Now, on to the flight: This one had something special in store for me: My first trip on one of Delta Air Lines' refurbished Boeing 777's with Delta's new Delta One Suites. This is Delta Air Lines' flagship business class product, which has been expanded from its introduction on the Airbus A350.
Slowly, Delta are upgrading their 777 fleet to incorporate these new cabins. The route between LAX and SYD isn't supposed to be served by these upgraded 777's with the Delta One Cabin until April of 2019, but today was my lucky day because the aircraft I was on - N706DN - had just been refurbished to incorporate the latest Delta Air Lines cabin interiors.
In this video, we'll explore the Delta One 777's cabins: The Delta Air Lines Economy Cabin, which is laid out in an industry-leading 3-3-3 configuration. The Delta Air Lines Premium Select cabin, which is laid out in a 2-4-2 configuration. And the Delta Air Lines Delta One - or Business Class - cabin, which is laid out in a 1-2-1 configuration.
I'll share my impressions of Delta Air Lines Refurbished 777 with the New Delta One Suites: The good, the bad, and the ugly!
We'll go in-depth into the Delta One Suite, checking out the seat itself, the lie-flat bed, the food, the inflight entertainment, and the business class service. Was Delta's new Delta One Suite worth it? You be the judge!

As a fairly new subscriber…. I LOVE these older videos. Something about watching/hearing the lesser quality video just seems so raw and barebones. Really makes me appreciate how much you’ve developed as a flight reviewer and truly appreciate all the years of hard work and effort into becoming who you are. We recently flew in the Delta One suites on a flight from Atlanta to Tokyo Narita. Great experience, and the Delta One cabin crew was amazing, as always. I think Delta hit a homerun with this makeover.

Great video, Jeb! One thing I really love about the approach to LAX is how you can see the progress on the construction site of the new Los Angeles Stadium @ Hollywood Park in Inglewood (Future home of NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers) outside the plane window! You can see its ginormous concrete pillars very prominently at 11:41. Very cool!

You two guys are a breath of fresh air for all travellers with succinct presentation without airline bias. Great stuff to reflect upon before booking our next flight. What also makes a difference is the sense of humour, for after all if one cannot enjoy flying where is the fun? Fun for me every time I take off to a new destination, perhaps a new type of plane or perhaps thinking about your experience and savouring the moment. Look forward to sharing with you the possibilities of flying Melbourne to Paris direct or with you Jeb, Chicago to Melbourne; see you in the sky!

Hey Jeb - I always enjoy your videos! One minor suggestion - can you normalize your audio between narration and "live" recorded audio? The narration is much quieter so I have to turn up and down constantly.

Nice review. That new Delta One Suite looks amazing. I was surprised to see that Delta wasn't using a better set of headphones. I love the Bose headphones that American uses. I primarily fly with American but I have been testing Delta out. I really wish I could take the best of each and make just one airline out of them LOL
Two of my favorite youtubers in one video. Great way to start the morning. Great video Jeb! Flew many times on the Delta One product to europe on A330 and to china on 767. The 767 is just the opposite of the cabin you flew on. They need to discontinue the 767. Happy Holidays. Travel safe.
I personally love the Delta B767 and think it is a great addition to Delta's fleet.Although I do agree,they need to get rid of the B767-300 and the 767-300ER.I hope they get rid of them and get more A350s.

Hey Jeff, I noticed you made the same mistake many customers traveling the Delta Suites do when opening the suite door. You put your finger on the emergency release lock at the top of the door. That lock if pushed, opens the door out to the aisle instead of retracting it properly towards the back. The reason why you opened the door properly is because you used your other hand and pushed it back using the handle below the emergency release. Had you released the emergency lock, the door would have not been able to fully retract to the open position. I made that mistake and had to have a flight attendant reset the door. Apparently this is something most passengers mistakenly do so appears to be a design flaw. Also you and Dennis make a cute couple :)
And now Delta's retiring all the 777's - crazy times!
Great video man! I fly on X-Plane a lot and I often fly the Delta 777 and Delta or AA 737 on X-Plane. I often fly those between Seattle and Toronto, and sometimes from Toronto or New York over to the west coast like to LAX or SFO. Anyways, great video!

Thanks for this! U didn’t give the headphones a chance though. I recently discovered that the Delta One headphones have like an IMAX experience!! What did u try to watch? When I watched Avengers: End Game, the headphones vibrated in unison with the special effects. It was very cool and made me no longer want to use my personals in flight. Betcha didn’t know that! ;-) If I hadn’t have forgotten my aux cord, I would never have discovered this delight!

Great video, as always. Economy 3-3-3 sounds like Heaven to me! Very few airlines use 3-3-3 on the 777 anymore; Delta, apparently; Japan, ANA, and El Al, I think.

