      He's just depressed cause Evermotion makes him model toasters and chairs all day for a shitty salary

    Modeling in 3D max sucks... people that have used other apps will tell you the same thing. It has a gazillion tools to do specific tasks.. as opposed to better apps having far fewer but more general purpose tools to accomplish the same task. So you find yourself constantly clicking and switching tools for every small step. I don't model anything in Max... I just use it for materials and rendering.

      Advection357 what sofware do you use for modelling?

    • @Advection357
      @Advection357 9 лет назад

      matasareanue Softimage..
      Modo is also supposed to be a good modeling app. But keep in mind, I'm not used to modeling anything in max.. so I'm slow & get frustrated. I'm sure with some customizing you can set up keyboard shortcuts & speed up the work. The thing with Softimage is that it's very nicely set up for modeling by default. Autodesk killed it, but that still doesn't stop me from using it ;)

      SK kaz Hmm.. depends what kind of modeling you want to do. If you want hard surface or industrial modeling (like cars, appliances) you can try Rhino 3D. That's the app I started 3D with.. it's a NURBS modeling app.. so it works with drawing curves/lines & making surfaces out of them. For general purpose polygon modeling, there are many apps.. I would go with Maya (which is an industry standard, so you can't go wrong with Maya) or Blender (which is free), 3D max is ok as well. For organic modeling/sculpting..(like making trees, creatures & other living beings) there is Zbrush , Mudbox & 3D Coat. So it depends what kind of things you want to model.. each of those apps has it's strengths & weaknesses.. so it's a personal choice on what you want to learn first.

    The whisper is so FREAKING annoying that I got to stop watching. Even if it's actually a good tutorial.
