I have just bought one, it's an absolute joy to drive and so quiet and smooth, the interior is stunning and I really don't want to get out of it to go in the house.........
@@sparko2012 thats the one i have. 2013 S portfolio 275hp. The engine 306DT has a timing belt. Every 100k miles the belt and the water pump have to be replaced. Let me know if you need any help
Just bought one of these, 2012 plate. I'm 23 years old and I think most would consider this car "for old people" but it looks great can't wait for it to be delivered.
I have recently bought a 2015 R-sport black edition which has the sporty styling and 20" Draco wheels. It's the 2.2 which I have chipped and 0-60 is now 6secs and 48mpg. Great cars.
Great review. Thanks.. I would encourage anyone to test drive the XF before buying a German car. I have the 3.0 s and on my first journey I got 47mpg at a steady 70mph. It's so smooth and quiet and the interior is amazing. At night it's really cool too with the blue ambient lighting inside. I got mine for 10k with 80k on the clock and it looks and drives like new. The 20 inch wheels i have do look good but there is a price to pay. The ride is a little harder.
you're 100% right. I had bit more luck - got recently for a 10k with 51k miles on the clock with service history. Never actually driven any German car of this class, but I don't think I will have to.
I have brought a Jaguar XF R Sports 2.2i Diesel Automatic 2015 and I love 💕 it’s great to drive so comfortable and a pleasure to own a luxury prestigious car 👍🏻 Thank you Jaguar 🐆🇬🇧👍🏻
I had an older shape to this XF, 2009 model and loved it. Now I have the new shape XF and it pales in comparison as far as fit, finish, quality is concerned. The body is all aluminum and the body just feels too light. I loved the heavy feel of my older XF because you could "feel" the car while driving it and just know what it's doing but the new car is numb and uninspiring. It looks awesome, but the drive doesn't live up to the looks and neither does the interior. I'm currently looking for a very low mileage XFR and will go back to the older XF.
This is true I got my 2010 premium luxury XF with only 50 k on the odometer for 16 k . Brand new it was around 55 k. That’s a huge discrepancy and a lot of car for your money 💰
Rather strangely, and I dont mean this as criticism - this car reminds me a lot of a Holden Commodore (the last Australian made ones, not the current imported one). Generally the same conservative quality impression, similar size - even very similar in small things like the steering wheel and the plug ins in the centre divider.
Don't be scared of high miles on these, the 3.0 is a Ford engine where you can buy lots of ancillary bits for pennies. Water pump £40, etc. Excellent car.
Thanks for the review I dream of owning a Jag XF, and this is the generation and spec I'd have. I prefer the styling of the 2011-2015 models, and I need the range/economy of a diesel with the oomph of a twin turbo V6 for the motorway and rural driving I do
8:09 that's gotta be the biggest queue for a bus I've ever seen at a single bus stop😂, but great review! Love these cars but don't think they'd be my first choice if I was going to be spending 20K on a car thought, however great if you want to look posh😂
LOL re: bus queue. It was the same on the other side of the road too...outside a holiday camp. It was a lovely drive though...superb car for the money. Thank you for the comment!!
I love the style and ride comfort. Acceleration is not that quick by todays standards but it's adequate. The torque from the 3 litre diesels makes for an effortless drive and no turbo lag, surprisingly quiet too. I've owned mine four years now, no problems so far at 80k miles.
Im about to buy one of these LOVE the clean uncluttered centre console and the top quality leather seats. Well done Jaguar but sort out the few ‘niggles’..........7/10👍🏻(
Great review sir. This XF stole my heart and this year maybe i will make the big step and buy it. You sound like an E350 Benz fan. Not a bad car as well but the rear is ugly. Im between 2014 XF s portfolio , Bmw 640d gran coupe and Audi a7 quattro. All 2014 and all 3.0L diesel. Now when all new gen cars have low emissions a powerful diesel its a must buy
I do like a Merc and agree, the rear is a bit ugly. If you scroll back, you will see we also did a review on an E350 (new shape) and a 640d Gran Coupe.
Which one did you ultimately go for? Before I bought my XF, I also test drove the A7 3.0 TDI, and honestly, it felt a bit dull. Lovely interior, but something about the steering just didn't feel right.
