    Yeeeeeeeeeeeessss. Pure Awesome
I will write as I watch the video with my suggestions to share
Im gonna do a video on mine with an OEM pod and a Nexus 7 1st gen and I'm going off this video(Which I will reference as well). I appreciate the upload. A way to fix the USB cable on the tablet is to use an L shaped cable instead of stripping the original. When it comes to powering on or off without root you can use the "Stay Awake" feature on developer options. This keeps the screen on while charging and set it to shut the display after X amount of seconds after you turn the car off(assuming your 2.1 amp socket is connected to an ignition source). You basically have the table on 24/7 but if you daily your Spyder it shouldn't be an issue. I understand if your spyder is gonna be a weekend car it makes sense to do what you did with the root. With the nexus 7 there are no physical buttons on the front (home button is on the screen which rotates with the screen) so it becomes inaccessible when the key is off therefore no one knows that is an actual tablet. The launcher you used is amazing. I see the torque pro stuff as well great work. I also see you already have a double din head unit with a screen which I don't have one so the table for me will more of a media interface with the radio via AUX cable. With that I can have Spotify, Pandora, Google maps etc while keeping the FM radio and volume. The OEM pod has a rear vent which I'm planning to use a PC fan use cool it a little.I don't recommend gluing the pod to the dash for servicing purposes. I love your take on this and will share my info once I do I. Again I appreciate the upload and keep the videos coming.

Hey buddy I said I'd get it up this week for you, I'm not kidding if you hadn't requested it probably wouldn't have been that quick lol. You raise some great points, I couldn't find an L shaped micro usb cable so that's why I opted to mod one I had. The nexus sounds like a better option visually for the pod for a more OEM look perhaps. Thanks for adding your comments which I'm sure will be helpful to the community. And thanks for your feedback, much appreciated fella :) 👍

Looks great Mark! I always find the hardest part is the wiring and hiding it lol. If screen glare does bother you, you can always put an anti glare screen protector on it 😉👍

Thanks Niamh. It was a pain filming but causes no issues day to day or with the roof down/off. Hope you are doing ok. Not seen a vid from you in a while :)

That's pretty cool and certainly looks better than a bunch of regular gauges.

New windshield, tinted windows and a stereo. Nothing drastic. Might lower it yet, not sure. I'm on holidays for the month of July so I can't be spending all my money on an old truck lol

The issue is having something fit the aperture neatly whilst shielding it from the glare of the sun.

Mark, is it a pain to reach and touch the screen while driving? seems kind of far forward. would you be able to have some sort of remote to use it normally

Hey Jason. I can drive and use the screen but it is a but further away then I would like. I think when you look at where modern car touchscreens are placed now they tend to be up the front of the dash rather than midway. I use the screen mainly for gauges in torque pro or dashcommand so it doesn't cause me too much issue. I have used it for navigation as well (which is a visual improvement to looking down at the factory head unit mount position of my android head unit) but you set your route up and then pretty much don't need to touch it again. Using android auto is a good option for navigation and music combined with Google assistant voice commands. I would certainly recommend big screen buttons though as it would be difficult to accurately select small screen buttons, especially when driving. I'm not too sure on a possible remote option. I guess it depends on what you might want to use it for. Voice commands night be your friend here. ... hope that helps ☺

@@DadDiaries I have had multiple cars with voice commands, in combination with wind/ac noise sometimes it gets it completely wrong. I used to use voice commands for navigation, not pay attention and it would enter an address that sounded similar but not the same. I would end up driving aimlessly to another location with a similar street name in a different town. It would be cool if some sort of small joystick could be implemented, maybe it could sit on wheel, or where the fog light switches are.

I want to house a race dash in something like this. Would you be able to give me some dimensions so i can figure out if it is possible and which one is optimal for me? Thanks!
