- Its time to take a look back at probably the most infamous WWE game of all time. Sure we had bad WWE games before this, but this reached new levels. This was record breaking. A game so bad that FixWWE2K20 got trending on Twitter. A game so bad that they had to cancel WWE 2K21 and WWE 2K22. It is finally time. After looking back at all the legendary games, the average ones, and the bad ones. Now we look back at the worst one.

The number of wrestling games coming out has grown, from The Wrestling Code, to AEW.
If 2K & Visual Concepts can get things on the right path with 2K22, then we’ll be looking good.
I feel for the VC developers, as WWE has reportedly been much more difficult to deal with this time around.

I’ll probably get the PC version despite the release wrestlers. I had a feeling they would still be in the game files. Kinda similar to like how Big Cass was hidden in 2k19.
"Horrible" is the perfect word to describe this. The glitches make my skin crawl, like scratching a chalkboard or rubbing two pieces of styrofoam together. That shit really caught the 2K bug the entire world avoided 20 years ago.

Man I just wish wrestling games weren't yearly sports titles anymore. They could just treat it like fighting games and just dlc us for a year or two while the other game gets to cook, but WWE ain't gonna want that.
Tbh yearly sports titles could do that too but there's too much money to be made from yearly releases
Only played it for a week and went back to 2K16, 2K18, and 2K19. They are a blast to play right now.

Yea, games not as broken now. Most gamebreaking glitches are gone and it's beyond playable. The one big issue with the game now is its really easy and the CPU doesn't put up much of a fight

I'm on Xbox, the game plays well but the crashes are the most annoying thing😩
@@homelessshaggy yea i play on my ps5 it’s a smooth running game it’s only crashed on me 1-3 times this whole year and i play alot tbh. but you’re 100% right, i play on legend difficulty and it’s just to easy. the AI’s lose after one finisher waaaay too much. only time they kick out is if it’s a championship match

The few things I like about this game is the fiend, Keith Lee entrance music(we won't hear it again on raw), Matt riddle, and the return of X-Pac and Chyna.

We all thought "you know, 2k19 was actually pretty good, let's see what they have for us next year" and oh boy we did not expect this piece of elephant fecal matter.
Even after 8 patches this game still have bugs, can't imagine 2K22 state.
I was getting my toes done when the roster reveal came out, & was about to kick the lady in the face from jerking my body up in shock at what I saw. Once they announced Sasha Banks OVR soooo low and Zelina Vega's OVR super high, I knew this game was gonna be a mess.
Do a look back on Day Of Reckoning 2. Very underrated IMO.

@@DannyBoy426 very true and it has good gameplay, unlike WrestleMania 21 for the Xbox which has excellent graphics for a 05 game but horrible gameplay. Plus let’s not forget how on that game a lot of the superstars didn’t even have their accurate move set and how for some odd reason all the women except for Lita had on high heels as opposed to their wrestling boots💀🤦🏾♂️.

So the day 2k came out I went and bought it. I was playing career mode and thought this was ok at BEST. But I was grinding all day to finish it. The next day I woke up at the therapist cause I was screaming at night of how much depression I had from that game. Then I broke the disk and played 2k19 instead.
Honestly I remember wanting to get this because of the Hell in a Cell with weapons and a table in there also how every match had the weapon wheel you can customize the weapon wheel with the customization of the weapon was cool I thought that I could have a Chairs match at the TLC Pay-Per-View event or Singapore cane match etc...

Sadly, I can see 2K22 being an even worse game than 2K20. I can't imagine that 2K or Visual Concepts are even trying to make a good game. At the most, they're just trying to get the game done and out of the way, which means quality is gonna suffer.
It's not gonna get any better with 2K22 and it's gonna be another unmitigated disaster
If they wanted to get 2k22 done and out of they way, they would've kept the release date the same for October or even rushed it and release it this month.

I'm probably going to be the most hated person on planet earth but since the moment it released I never experienced so many bugs and crashes I got like in total 5 from both idk if my PlayStation is especial and finally I actually like this game very much :)

I only complain about the community creations which I can't download some arenas and superstars without being glitched besides that the game works pretty fine for me

