Bowsr also has these sort of setups for Phase 5. I highly recommend checking this out, you might be able to do something similar, even just by firing a rocket or a frag beforehand to do just a little extra damage. ruclips.net/video/HkgxaZDK_h4/видео.html

@@juanjoyaborja.3054 I disagree. The fight sucks for quite a few reasons. Mostly it's because of the tiny ass arena, the stupid lasers, Samur himself not having many attacks, and the cluster of enemies
Thank you so much! I needed that so much, i was already complaining in Allstins discord how desperate i am with that fight. Two guys tried to help me out but nothing worked out for me. I'll definately try your tips too!
@@horrorjunkie96 tbh, i cant remember. Bit by now the fight got very easy. Blood maykr nerf, spirit nerf and the demon respawn time got drastically longer But i beat it before all of those changes
I think what helped me in the beginning of the last stage was I used meathook on Samur at the beginning when he appears on the center platform, "ram" him.....shotgun blast.....then use up both blood punches for immense damage before he teleports again. Then handle the possesed demons accordingly.
There is also another alternative in phase 2 that I used for my UN run. It might not be suitable for everyone but it sure was for me. If you go to the right side and stay close to the center platform of the arena after the cutscene, you can focus on killing the hell knight first without the mancubus interfering at all. For some reason, the mancubus would just stay where he spawned and that means if you go to the right side, the center platform would block the mancubus attack. Simply lock-on burst the hell knight 2-3 times and then destroy the spirit. After that, chainsaw one of the zombie and then lock-on burst the mancubus til it dies. The problem that you could face while using this method would be avoiding the mancubus projectiles (because it shoots super fast). But, after you understand the rhythm of its attack, I believe you would an idea of how to dodge it. I would recommend you to practice it on nightmare before trying it out on UN. I hope this could help.
i dont care if this video is 2 years old, im still typing this comment. i know you probably wont see this. but thank you so much for the arbalest tip in the PE and DK phase, i have been struggling on this bossfight for 5 months and after watching this video i did it in 2 more tries. everywhere else on youtube people happen to have BFG ammo, but i somehow ran out before the last phase, so this video really helped me overcome this fight. thank you so much, had i not found this video who knows how much longer i would have been stuck lol
Nice guide! What do you make of using the ice bomb on the incoming regular PE? I think it helps. The arbalest can be tricky on the PE too where he dashes, though chrono strike seems to make it easier This was a good one
I think Ice Bomb could work but the optimal thing to do is definitely BFGing the wall just as it spawns. It makes it take only 1 Arbalest shot to get it staggered at that point, or 1 shot to just die entirely. Only issue is the timing on that is rough, or rather, unpracticed.
Thanks as always man. I typically play through all the dlc on regular nightmare, then switch to I’m too young to die when I get to the last slayer gate and this boss lol. Maybe these Strats will get me the last remaining milestone.
Apparently there is a bug with the blood makyr where if you microwave beam it when it’s attacking, you could permanently disable its shield and prevent it from using its primary attacks.. it would only shoot from its staff.. I got it to work the the samur fight so if that helps then ur welcome
Also remember to equip your extra life rune as soon as phase 5 starts! Lots of people save their runs at the last second because of it. I got lucky and beat Samur on UN the first time I got this far and I definitely got killed by the blood maykr and was saved by that rune just before meme beaming the last spirit.
You can do phase 4 very quick. Get below 75 health. Go to the first spawn of Samuel and equip the shield. Blood punch twice and quickly grab the mega health and be ready for phase 5
Yeah thats what 100% runners use for that Phase. This is more meant for casual players looking to do it, and while I dont think thats a bad strategy, I also think a lot of players would be too fearful to get down to 75 to reliably do the Blood Punch strat.
In the... second phase, Samur is put into a GK state. On the opposite platform, there’s a respawning pickup of shells. Use that to meathook + ssg him, till you’re full on armor. No, you can’t meathook PB him, and it does I believe 10 armor per ssg rather than whatever else we usually get from enemies. Helpful if you really, REALLY want ensure surviving the next couple waves, as you won’t be sticking around for excess armor, or just to have said excess armor be a backup in case you do take damage.
I know this is old, but I found just cooking the spirited dread knight and pain elemental with microwave beam to be effective. PE first then dread knight, but you o have to keep an eye on plasma ammo and those makyrs.
Almost everyone: Plays PC to get every shot on Samur Me on console: save and exit, going back to previous levels and get extra lives and extra BFG ammo for the Nightmare run of Ancient Gods part 1
There's a spreadsheet of how resistant enemies are to certain weapons in several Discords, most notably the Speedrunning Discord. Apparently possessed enemies aren't so resistant to Arbalest specifically, and Pain Elementals already die in 2 Arbalest shots because they're "weak" to it.

@@BloodShot9001 now we're talking real meta stuff, oof
As I'm doing in the video, stay on the upper platforms and DON'T change platforms much. Just sidestep his attacks and/or use Energy Shield (if you do not know, Energy Shield gives 360 degree protection from everything for no ammo). When the Blood Maykr spawns, get to one of the corner platforms so you can have eyesight on the Blood Maykr. If you're bad at hitting headshots, pause and equip Chrono Strike so that it's easier to hit the headshot.
You should probably have at least 1 BFG ammo going into the fight since there's a BFG ammo right beforehand, but I understand some people might Fast Travel back to the Slayer Gate theoreitcally. I'd say the BFG for Phase 2 is more important than Phase 5, so try to just get Arbalest Shots on the Pain Elemental and then after its dead and the Spirit is Dead, use Lock-On spam on the Dread Knight. If you have NO BFG ammo at all, then I'd say Lock-On spam the Hell Knight in Phase 2 until it's dead, hide from the Manc and meme beam the spirit, then get your ammo back. From there, Chaingun Shield + Blood Punches, and some Lock-Ons or SSG shots can take the Mancubus out decently fast, but that phase in general shouldn't be all that difficult since the only 2 enemies are the Manc + Hell Knight.
The Pain Elemental and the Dread Knight spawn during the cutscene too fast, which lets the Spirit repossess them. You can theoretically shoot a BFG that only hurts the Pain Elemental, but the timing isn't well known.
Hey guys! For our DLC let's make headshots really important to our game and alienate every player using a controller instead of mouse and keyboard! Genius! Fuck this constantly damaging environment, and fuck the Ancient Gods for ending such a great DLC on such a sour note.
I'd disagree, but to each their own. Dark Lord is probably the most uninspired boss even if it wasn't 5 phases... But also it's 5 phases/health bars. I don't mind these bosses like Icon and Samur that more rely on the pressure from other demons to help.
This fight is fucking bullshit. I've been at it now for about 1.5 hrs. The phase with the pain elemental and blade guy is horseshit. Edit - said fuck it and turned on sentinel armor and won on the 2nd try. Constantly dying while trying to microwave beam a spirt gets old.
