As a business owner myself (not sports cards) who has been selling on eBay and Amazon full time since 2015….the biggest hurdle in the beginning is getting enough inventory and getting it listed. You’re just not going to sell a whole lot of anything until you’ve got tons of stuff available for people to buy. I’ve been looking into getting into sports cards selling lately and what I’m seeing is that most sellers doing really well (30-50 sales per day or more) have well over 50,000 listings.
Very good overview. For me, I think another good piece of advice for someone starting out is to be very focused. Don't try to buy all sports - because you'll make mistakes. Like for myself, I only do baseball so I'm familiar with who is hot and what I can sell things for. I dabbled in NFL a bit and lost money because I wasn't as familiar with it.
Very true! This can even be applied to sets, years or players. I've always done better when I've stuck to what I know
Thanks for the advice @Michaellp. Makes sense
What if you know more than 1? I’m sure it’d be ok right?

THIS
Bin shop and always get 10 or more. Leaves you room to negotiate and do it honestly. Bought 10, had 35 of value, asked for 30 and they said yes. 5 bucks is big when margins are thin. That's 14 percent.
The world needs more people like you… the beginning disclaimer make you wanna actually listen and learn.
Finding the image of a card for a graphic that matches the broll you have is next level editing. Subscribed.
Good, practical advice. It's always best, to start micro, and then build up later on a more macro level whenever you feel comfortable, and have more of a safe and secure blanket to spend on mid level and/or higher end cards.
Thanks for the update. I watched the last one you did that was mentioned early in the video. It helped a lot. Keep it coming!
Awesome! Glad I could help
This was very good bro! I bought a 1000 cards from an auction like 2 years ago threw them into my garage and forgot about them. I ran into one of your videos and whipped them out! Most of them are foreign to me as I don’t watch sports but the few I was able to recognize are 2 Jeter rookies and a ton of holo and cards from 94. I love arbitrage of other items and this has sparked a light in me to scavenge! Lol incase anyone wonders I paid $70 as the winning bidder.
Thank you for the info my dude, my type of people the ones that share info and aren’t selfish. I’ll Be supporting your content for as long as you make it brother.
A thorough and well explained 10 minutes. I appreciate your insights. Thanks for making this!
I love that video when u visited ALT. They had like 30 mill pricetags on those 6 cards. Hilarious stuff
Very helpful and good advice. Been out of the game for a while and getting back in. Most my cards are from the 90s
Your videos are great! I'm watching them over and over again, because I want to get started on ebay with a small card shop, so really appreciate the advice! Keep rockin'!
❤
N ice video. Thanks for telling people exactly how it is. I collected for years in the early 2000's and I learned all this by example. It didn't take me long before I became a good trader. Online trading clubs was also a good way to find good deals as well as meat good people that would ll help you find cards you collect or want to invest in. 🎉
I am in China. My english is not good.I watch your video by translator.I learn a lot.I have been buying and selling cards from China to Japan for about 7 months now.I made some money before, but now I make less and less. It is becoming increasingly difficult to choose cards, and many cards cannot be sold at high prices. Now that I have learned a lot from your videos, I decided to give your ideas a try. Thank you for sharing.
Cardhobby better than other sites to sell cards
Great video! Buying boxes is brutal anymore. $250 for Bowman 2023 Hobby Box to get a few numbered no names and a no name auto.
I like opening boxes I once bought a 10$ box and pulled a 70$ card so I still open boxes sometimes
Thank you for this very informative video. I was wondering when you first started out. Did you have a set amount of cards you would list a day?
This is probably the best video on the tube on how to get into sports card trading. Great video
so im not really looking for investment. but i do have cards from 1930s. they have been in my book for years. im looking into where do i need to go to look at price. just a randoms search or specific sights
Thanks bro that help for people who have rarest cards 👍
It’s such a process when checking prices and then grading isn’t quick either unless you’re paying premium prices. Then on top of it all selling on EBay has a selling limit until you start to generate positive feedback.
Really enjoyed the video! Thanks for keeping it real and sharing valuable insights.
Thanks so much, this really helped.
Im trying to start selling some old baseball cards i found and was wondering how you determine how much you want to sell them for. I dont have the money to send them on for grading so im not sure how to figure that out.
I used to collect trading cards 30 years ago, just got back into it. I bought a pack of WWE Chronicles for $24 and sold ungraded on eBay for $65. I bought a couple Panini prisms as well and the return on those is probably 10 to 20% like you said.I heard soccer has pretty high return as well, but Basketball seems to be all about Victor Wembanyama and no one else lol
Totally agree with not buying boxes or packs to be profitable but 10% return sounds low. I've been selectively buying packs and boxes of sets that are in high demand and I've already made back almost 20% of my money back with about 10k cards left to try and sell. I've built sets as well from opening packs which will put in a nice chunk of return. Fyi this is just fun for me not taking it seriously..
Shhhhhhh,,,,,,someone has to open the boxes ❤
What site are you using at the 1:20 mark to research card prices?
Thank the video helped alot as I am from nz and the only card show near me this year is next Sunday but as I am from nz the dollar boxes probably aren't such a good thing as people probably won't want to buy a card for 5 dollars say and pay like 15 shipping
True, might be a little tougher outside the US but I've seen a lot of times stuff will resell higher in your own country
