  • Largely industrial and residential, the East Side is also home to the AT&T Center and Freeman Coliseum, where stands regularly fill up for sporting events and concerts. In winter, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo takes over these venues for several weeks, bringing with it a carnival, petting zoo, traditional rodeos and music. During the summer months, Splashtown San Antonio water park is popular with families.
Also this is where I was raised.

Back when Sam Huston high school were the Cherokees, now they are the Hurricanes. I was in 7grade the first year they opened Davis there… same year the crips and bloods had a shootout in side Sam Huston high.

That’s crazy, but what’s even crazier is I remember that, I was in middle school at the time; I was going to King at the time and living in the East Terrace. I appreciate you thou for checking out my channel and don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t done so. But I definitely remember that Eastside from Wheatley Courts to the Stixx to the Rigsby.

The flood of 98' washed out the Stixx. It only partially damaged the house I grew up in. For others they had to basically have there properties demolished due to all the flood damage. Now its all weedy & sh** cause the City dont have cut the grass. Everytime I get to fly bk hm I like to ride through & reminisce. Again!!! I appreciate the upload. @@HoodAdventures Yep!! That's what happen we use to live on the dead end of Sterling. I remember bk in I think it was the early 90s when every Sunday the MLK Park use to be lit people parked at the Eastside Boys & Girls Club & all along the grass on MLK behind our house by the freedom bridge blasting music. Then pop! pop!!pop! ( gun shots) eventually they put a end to that. Not sure if u remember that. The block was always hot, that store u drove by on da hill I think was called MerryLand at first I wanted to say Jolly Time 😂but that was the one by Skinnys I think😂.

@@meepmeep1429 you are right though, even though Camelot and the Glenn is hood too back in the day it always felt suburban to us, I really didn’t feel the threat of gang violence on that side of town unless I was at Windsor Park Mall. I think The Glenn and Camelot was a blood hoods or Bamelot as they call it but it never felt like a threat coming from where we grew up. It got wild after the Eastside got kinda quiet in my opinion.

You are right so much has changed; I wish I could find some old East Terrace videos but I’ve only been able to see pictures. I’m surprised they haven’t tore down some of the projects on the Westside like Cassiano Homes. Did you live in the East Terrace?

I can't see that Church's Chicken across from my old school without thinking of the shootout that happened midday between an ex-husband and his ex-wife & her new boyfriend.
