Ive been known to buy boxes of sewing supplies, not for the box but all the cool things inside! I have a lifetime supply of handsewing needles in really interesting packs ! Miscellaneous crochet hooks of bone and ivory ! Even a rug hook ! So much fun! 🎉
The Home Needle Case was my favorite thing. That's probably really old given the ink color, style of art work & thickness of the paper. It definitely deserves a frame. I can imagine it being a keepsake from when a child learned to sew or something from watching grandma sew.
The long darning needle is likely a short doll needle which are used for going through a doll or teddys torso to attach the arms especially when using joints.
I adore my local antique mall. I saw tons of semi-vintage patterns (my idea of vintage and yours may vary due to age ) I, too, love to find treasure boxes and finding a jackpot! I hope you're having a lovely holiday season and all its prep.
the long needle is also used for "adding" buttons to cushions or pillows - the length of the needle helps when the cushion is really thick - I don't think the "official" name is "darning needle" but I could be wrong
Great vintage sewing items! Love that box ! ❤

This was so fun! I'm primarily a knitter but who doesn't love a vintage crafty haul? :)
Hey. You got some cute items! The strawberry should be a pin and needle sharpener, an is usually attached to a pin cushion. Thanks for the memories.

The long needle is a mattress needle, for sewing through kapok matresses to create cushioning, long before spring mattresses became a thing.
That’s for making dolls so you can poke all the way thru a stuffed toy to make stitched eyes, dimples etc.
The 5” needle is for doll making
That needle could also be for needle tatting :)
I think that long needle is for weaving
