That was fast for the tear down. Good thing your people came to Australia to get the iPhone 6 Plus. All the pictures look well photograph of the mobile phone. I wanted to get the IPhone 6 Plus but I have to wait next month just like everybody else.
You should compare the new version of a product and it's repairability score with the previous generation, I know I can find the previous iFixit video myself but it would be nice to see it in the video. Thanks, great video!
To be honest I love my iPhone 5s, I want a phone not a tablet. phones are getting too big I'm gonna hang on to my iPhone 5s until it won't work anymore and it still works Flawless
I switched from an iPhone 4S to an HTC One M7, and while it felt big and unwieldy at first, I have to say I was used to it after just a week or so. Also, big screens are excellent! Although I do believe that any device with a display over 5 inches is simply too big. 4.5 to 5 is the sweet spot.
I also have the 5s but under contract so will not be getting the new iPhone, I may get the 6s next year. I agree the 5.5 is nice but in the real world could be annoying to carry around, I'll probably go for the 4.7 which is not much bigger than the 5s and will be a nice upgrade from the 4" screen on the 5s.
The 6 has a nice size and feel, I would probably have one if it had 1. a flush camera with the body, 2. less ugly antenna lines, and 3. a 1080p screen. there is no reason why the 6 doesn't have a 1080p screen. I feel like the 6s will solve those issues. I'm getting the Sony Xperia Z3 in the meantime, definitely looking forward to that, it's a powerhouse and a beauty! (And freaking waterproof!)
Now I see why the 6+ would easily get bent. It has no reinforcements. Unlike most other phones which have a slab of metal (magnesium alloy?) inside onto which the components are laid out, the 6+ has no reinforcing frame, whatsoever, apart from the case itself. The components are simply put together inside the flimsy aluminum chassis.
Wow, you are one peppy eloquent upbeated good looking host/anchor....coming to the phone, i couldn't help but notice the machining marks and the color of the metal clad after the main board was removed.....it looked like a brass item...meaning looked good....and iphones were always tedious to repair..so this one getting a 7/10 makes a very positive reason for iphone 5 and 5S users to upgrade...
Hi, why do you compare battery from iP6+ (2915 mAh) to SGS5 (mAh)? You should compare to Note 4 (just like you have compared dimensions at the beginning of the video), which has 3220 mAh battery. Note 4 is competitor for iP6+. BTW: nice job! :]
Even though i am no fan of apple i don't see pentalope screws as a real issue any more. The screw drivers are widely available. Im just wondering if they fixed the issue with the lcd etc connectors on the mother board. I have had a number of the 5 line 5c 5 and 5s have them fail after a face drop that broke the glass. In one case the connector came completely off the board with the ribbon still attached. As for the fused glass while i would never do it in practice on a iphone screen i have removed the glass from iphones from 4 line to 5 line. With a vacume table hot plate and the wire it is pretty simple and fast to pull the glass. But still should cost a point on the repair-ability. As for the glass mae from sapphire it is still just glass that is a little more scratch resistant. The finger print scanner from what i understand is also suppose to be the sapphire glass and yet it scratches readily on the 5 s Seem like most of the special glass if not all break and scratch just as easy as good old tempered glass and are more marketing gimic than any thing else. I am very happy to see that stupid finger print scanner ribbon is not done like the 5s. That made that phone just stupid dangerous and hard to repair. As always great teardown
Obveously, Mr. Jobs was wrong about big phones, but still, not completely: There are users of the iPhone 5S or prior models, wich will have problems, using the bigger iPhones with one hand, just because they have smaller hands. That said, it would have been smarter, to at least bring some sort of iPhone 6 mini. Still, i'm happy to see, that Apple learned from the repairing issues known from the 5S, although i wouldn't dare to try repairing it myself.
Is that not what the 4.7in iPhone 6 for? Dear God, please do not tell me Apple should have focused on the market looking for smaller than 4.7!??! Not smarter at all.
I have a question and an issue which you may be able to answer for me. I did a disassembly and reassembly for an iPhone 6. Everything works on the phone great however I noticed the Touch ID stopped working. The home button and siri work but no touch ID. Every time I try to set it up, it says "Touch ID Failed". I tried restoring the phone to see if that would fix the issue but it made things worse. Now I am getting ERROR 53 when I restore. Any ideas?
I was going to get the 6 plus but it turns out that powering 2x more pixels comes at a cost. Lower framerates in many games (im addicted to order and chaos) so i decided to go with the iphone 6 and wow. It's big. Im glad i didn't get the plus. But overall i don't care what anyone says about apple. This thing is like the rolex of smartphones. I would rather have this sexy piece of polish than have a more durable chunky plastic phone
I've seen a drop test by android authority, and even though I love android. Apple have done an amazing job at making the devices so strong, it makes me consider buying one. I'd get the 6+ in black
Thats ... unexpected. Screen comes off easy, everything seems big enough to grab easily. I expected far more "you're never removing this" style parts. Glad to see that big ol' wedge of cash went somewhere. That camera though, thats a silly design. Just having it jutting out there. £5 they release a Iphone 6+s with flat camera in a few months.
I really don't think people care all that much that it such a thin phone. I would think they could sacrafice a bit in its depth to make the camera flushedbattery.
Another fantastic teardown review! Well done, G! :)
One of the best video, i have ever seen about iphone 6 plus
Compared to other Apple devices, this looks like an absolute delight to repair. Well done!
Shattered my 6Plus screen yesterday....but about the antennaes and camera, I think they make the phone look better IMO.
This channel is awesome!!!! I'm so glued!
I love the tone of the narrators voice.Keep up the good work
You guys make it look so easy. Please keep doing what you are doing.
Thanks
High density of quality information packaged in immaculate articulation. Superb job, as usual.

