Actually, at 200 watts(!), at a lot of the venues I play, this amp doesn't need to be mic'd. The only downside is a laser beam sound cone, so if you're not standing in the right spot, sometimes it's hard to hear yourself. The audience can tho, lol.
Oh this is the amp I use. Very useful, light & small, I can keep it with me in the airplane, & the acoustic sound is very nice. The reverb is really good too. I put it directly in the PA thanks to the incorporated DI which renders me independant from the sound engineer, sometimes it can save the evening :D