I flew the old delta one on the 747s and it was amazing. This looks sooo much better! It's nice they have doors now. I have to fly this next time I go to China.
I've been on that plane, but it was with the old system. It looks so much better with the retrofit, can't wait to fly it on my yearly trip to the US!
Was blazed watching this and got really confused when 12:12 Dennis came on playing you.
I was just on that same flight 7 days ago and it was great. We had different food and entertainment system was great. I am a larger person but the space was still great. The entire flight was 5 *****. I loved the video and please keep them coming!!

See, I love these trip reports for 2 reasons:
1: I want to know what to expect. If I am going to be traveling on Delta One, I would like to be fully aware of what is going on in the cabin. A lot of trip reporters don't do that.
2: You spend more time talking than there is music playing. If I am watching a trip report, I want to hear the person's voice instead of seeing a caption below. I mean, if your channel always does that, that's fine, but your channel just goes above and beyond all of my expectations.
I usually have criticisms on videos and I tell the channel what they can do differently, but for this one, I have no words. Well done.

The Delta one suites are such an improvement over the old product by the looks of things and I would love to try the product. Very surprised that pyjamas are not offered on such a long flight. Also, what an intro... my top two trip reporters on form, must have watched it back 4 times!
I never wear the pajamas. I do ask for the bed to be made up though as it makes a difference.

Hey Jeb. I‘m picky with my headphones as well. I use the BOSE QC 25 and I‘m really impressed how good the Noise Cancelling function is. I think these Brand is one of the best on the Market.
I have a technical question about using noise-cancelling headphones inflight. I have adapters to allow me to use standard 3.5 mm plug-equipped headphones with two-prong jack arrangements. But I know that airline-supplied noise-cancelling headphones, which are often cheap and inferior to my own Bose headphones, use a three-prong arrangement. Is the third prong used solely to power the headphones? If so, does that mean I should be able to use my battery-equipped Bose headphones using my regular two-prong apapters?

a nice, unbiased review of the new Delte One product!
I wanted to provide some thoughts on the “noise canceling headphones” which is something you speak to on every Business Class review. Your Bose earbuds will win almost every time as they are directly in your ear canal, blocking a large % of sound vs. an Around the Ear or Over the Ear headphone. Also, for some folks, having an Earbud in your ear for multiple hours can be very uncomfortable, as we all have different size & shaped ear canals.
The other difference to note is hygiene, Headphones are easier to clean than earbuds, could you imagine the number of lawsuits for people who contracted an ear infection here in the States if that were to happen!?
So maybe moving forward, to be a fairer comparison, you have some Bose Headphones vs. the Airlines headphones? I’d suggest a more “Apples to Apples” type comparison.
Anyways, keep up the nice work, and the funny banter between & your Aussie mate, Dennis 😉👍
That said Bose is known to be one of the industries best in ear or over, So they should beat almost everything out there in Business and for some even First. I just wish Bose would make a three pin plug.

I took the same trip (SYD-LAX) on Delta 777 a year ago on the older Business class setup (Herringbone). I am glad to see the upgrade. To bad about no more pajamas they were the most comfortable I still use them I’ll just have to remember to pack them on the next long flight. I don’t know if you are going to do a review of Australia but I find it one of the best unheralded destinations (maybe it is the long distance that keeps Americans from visiting).

I have rode on N706DN on JFK to ATL but in Comfort+. It’s such a nice aircraft. The 777 is my favorite plane in the world and I was glad and happy to ride on it for the first time ever a week ago. I just wish was on a longer flight cause I can ride on a 77L for hours!
It's great you managed to catch up with Dennis and Dr Paul Stewart. English Paul had a really sub-par flight with United in America, so Delta looks from all your reviews to be the best of the big three US airlines.

A great review.. I tend to stick to One World and definitely love Americans International Business Class especially the mini cabin on the 777-300ER to the extent I’ve not got any more compelling reason to try an alternative carrier but it’s great to see what’s around.

I noticed you were on row 5 with a aisle access window with row 6 having the seat right against the window. Was that the same of the opposite side of the plane?
Too put it another way, are the odd numbered rows aisle access seats and even window seats?

Brilliant review Jeb....and loved the interaction with Dennis!! Delta are a very good airline judging from your review and I am planning a trip to the US next year and have had my travel agent (one of the best in the game) doing some fare research for me in Business Class from either Melbourne or Sydney and Delta from Sydney are the most expensive. I know its a busy route with UA, QF VA, Air New Zealand and American carrying passengers across the Pacific from the East Coast of Australia but their fares are among the MOST expensive. I also have to comment on your storage issues...most of us don't take that much stuff on board and expect to store it...I understand you have cameras and leads etc but for me its charging my IPad and maybe my phone for arrival but I don't need a lot of space to do that...........great stuff again mate and I await your next flight in which you should the voice in Australian !!!!!!
