People in mainland India need to accept and understand the fact that not all areas where people reside are agricultural societies to afford to be vegetarian. Not all people who eat meat is by the explicit choice of theirs. Sometimes societies take shape and thier customs get created with the geography and there is nothing one can do to alter that. I am from Kerala, around 3500 Kilometers away from Nagaland. When I first went to Bangalore, first time in life I saw the North eastern people. For me, I looked them with surprise, for me they were some people living in Indian side near China. I had been to China before. So when I met our North eastern brothers, I used to mention that I have been to China. Soon I realized that they hate to hear that and consider it offensive. I am apologising to my brothers and sisters in north eastern states that, it was my lack of knowledge about these cultures that I thought that they are more of Chinese than Indian. ( Those were the days when there was no RUclips or Qoura, hence my knowledge on geography and culture was extremely bad). One day for sure, I will visit the Nagaland and understand their culture. We Indians are lucky to have such beautiful land and culture in India.

I found the north Eastern people to be some of the coolest people around, very beautiful, well dressed, elegant. We spoke, but what I noticed is that they mostly kept to themselves, they rarely hung out with people outside their own community. There wasn’t any discrimination in the workplace, but people did want to talk to them & be friends with them, but we were never given a chance. I agree there is discrimination but it’s mostly with the ignorant lot, others want to get to know them better, i hope they let us in, so we can show that we care❤️

India was invaded and large numbers of its population have been forcefully converted, some were tricked into conversion and these things created more clashes of cultures. In some other places like the US, red Indians completely lost themselves. The time has come for a new type of expansion and that expansion is through compassion. People are being educated and India will united under a banner of appreciation of the different cultures it inherited.

Nagaland is a mystery place for me before. Since I see comments in our Philippine music, (even though they don't understand, but they like it), to name a few singers: Morissette Amon, SB19, Michael Pangilinan, Budakel, Katrina, KZ Tandingan, Iñigo Pascual, Zack Tabudlo, Arthur Nery, Moira Dela Torre...etc., that most they like. Since then, I did my research where is Nagaland, since I only know India as a whole. Then, I found out they're more like us, and we have lots in common and not the same as India. It's blows my mind and wish to visit this incredible place and share our culture and music. Tears going down on my cheeks when I hear their Christian song in the Church.😥 Mabuhay Nagaland! (Long live Nagaland) greetings from Philippines your Christian brother 🇵🇭🤗 Cheers 🥂 for the love of Christ. For Jesus Christ said in John 14: 6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. We have the same tradition here in Mizoram (also a northeast state in India). We call it “ruai” which means feast and every locality would prepare all kinds of meat and bai and we all gather to eat together. It was passed down from our ancestors. They used to eat in banana leaves and sit in circles and break bread together. But now we use plates, utensils and sit in halls to eat. Even so, I don’t think and i hope this tradition will live on forever in our culture. It’s a really nice way to bond and salute to all the family men and youngsters, children and grandparents who come out to prepare the food for us. We usually have this “ruai” after Christmas and after New Years.

@@andyistphdhpc2726 he said what he heard from the people he talked with. You yourself saw a naga indian say that they don't feel welcomed in mainland india. I personally have seen incidents of discrimination towards different looking people. Calling them chinki, chinese, small eyed, is not uncommon among some of my friends. Not on their face, but they definitely feel this way and talk behind their back. People aren't idiots, you can definitely feel the vibes from others and can identify whether someone is judging you or welcoming you.
You must be lying if you say that all people around you are respectful towards other culture and don't joke about people's looks or languages. Heck, even someone with same language, but different accent are being side eyed.
We Indians are the most discriminating and judgemental people.
This needs to change. Even if NE people are accepted as a whole, discrimination would will exist. Because we all know the differences between north and south India. How northerners make fun of southerners, their skin color, their language, their way of life. Similarly south makes fun of their faux hindi supremacy, their illiteracy, their mindset towards crime being cool, etc.
We must stop judging strangers whom we know nothing about. This, when done as a society, will be the starting point of a real united india.

In my opinion, Nagaland has become the quintissential face of Northeast India. When people in mainland think of Northeast India, their minds seem to instantly think of Nagaland (Maybe followed by Manipur, Arunachal or Assam), maybe's it's the food, the tribes or the culture. I've lost count of so many times when people asked me if I'm from Nagaland even when I said I'm from Meghalaya. I don't know if there's an irony to be said or not, but it is what it is.