I've decided to sell my sports cards locked away in a storage unit. I don't even know how to display, what I would need or where I would start. I just plan on selling at one sports show, maybe two or three. I'm not a hobbyist, I just want to make a little to get me thru the year. I sort of have ideas but would appreciate advice from an expert. Bro, this beginner just popped out of the womb! Thanks.
Great video man!
I have tool boxes full of vintage cards. What do I need to do. I bought out a building and it was packed with old cards.
Just got a box of like 1000 of 90’s and early 2000’s baseball cards from one of my older coworkers… I’m hoping there’s some gems in there
I’ve been buying cards since the 80’s and now I want to start selling them different sports and tcg
Awesome vid, what app did you use to look up the lebron card?
I really appreciate him not saying that we can get rich that's a big deal for me good man
Where do I find the linc to the part where he is goin to explain how to sell on eBay?
I have a bunch of older cards that I got when I was I was younger (I’m 17 now) how would I be able to find the value for the cards I have since there not being sold by anyone anymore?
Thank you a lot for this video. This is very interesting and informative. Keep posting like those amazing videos, this is awesome.
Your a real friend in this ! Thank you
Good info thanks
Do you have a video on PSA grader groups people who will send in the cards for other people?
What do you think about older cards like 1980 or so?
Great tips for a starting card collector👍
Thank you!
What brand pack should I buy
I’m just trying to sell my cards I collect through the 80’s. I have a donruss ken Griffey Jr rookie card and an upper deck Sammy Sosa rookie card. I have a ton of cards and I thought I could sell them if possible but have no idea how to go about that. Is there any way you could tell me where I should start first?
Great vid Troy…very informative. What site do you use to find info about card shows?
Appreciate that! theshowlocator on instagram usually has a good sheet with the info
Awesome video for beginners like myself
Great info. Thank you.
Great video, thanks. Just wondering if you could advise what cards to go for? I'm seeing prizm, panini and tops which I heard of a lot growing up. Not really sure where to start? Thanks
I need help figuring out the ebay side of selling cheaper cards.
Awesome video ❤
I have 4 shoeboxes full of sports cards, and have no idea how to figure out which are valuable. Can anyone point me towards a recourse that could make the job easier? I don't want to just hand these off at a trading store, because why would they tell me if I had a card that was worth thousands?
From collector to collector , how does one come up with the value of their card in oder to make a fair deal? Is it based on the last sale of a comp or do you simply make an average of the last 5 sales of comps?
I usually go off the max sale and lowest sale then make the value of the median. Like if a cards max sale was $200 and the lowest was $100 I would say the proper value is $150.
Figure what you’d like and expect lower in my honest opinion. I started selling collecting playing and trading Pokémon and magic but have recently started collecting sports for personal collections. But damn those collections get expensive. I just pulled a davante Adams downtown and I’m under 30 packs ripped. I looked at eBay. Every auction is finishing at 100-150. Buy it now’s at 175 crossed out for best offer sales. Threw mine up at 175 with offers of 135 or higher. Within an hour someone bought it for 175. I like to throw extras in so I asked the guy if he was a raiders fan. He said he just likes downtowns. Now I’m not a pro but if a cards hype starts at 175 and that sounds nice but a month later they’re going between 100-150 throw your 175. Hope for the best expect the worst and prepare to meet in the middle. Once again. Not a pro and don’t deal with a lot of high end stuff just unloading what I don’t need in my collection but sometimes there is just somebody out there at the right time willing to buy your stuff for what you want out of it
Im really new at this...Are the cards at Card Shows PSA Graded?
Would you consider or maybe you already have... making a video about how to tell if a card is good for grading and how to prep it????
Definitely thinking of doing a grading video
Hey where’s the video on how to do the eBay store?
I was wondering why there are ‘rare’ cards on Amazon and other places for nearly $1, but some people sell them for thousands.
I've had an ebay account since 2011 but have never sold anything so I have 0 feedback. Do you think I will have any issues getting hits on my cards?
This guy is dead on good video right to the point the only thing is everyone is doing it now which sucks a lot of competition
Great starter video for someone
Thank you!
Great video bro
What website did you use to find the stock prices for the cards charted out like the stock market? I can't find that on veriswap anywhere.
Card Ladder, it's a paid service though
app.cardladder.com/signup?via=troy
I recently came into a huge collection of vintage sports cards. I scanned everything into and app and it’s sitting at 7k. Should I just post everything to eBay or would it be wiser to see it at a lot and let someone else grade it and part it out
What app did you use?
I live in portugal and i dont have an local card shop
do you promote your cards on ebay?
How does one come up with a price when its a population 1 with a PSA grade of 10? Im talking about a top prospect in baseball that people are obviously paying attention to? Ill throw out some names for instance Cristhian Vaquero, Coby Mayo, PCA and so on.
Good vid bud
Appreciate it!
Hi, I'm a Japanese national who lives in Tokyo. Are non-US citizen like us allowed to sell sports trading cards in the US? I mean is it legal? Please let me know, if you know anything about it, thank you very much🙏
GREAT video! How long did it take you to transition from $1 cards to $10 to $100 cards etc.?
Thank you! I'd say it took about 6 months before I felt comfortable buying more expensive cards
Great video
Your goated 🐐
Is Joe burrow a good investment
Raw dog some vintage cards and send them to sgc sort of tricky with condition being a big factor but there’s good opportunities there. Also a great long term hold
I love your inserts of Tai Lopez and those two breaker jerks!
What would people be paying for a ERLING HAALAND, 2020 Topps Now UEFA Champions League #050, PSA 10 I am watching one on a local website and it is at 27 nzd I do belvie it will increase as it has 4 hours but what do you think a good price is

