★ 4K 🇩🇪 Karlsruhe Gbf - Karlsruhe Hbf cab ride [10.2021] cab ride, Germany Führerstandsmitfahrt V160

- In this video, we take a look at the junctions in Karlsruhe and take a rare track that connects the marshalling yard with the main station. The track is not equipped with mainline signals, just shunting signals.
We take our locomotive to the "fuel station" to get filled up. Since filming, the local signal boxes have been retired and the whole area is controlled remotely. The Willy (Orange W signs) have been replaced by shunting signals like the ones we see at the start - making this video a historic document.
Hope you enjoy the short outing in Karlsruhe, we'll be passing through the station in future videos.

Thank you! Once more you bring us a time capsule! My first time in Karlsruhe was as a child 50 years ago - fascinating to see how the track layout has changed \m/
I always enjoy anything to do with trains. Shuting, washing the trains, filling up the gas tank. It's great fun. Thanks for showing it.
Glad you enjoyed it
More great exciting scenery from the cab on each side
of the train with buildings, fields, highways, back roads,
rivers and many other sights of this beautiful countryside.
🇩🇪🇩🇪
That windscreen wiper would drive you nuts.
Super film
Danke Team, 😀. Every video has its own charm. Good to have a small cab ride juxtaposed tram lines in Karlsrunhe
Thanks! 😃
What a location! I love being in this place! Such a feeling! 🔥🔥🔥
I'm curious, what do you like about it?
Moin, danke für eine Fahrt in Deutschland
This is excellent 👍 I really want to see more of this classic train 🚆
Thank you very much!
Thank you, your video was very informative and interesting. Regards Ian, UK 🇬🇧.
That's a beautiful machine !
Agreed
This video was different of course. But it was still interesting to watch.
Thank you. More coming in thiss locomotive of full lines.
@@lorirocks777 thanks 🙏 anyway. I have no problem 😉 with my native language English but, being a person who sees all life in colour, I like 👍 to use the translate button to chose the language of given country to blend in with all people.
@@NickyMitchell85 Oh right :) ... All good then! Thanks
Dann weißt du, was rollende Müllhalden sind.
An welchen Strecken photographierst du denn so? Postest du deine Sichtungsbilder auf DSO?
Wow, German train stations have a Whataburger!
They do?
@@lorirocks777 Its a joke. Whataburger is a southern-US based fast food chain (and one I dearly miss). Their logo is a big orange "W".
@@natehill8069 Oh, I didn't know you were referring to those W's :) Yes, I've been to whataburger a few times. They were good burgers. I also really liked raising cane's.
So, the loco fuels up in order to go...park on a siding? Very interesting video, though. It's nice to see what goes on "behind the scenes" so to speak.
Usually you fuel up after a run, so the next person has fuel for whatever they have to do.
Thanks for taking me along with you, how long does it take to fuel the engine? it was an interesting short trip.
Thanks. About 20 minutes
@@lorirocks777 Hallo 🙋 jetzt hast du mich neugierig gemacht 🤷 bist du also selbst Lokführer 🛤️🚂 👮
@@rolandaushilfstrucker2385 Ja, in CH, D & AT
dang it would have really been cool to watch the fueling being done !!! How long does it take for a standard refueling?
About 10 - 20 Minutes..
What are the metal knocks that are heard for example at 5:05?
The wipers reaching their end position
@@lorirocks777daaaamn they are annoying lol
Am I wrong to say that I understand trying to cut cost but cut cost not cutting the grass to make it a little easier to see the signals?
Also enjoy your videos a lot!
Thanks. The grass does get cut, however there are times it grows faster than others.
This locomotive must have been rebuilt extensively. I don't hear the distinct ticking sound of a Hasler speedometer.
It's in near original condition actually. It doesn't even have a meter to measure kilometres driven. You can see the cab when we change directions.
The German V160 Family got never equipped with Hasler speedometers. They are really uncommon on German locomotives. The manufacturer is VDO…and they do not ticking…
The windshield wipers should be electrically operated, not hydraulicly. Terrible noise it generates inside of the cabin.
I didn't mind it
@@lorirocks777 😀
Electricity hadnt been invented yet back then
What kind of train is it, the one in the still shot at 0:23?
Yes
It's an BR628/928, which is an "old" passengertrain and in the meantime replaced by newer ones
man that window wiper is obnoxious !!!
Probably because the mic was right next to it.
@@lorirocks777 sounds like the old air pressure ones too not the newer electric motor ones.
Windshield wiper was annoying as hell....
What do you want me to do about it?
Corrupted video. It stops every 5 to 10 seconds for 30 seconds. I couldn't watch it.
It works fine for me
I've no problems at all, check your internet connection
@@gerdvomhau4499 My internet is fine. I've watched dozens of videos today and this is the only one that fails.
No thanks, a bit one paced for my liking
Well, you can't please them all
Living next door (no, not to Alice!), but I've never been able to get such a close look on what's going on there. Thank you so much, lorirocks777!
Nice short journey, Is the blue loco still operational thankyou.🤠😎🦘ps What does diesel hydraulic mean? cheers bob.
Diesel Hydraulic means it uses oil to tranfer power from the engine to the wheels, a bit like an automatic car. Diesel electrics drive a generator which powers electric motors.
Yes, the blue loco was refurbished since this was filmed.
