? I’m in my 40s and totally get the tape/Lofi thing, but this just doesn’t make sense to me. The data loss from audio compression was just a gross to me, I hated accidentally whenever I grabbed 128k bitrate MP3s accidentally, but sometimes it was unavoidable. I like the creativity of this pedal, but everything aside from the “lossy” part seems like it might be better gotten elsewhere, and doesn’t really have anything to do with the namesake. Maybe I need to see it in person and play around with some synths, or pipe music through it. I could just compress my own
I'm 50 and I love my Lossy! A big part of the history of guitar sounds was about using defects as features. Distorted guitar amps wasn't created on purpose, it was a defect of overcranked tube amps that became a new musical sound on its own. Genloss is all about a tape sound defects used as musical features, so why the digital artifacts of Lossy couldn't be? This pedal allows sounds I never heard before on a live guitar. It can turn anything into spectral blurry pads and its really nice. You don't have to use it as master effect making a whole track like a bad mp3. But it's really one of my most versatile pedal.
As a longtime fan of the original Goodhertz plugin this is heavily derived from, this is absolutely the next major pedal purchase I plan to make, I personally love the sorts of artifacts that come from digital data compression. It's a matter of personal taste and perhaps a different sort of nostalgia, but it evokes a similar feeling to me as the sounds of tape and vinyl degradation that other pedals have been able to recreate. Being able to take those sounds and use them in a controlled, artistic manner is fantastic in my opinion.
Also in my 40s and I remember 128mb MP3's so well! I don't use mine with guitars much, but it can be pretty transparent at certain settings. It can add a sparkle to your signal rather than degradation. The reverb alone is worth the price of admission alone. I sometimes use GenLoss at the end of my chain just as boost or saturator. Again, both of these can do so much more than the tape/Lofi thing. It's almost like the difference between a RAT and Tubescreamer if that makes any sense, haha. I cannot recommend Lossy enough... and every other CB pedal, haha.
I think I see where you're coming from. I also have the GL MKii, Mood mkii, And Warped Vinyl HiFi. Lossy can produce all sorts of wild tones that none of those others can. The mp3 warbling is only one aspect, and it has its moments, but imo the other features are what really shine (and interact quite well). Cyberattack has a great "how to be advanced" video that shows off how interesting the range of possibilities can be, ruclips.net/video/of5VgDO28Po/видео.html if you're not looking for these kinds of sounds then yeah, it probably won't interest you. I was a bit skeptical for some of the same reasons as you mention, but took a chance on it and it quickly became one of my favorite pedals. I have a lot of "ambience" and lofi boxes but nothing else that can produce the same types of pads or washes that the Lossy is capable of. Plus, if you're a midi user, it's easy to set up presets to take advantage of the individual features (ie only using the reverb, only using the filter, etc). And as with all the CB stuff the ramping doesn't hurt either
theyve got a tremolo i havent looked into if it can do ring mod level stuff. CB used to have a phaser and a flanger, but they're discontinued and like 1k each on the used market now.@@elementlab41
@@andybungert You should! I mostly use pedals and amps too, but this is a must have plugin if you can't afford the pedal or want the same sound for 400€ cheaper. Also helps that you can automate and replicate it.

Loving the Lossy as a hardware insert in our sessions! It’s quirky, moody, & keeps me thinking outside of the box.

So beautiful. Love the plugins and to have them in pedal form is 😮 On my wish list for sure!
Awesome!, also, please re-release the Bliss Factory!

i'm really hoping you guys make a ring mod soon, hopefully bring back the phaser and flanger.
I would love this, too! A stereo phaser/flanger/tremolo/ring mod pedal CB would be amazing.