An awesome topic.. this is informative.. -Dan
Thank you!
@@TRIKE415SportsCards I hope there will be more videos like that. BTW, have you read my emails? Thank you - Danz
OKI found a giant fat box. Sports cards a lot of them 2020 some of them a little older, but like brand new At the goodwill for $40. And I went through and checked at eBay cause eBay is the best source for pric and colors. And some of most of my 99 cents up Some of them came back up to $50. I've only checked about 5% so far. It is so excruciating and hard to go through them and research each one. But that's the question I'm getting at. Should I list each one of these cards individually on a eBay? Ninety nine cent n

Saya sangat banyak kartu basketball premium di indonesia
be aware he said he lost 10k on a deal

I lost Almont 90k in the sports card industry.
Being Scammed. Bad Deals. Etc.
People not sending cards etc.

The only way to make money in the hobby is to create a youtube channel and strictly make negative videos about the hobby. Make sure to have very depressing titles and tag lines on your videos like 'scammers' 'shilling' 'loaded cases' 'prices are tanking' etc. That way you make money from google because everybody is watching your videos, which gives you more money to buy more cards. Not only that but because you are contributing to the negative narrative in the hobby, you are helping more people leave the hobby, which means cards get cheaper for you.
Bro can we get a bit more in depth on the next version? I think we all know how to go to sold on ebay by now. No hate just wondering
