There is always an issue of learning curve when the state recovers a critical national resource such as its petroleum. Management will control the technology. It is the responsibility of the state to dominate the necessary technology, and this takes time. The result instead of the rents going to stockholders and shareholders and the high salaries of executives, it goes into social expenses such as education and healthcare and reducing social inequality as is the case of Venezuela and Ecuador.
I think Dudamel will be considered for the next Conductor of the Berlin Phil, along with 4-5 names that come to mind. Bychkov, yannick nézet-séguin, Nelsons, maybe Chailly. I think any of those choices would be good...which one would be best? I'm not sure yet. I doubt the orchestra is either. Dudamel and Yannick Nézet-Séguin are both DG artists, and BP has signed with DG again when not recording with Rattle.
Yes I completely agree. This guy is flavourless without the masses of rehearsal time awarded to him and his youth orchestra in Venezuela. He hasn't done a successful tour yet with the LA philharmonic. This reading itself is sloppy and fairly pedestrian.
Buena respuesta.
I think all those big names sitting as principals means the orchestra can't follow this guy without the A Team in. The brass blurring the rhythm around :12 makes the timpani player look up and then there's a minute slowdown with a blurred downbeat. That's the conductor's fault, not the players.
You are blinded by your Latino bravado. Comparisons from a Latino about Dudamel are bad taste. Rattle is Dudamel's mentor and friend, your comment is just plain bad manners. Viva Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution.
This classically trained musician, dumb? Please, what a generic and vague comment. Tempo is every bit as important as "character," "expression" and "artistry," whatever that means. Listen to Reiner's version with the CSO and get back to me.
Indeed, but lots of conductors take it faster. Personally, I'm always stunned to hear the CSO version, with the strings, winds and horns playing those rapid-fire triplets in absolute perfect unison...virtuoso playing right there! I think it increases the sense of energy desired of the opening. Frankly, I don't think any group has captured that sense as well as CSO.
Ahh! Auditions!

STRAUSS PRA SRTA. MARIANA GARCEZ RIBEIRO, OUVIR E SE MARAVILHAR COM A MUSICA DE RICHARD STRAUSS
The minute slowing of tempo is a common feature in many recordings of this piece. It's no accident by the conductor.
God do I love Strauss ! Herb Baker
Dudamel the best!!!
1:38 is that Edicson Ruiz in the bass section
Yes, if you're wondering two years later.

"Andante con un poco mosso" must be the tempo heading in Dudamel's edition of the score
hola caro

hola morena
Amo a Gustavo Dudamel....!!!!!
Thank you for stating the obvious.
I just noticed that this piece may potentially have one of those double-tonic complexes between C/E major

Kein Vergleich zur vulkanischen Energie, die Karl Böhm entfesselt.

Oh fuck off
I've played under him, he's an incredibly talented conductor and musician
I’d really like to see you do better.

Dudamel to replace Sir Simon?
for sure all the brass players haha
Bei Barenboim gefällt es mir besser
rattle is better than dudamel still..
Hey Berlin Phil, how about hiring some women lol
It's magnificent pleayd because not many women. The orchestra got male character sharpness and tenderness. With more women sharpness disappear.
Wal
🤣

I think Dudamel could make even a better job with that orchestra than Sir Simon Rattle.
It's just my opinion.
Too slow
una4all1 what a dumb comment. Purely focused on speed and nothing about character or expression. Ever heard of artistry?
Energy is an essential aspect of that iconic introduction. Reiner and Solti have got it right imo
This classically trained musician, dumb? Please, what a generic and vague comment. Tempo is every bit as important as "character," "expression" and "artistry," whatever that means. Listen to Reiner's version with the CSO and get back to me.
This is actually the right tempo.