What a remarkable feat of engineering. How cool.
Another great tear down review from iFixIt.com bravo!

Wow what a beautiful presentation Gwen.
Lovely. And a great video too. :)
Are pentalobe screws really that big of a deal anymore? I mean if you are going to be doing any electronics work it's kind of needed.
To be honest I love my iPhone 5s, I want a phone not a tablet. phones are getting too big I'm gonna hang on to my iPhone 5s until it won't work anymore and it still works Flawless
why not bear with the "old one", new devices coming in so fast, often too fast.
yo right sir

I'm just glad the display comes off so easy. The display is the most common thing to crack.
Love you all !! Thanks for all you do!!
So haptic engine existed in iPhone 6+? ( innovation of 6s series)
With all those awesome tools y'all make it look too easy!!!
Agree! Her delivery was flawless.
2.2 aperture
Portal 2.2 confirmed
Oh, this wasn't quite what I was looking for, but, it's still worth the watch.
Good video. Although I think the camera bulge is due to the optically stabilised lens rather than sensor thickness.
thanks for the video guys!
Now that was very informative! Thanks!
You didn't point out the force touch sensor. Did you find it? I was guessing it would be a Bosch.
Excellent tear-down,
Has anyone done an Antutu beta benchmark test yet! just wondering how this fairs against the One+ OPO phone
you guys are the best !!!!
Thank you. Very interesting
Wooooo can't wait for my +!! Only one more month to wait. :'(
Love Apple!
Me too!
thanks for the video.
Thanks for the great information :)
your english is perfect, congrats!
Informative and interesting video as usual. I found the background music somewhat annoying though.

As always great teardown
It pleases me to see a disassembled electronic device revealing milling marks on the inside. It's cool that each case is milled.
Just found you guys..subscribed;)
Great vid love I fixit ;-)
Keep up the great work :-)
Thanks Gwen. You're as always beautiful and give us needed information
This video is gonna be one of the most viewed video of this channel.
Nice Job
Great video
Any mention on the amount of RAM? especially for Jailbreaks in case i want to load extra staff on top of IOS? any light shade?
great channel, I am subscribing :)
You should do the note 4 when it comes out.
are you saying the pentalobe screws are different than the other iphones ?
Getting the iPhone 6 in a few days, that is quite a build, in a thin space.
hopfully that processer makes up for the 1gig
Awesome, easy screen replacement

***** That's like an iPod
+Neoand12 you are dam right
Can you tell us what's the construction price?
Nice video
So if apple bought the beats company, does that mean that the iphone 6 plus has a beats processor in the speaker?
That battery looks huge!
You have an awesome voice.
that`s amazing phone...
Show....7 em reparabilidade!! Parabéns Apple..
How many RAM do we get from iphone 6 and 6 plus?
For me it's still one of the easiest phone to repair. Regardless of the proprietary screws.
Are the screws the same on iPhone 6 and iPhone 5/5s? *****
Awesome!
Is it possible to take the iPhone 6+ camera and swap it with the iPhone 6 camera?
I'm also thinking battery too?
Great video!
Now gimme the phone since its not on sale here in Malaysia, and im too poor to buy one :D
iFixit Best! Fast work! Love it.)
make the phone thicker so that the camera fits flush and fill empty space with battery?

What is that cable attached to Apple logo ?
Teardown the note four please I want to see the inside of it
You guys are geniuses!! I spelled that wrong :p
was really upset to hear it still has 1gb of ram. i mean it comes with such bigger software update, but no ram to back it up.
I was going to get the 6 plus but it turns out that powering 2x more pixels comes at a cost. Lower framerates in many games (im addicted to order and chaos) so i decided to go with the iphone 6 and wow. It's big. Im glad i didn't get the plus.

Buy a hudl 2 from tesco. Will play order and chaos like a dream for a fraction of the cost.
Apple is more about usability and functionality. Apple doesn't care much about durability and features.
how many ram?
The iPad mini mini!
thank you miss pretty
I've seen a drop test by android authority, and even though I love android. Apple have done an amazing job at making the devices so strong, it makes me consider buying one. I'd get the 6+ in black
That battery looks like a frikin' Nano.
Steve jobs said to Tim cook before his death ''Do not think, what i would do.''
Thats ... unexpected. Screen comes off easy, everything seems big enough to grab easily. I expected far more "you're never removing this" style parts. Glad to see that big ol' wedge of cash went somewhere.

Cool one, gj
her happiness makes me feel uneasy.
She's beautiful, and she's a good speaker, she should be my teacher.
2915mh Battry.. good stuff..
1 gig ram = GAY
Wow. Looks like dismantling an iPhone6 is as simple as playing lego blocks. Again, good job Apple!
Really screws is a minus, I really dont think so.
Im not a big fan of the 6 or the ridicules big 6+, hopefully the 6s will have a smaller phone option.
cool
given the number of devices sold with pentalobe screws, I don't think they should be considered proprietary anymore :P
Blasphemy don't these people know its just magic !
*Retina HD Display*
Do a "Oppo R5 teardown"
2915 mAh. Not bad Apple.
How come you guys don't break anything when you tear the phone down
Should've got an 8, it's even easier than the 5s! Putting that 5s home button back together was annoying
Haha Melbourne ftw :)
I really don't think people care all that much that it such a thin phone. I would think they could sacrafice a bit in its depth to make the camera flushedbattery.
Hi
everything seems too easy to detach. i hope when it gets drop non disconnects
that phone looks fake it's too.. gold
