Using this on a 1.21 paper server. works brilliantly. after extensive testing, consistently getting over 8,500 redstone dust per hour. Yeah, even your title undersells how good it is.

I think you can achieve slightly faster rates using 2No2Name's "Johnny" raid captain vindicator method and have the witches run straight into the portal. Though I'm not sure I would increase much as the witch farm limiting factor tends to be spawning space, not mob cap
Very elegant farm. Thank you. I have been looking for one for my survival world for quite sometime and this one really has a good balance between simplicity and efficiency. Its also very fun to watch in action :D. There looks to me that there is a minor bug in the litematica schema, where the outer rail line of the witch transport to the elevator is missing from the schema.
This concept works really nicely. I updated my which farm to this. The only improvement I made was to turn the piston configuration 90 degrees so the witches don't travel as long in the water. It only saves a few seconds in their travel time. Could add up? I am so glad they are buffing the rates.
Awesome farm design! Put 3 rows of magma blocks in the waterstream below the hut. While the witches flow towards the powered rail, they will take damage which will reset their despawn timer. Source: Stromne/LogicalGeekBoy
Thanks! I might add some magma blocks, I don't think it's necessary. Witches are almost always picked up within 15 seconds of spawning or so, and once they're in the carts they can't despawn anymore.
This is a great change, I like how witch farms are now stronger than the simpler stacking raid farms. I'm unsure if people have adapted raid farms to the various changes yet, since their redstone outputs will also benefit from this change although likely by a significantly lesser amount. Either way it actually makes a worthwhile amount of redstone to build, and it's not like the design can't be optimised because I'm pretty sure I remember seeing some advanced witch farms even before made to try out their potential. Here's praying that Mojang doesn't revert this. Guessing this is the influence of gnembom or kingbdogz that made this change, so W them.
i thought light levels did not effect slime spawning? i know that light level 1 gives the best spawning conditions as it prevents other mobs spawning while allowing slimes to spawn. but i wasnt aware that 8+ prevents slime spawning?
That's true for slime chunks under y=40. But in swamps, slimes will spawn only if the light level is under 7. This is why swamp slime farms often use mushrooms to spawnproof (they give light level 1 and block all mobs except slimes).
I don't think it would work for iron golems. We need the trapdoors to hold the witches in place, and iron golems wouldn't spawn if we have trapdoors there -- although I'm not sure on this, iron golem spawning rules are very different from hostile mobs... But we do have a way to get them out: Use downward acceleration with slime blocks! This works like a charm, check out Emdys WAIFU. (And we could use that for simpler iron farms as well.) ruclips.net/video/UBg8wPtk35U/видео.htmlsi=wjymLKGZKRhmN7bp

Hey, I have experienced an issue where the minecarts and witches have got stuck in the water elevator and started stacking inside of it. The farm was working fine for around an hour beforehand, and then a witch somehow got on the scaffolding and thus blocked other carts from coming up, blocking everything off. Anyone know what could have caused this, or any quick fixes?
I have a question about centering the farm over the witch hut. When im placing the schematic. where should height levels be in relation to the witch hut? if it matters.. like does the top shifting floor go where the roof of the hut would be or below or above?
The shifting floors go where the gold blocks are in this picture: ibb.co/fY24MhP The highest is one block over the roof, the lowest 2 blocks below the floor. The rotation depends on the hut, the structure is extended by one block over the roof on the porch side.
@@FrunoCraft oh hey.. i was just about to go to bed i got everything working on the survival server i play on.. still figuring out how to afk though. i keep breaking the armor stand. i also get some other spawns besides witches. but lots of witches. and the tone blocks for the 2nd and 3rd never indicate they are correct. i wonder if the note is changed somehow or somthing?
@@erikanderson3927 The state of the note blocks doesn't matter, they might be differently tuned. As for the other spawns, maybe the farm is rotated? Witch huts can be north-south or east-west. I'd suggest to use freecam to see where the witches come from. The armor stand should only break if you hit it too fast, which can happen with server lag. Try to hit only once every second or so, this should work on most servers.
@@theotherjoedimaggio You can flip the farm around (mirror it in both x/z axes), all that matters is that the rotation is correct. So you need to rotate the schematic 90 degrees such that the 7x9 spawning platforms coincide with the hitbox of the hut, including the porch, depending on the orientation of the hut.
hey! i just wanted to know how I would make this a double witch farm, do i transport them to nether or something? my huts are 200 blocks apart. thanks!
In singleplayer, portals would be the easiest way. Especially in 1.21 where you can keep the witches in minecarts. Thinking about it, this should make this method also feasible for multiplayer because witches can't despawn if in minecarts... But you can also use 2 elevators, move the witches to an afk spot in the middle, and have minecarts in 2 lines unloading to the same block. This is easily possible for up to 4 minecart lines, check Stromnes kill chamber in his WiskeTrain: ruclips.net/video/w4n2me3HYZY/видео.htmlsi=jgmw4XBj4OlGsT8v 200 blocks apart, that means you'll have to light up a lot of caves though, or make a perimeter. Because the AFK spot will have to be low, probably around y=110ish?
I designed a farm similar to this. The trapdoors are at the witches eye level just like this farm. I am now getting a problem where cats are spawning inside the farm and not being able to shift down because they are below the trapdoor. Do you have this problem aswell? im in java 1.19.3 (planning to upgrade to 1.21)
Cats are spawning in the farm? This really shouldn't happen. According to the wiki, cats can spawn only on grass blocks. Maybe you have some grass blocks in there or nearby? BTW you can just move the trapdoors down, but again cats shouldn't spawn in the first place.
I welcome this change. I'm glad Witch farms are back. Gnembon on the team has made a huge difference. Just curious are triple and even quad witch huts still possible? I heard Mojang removed them or at least made them less common. I found a double in my world, I'm using a piston mob conveyor to transport them to one spot, so I should get a nice boost to that.
