Why is the insurance group so high? I expected it to be similar to yaris hybrid.

Group 24 insurance ? What's all that about ? My current car costs me £290 per year. I'm getting quotes for the new mg3 of over £1000 !
Just profiteering by insurance companies. Should be group no more than group 15 which is where the Clio is. Old MG3 was group 7
Unlike other Chinese brands, MG is an established player in the UK and European markets. I can only think that it's the power output that gives it a high insurance rating. 194bhp is hot hatch territory. Ford Fiesta ST3 had 197bhp.
Thinking of cancelling my order because of the insurance quoted I'm getting.