I paid 60$ for this game and there’s not a single time where I’ve played it and had fun. It’s so bland and slow. I personally haven’t ran into any glitches when playing either but maybe I’m just lucky. Thing is, it’s out dated af, we don’t even have the smack down universal championship, no players gets updated at all the game modes will always be awful, and I just can’t stand simulation the way 2K does it. Hell they can’t even provide anything good for there NBA games so why would it be different for a game they really don’t care about? I don’t have my hopes up for 2K22 either despite how much time they’re putting into it. Idc about the graphics just give a good gameplay style and modes again and that’s it.
Crazy thing is I actually had fun with this game, a lot of people tend to copy what others say and call it "awful" when they didnt have the same experiences when it first launched. When i played, it was already patched. Story mode did suck though lol
I miss THQ. If THQ didnt get bankrupt in 2013, they would've still made more better wrestling games, like when WWE 2k14 came out, Cory Ledesma, who was game director, game tester, senior tester, producer etc. He left 2K on their own! That could be the reason why 2K were running out of ideas! If he never left 2k, he would've made better games, he betrayed his wrestling games fans. I wish THQ didnt get bankrupt. They give the wrestling community and us a special place in our hearts and nostalgic childhoods that live on forever, until the day we all die together as a community.
I actually met the voice actress for Red on Clubhouse. She was cool but didn’t watch wrestling and knows everyone hates this game.

Props for mentioning that Yukes were the ones making the 2K WWE titles up to 2K19. These people that shit on the 2K games(before 2K20), blame 2K & VC, even though Yukes were still around due to whatever previous deal they had with THQ.
Yukes are working on the AEW game & they got *alot* to redeem themselves for. The game better basically be a HCTP remake, in order to prove that the laziness in WWE games since WWE12, certain features being removed & brought back later, the hackers, the reversal system being trash, etc.(and the free roam not being in *any* of the 7th Gen & 8th Gen WWE games) was all WWE/THQ/2K's fault.
@CatWithAMohawk It certainly isnt. First & foremost, the WWE games' arcade nature was abandoned after SvR11 & WWE AllStars(until Battlegrounds, which was just All Stars 2). WWE 12 & onwards were sports simulators. I always hated that, pro wrestling has alot going for it, but its not a completely serious sport. Leave the sports simulators to NBA, NFL, UFC, etc.
The reversal system sucked since WWE 12. It never worked most of the time unless the AI is doing the reversing, and if you play Online, the timing is more acrewed up due to input lag(2K20 get props for *one* thing, a simple reverse system, just one face button like in the SmackDown games). Then there's all the broken grapple moves that were spammed to death because they couldnt be reversed, such as one Flapjack version, and tons of certain running grapples. Oh, and I think it was since WWE 12 that the AI kept kicking out of pins the first time despite getting the absolute shit beat out of them.
The mode about playing the different WWE eras, oh man that was done to death at that point. Yukes kept reusing that mode since Legends Of WrestleMania. I can see that being WWE's fault.
The custom titantrons from WWE 13 were removed in 2K14.
The one thing about CaW that sucked was that point limit. Seriously, why was that always there? Cant be creative when the feature limits you.
And I didnt even say 2K15 sucked. That was fine, it came out in between console gen transitions just like SvR07 did.
@CatWithAMohawk You clearly didn't grow up during the days when Yukes' games kicked ass. HTCP felt exactly like old TV-14 WWE.
While the games since WWE 12 were "sports entertainment" shit & Yukes left because they had enough of that.
@CatWithAMohawk SvR07 up to SvR11 had that arcade style too. And even then, they were all half-assed versions of HTCP, considering the features there that never came back in 7th & 8th Gen, despite the hardware getting more powerful.
And a screw up to HCTP's engine was the best screw up that ever happened in video game history.

If I wanted to play a sports simulator, I'd play an actual sports game.

this game wasn’t that bad for me.. the only truly glitch i encountered was black titles and white out arenas when you tried to use customs in Universe Mode

I have played this game the first the last few months, I went through career mode and then into universe, I don’t remember coming across a single glitch. It’s a really fun game, the mistake they made was releasing it in that awful state, if they had released it and it was actually playable then I don’t think people would hate this at all. It’s not the best game ever and it doesn’t do anything special but it’s a decent wrestling game that can keep you entertained for tons of hours.

The only memory I had of WWE 2K20, Pav, was that it was the only game of the entire Yuke's Smackdown series (from Smackdown on the PS1 to WWE 2K on the PS4) that I never own or played.
This game is a stain that needs be wiped from wrestling game history but my hopes for 2K22 ain't any higher im more hyped for Wrestling Code and AEW x Yuke game than that

Memories...hmm...I remember breaking throwing and breaking my controller after I spent 3 hours customizing my show on universe mode and when I was saving everything, the game crashed. That's when I started playing 2k19 again, and I have never looked back.

It feels like when 2k was making the my career story, they came up with a story and then tried to figure out how to add wrestling to it. The wrestling aspect came last.
I really don’t mind the game for what is and what it offers, stacked roster , long story mode, improved GM mode, and long 2k showcase but technical standpoint the glitching , the errors and the original lagging loading. If it wasn’t for the glitches I wouldn’t think it wouldn’t so hated on.
