    I think this is how jazz music should be presented and how it should be appreciated. Up close and personal and full of interaction between musicians and audiences. So fun. I wish I could be there.

  • @beeshor1

    It's a shame that there are so many Wynton haters when all he wants to do is give us music like this and hope that we appreciate it. I would rather listen to Wynton and his many jazz configurations than just about anyone else playing today. There are some cats who I would equally yearn to hear but no one surpasses Marsalis.

    • @Blueaspen391
      @Blueaspen391 3 года назад +1

      are there many Wynton haters? I didn't know. But there's certainly one sure thing I won't do: talk about them. Next time anybody asks me "what is jazz" I'll give them the link to this video.

    • @beeshor1
      @beeshor1 3 года назад

      @@Blueaspen391 Yeah, there was a whole school of Wynton haters because of his stance on fusion and the avant-garde. Then, of course, there was his relationship with Miles Davis that had a bunch of people uptight. But Wynton has always been a champion of straight-ahead jazz and for that he deserves admiration, in my humble opinion. When I typed that comment it was a bit more on front street than it is now. But I'm sure there are still a few anti-traditional advocates running around. And those folks tend to hate on Wynton.

    So much heat! Pianist hitting so furiously at the end he’s practically offending Wynton. Here’s my transcription of their their facial expressions.
    **insane piano runs**
    Wynton: “--the hell just happened? …what have i gotten myself into” (53:39 - :45)
    Eric: “that’s right b” (53:41)
    W: “aw man what’s he doing now” (55:07)
    E: “take that!” (55:19)
    **Eric’s bars at **55:25**, omg that timing. feeling it 100%, outside the realm of what is calculable.**
    E: “hey alright, i did that” (55:36)
    W: “Ok this guy’s alright” (55:39)
