Great Video! As a first-generation Asian immigrant living in NYC myself, I applaud their spirit to search for freedom and better opportunity. But at the end of the day, they are breaking the law to be here, and cities like NYC just don't have the resources and manpower to accommodate their stay. I personally know many illegal immigrants who have taken advantage of our loose border policy and generous government support (free documentation service from our US military, free plane ticket to the city of their choosing after crossing the border, free shelter at 5-star hotels, free medical care for those that came pregnant or with a cold, free schooling for their kids, free debit card for grocery, and free ticket to another city out of NYC etc). It's also not fair for the parents - most of them have to work 12-14 hours at restaurants that underpay them by 50-60%. They will most likely have to do that for the next 20-30 years, making minimum wage at best and relying on government support. The only value proposition is for their children to obtain an American education to potentially break into the skilled labor work force. Alternately, if they were to stay in China, most of them could continue their professions making medium salary in their country, and then send their kids to college in the US legally, thus achieving the same result. No one is forcing them to do this but poor planning on their behalf. I am all pro-immigrant, but they have to do it legally via student or work visa. America is not a charity organization with infinite amount of resources - at the end of the day we have to consider the cruel reality that these illegal immigrants will face and the tremendous government spending coming out of the pockets of everyday Americans and those who immigrated here legally!
Great video, I found it randomly via the mysterious RUclips algorithm (so now that I think about it, it's not directed towards the general audience like myself). A few critiques : It was really hard to read the subtitles sometimes due to the subtitle colors blending in with some photos. Additionally, when I was reading the subtitles, I believe they were referring to the country *Colombia*, not *Columbia*. Last, the reason for the name 'model minority' is because it is a sociological phenomenon that notes predominantly Asians as being highly successful, requiring less or no social or economic assistance, as well as being 'well-adjusted', able to go to college, etc. , not because they 'would work for low wages and never complain'. For example, according to the University of Washington: "MODEL MINORITY The term "model minority" refers to minority groups that have ostensibly achieved a high level of success in contemporary US society." Other than that, the video was great. I hope you make more videos!
Thank you so much for this feedback! My friends and I only had a few hours to edit the video (I think around 6 hours total...) and it was my first time using AI to generate subtitles. I noticed the mistakes in post-production but at the time I couldn't figure out how to fix them,, haha!! Thanks so much though :)

Here I am as a British man trying to figure out how to legally come to America 😂
Please don’t mix up immigrants with migrants; understand they are different stages to becoming a resident.
yes to all of this
