      Hi,
Original engine was AVH linked to Automatic Gear Box I found BEV from another Golf with 5 speed manual. Well, it will be okay - mail difference between AEG, AVH (early production) mid AZG, BEV and lates model BBW of 2.0L engine is Fuel rail, Injectors, TCM, ignition module and few other wiring differences. But main hardware: engine block, Cylinder head, manifolds are identical - just pay attention to that. Just swap all components, I mentioned before to the donor engine.

You will need gear box, clutch parts, wiring harness, ECU ect. Plus a lot of time to play with it. To do the project like that I need to get 2 vehicles), one of the parts donor, but I don't think that will be the cool project. Let me know if you have any questions)

Hey Shade! Yeah you can put 1.9 swapping 2.0 gasoline one. Just a matter of time and money you are ready to put in. I think cheaper and less headache will be just buy vw with factory 1.9. I was going to replace the engine in my 2004 Golf. I bought it at a police impound a week ago for $800. The engine is locked up. I don't think the broke a$$ mofo ever change the oil. @ 4:45 I decided to pay a shop to do it.

      Hi F165,
That's smart decision if you don't have time or don't want to deal with all possible after installations issues. Bzw, thanks for watching and subscribing.

Thanks Brian! I tried my best to make it easy and clear. It actually took me 4 times longer than actually doing swap, without attention to all details and filming:).

East-West engines are the absolute worst, no wonder mechanics charge so much $$ in labour to replace them.
