I'm glad you brought up ISO vs. Shutter speed. You can take a noisy image and make it good/great in post but you can't fix a blurry image as easily (tools only work in limited cases). I shoot a lot with a Fujifilm X-H2S and these modern cameras retain a lot of color accuracy even at 12,800 ISO. So shooting 2000, 4000, 6400 ISO to get a faster shutter is a trade-off you WANT to make in the field.
I noticed on occasion - even or especially with the lenses with a large front element - you weren't using the lens hood (even with strong cross lighting, where I would have expected a softening of contrast) - is there a reason you left it off?
I spent a week in the park. Got some great landscapes… but no wildlife. Spent days hanging out waiting. Nothing. I did see a moose at 5:00 am as I was leaving camp one day. Didn’t have the setup to get a shot.
If you want to keep the mosquitoes away, use a few drops of Geraniol (perhaps sold as rose oil). You can try washing with Sunlight soap which also contains Geraniol. I have stopped chasing mosquitoes when I sleep in the car. A couple drops of Geraniol changes behaviour and I can let them out in the morning. I am fully clothed and I have one drop in each "corner" of my hat and one drop at the tip of my middle fingers. I wear mittens. If I don't include a drop on the middle fingers, the mosquitoes will have a party on my hand because I carry a tripod so the tip of the middle finger will be furtherest away from me.
You know you can talk about something and less on yourself, show the nature. Dude, yellow shirt - nature will see you for miles. A good camera will do well with high ISO and free lens to use and be a fan...
Bay gulls really got me. What a beautifully shot series!

This seems to have been shot in the summer. FYI, Sony A1 and all sony's has APS-C mode just letting you know.
