    I have the same '07 9-3 2.0t 6sp convertible, black on gray. Never loved a car as much. I've been lucky. 160K now, bought it with 90K and it has been very reliable with proper maintenance. I have another 4WD vehicle for utility which saves wear & tear on the Saab. EVERY time the sun shines I fall in love again. Thanks for being so generous with your Saab knowledge. I think there is a bit of a Saab rescuer in every person who owns one or more of these. I had an '83 900 Turbo back in the mid-80's in the mountains of Colorado. It was more of a "Saab story," but still now wish I had kept it. Thanks again. 😊🙏

      That’s awesome! Getting up there in miles too. I just clocked over 173,000! I don’t ever plan on selling. The 900 turbo is one of my dream cars. I really appreciate the comment, I enjoy sharing this video because I love the Saab so much. Thank you, from one Saab guy to another.

    I'm 65 have had a lot of cars in my life, but my 03 93 linear is the only car I have ever owned that I can say I fall in love with it every time I drive it. And yes is a stick, gotta be a stick......

    Ive currently got 5 SAABS 3 9-5's a ng900 and a 07 9-3 Aero 6mt. Love all my cars and the tuning on them! My wagon 9-5 is fbo with a 19t #6 on e85 and is such a sleeper and i love it! My 9-3 is getting custom tubular manifolds and a gtx3576r t4 turbo. Its gonna be so much fun when that car is back on the road and beating people left and right

      beyond cool. I'm hoping to tune mine at some point, it's just a little daunting considering everything I've had to fix up until now. I'll make sure to subscribe to your channel! so your 9-3 aero is the v6? I've always wanted to drive one!

      @@ddubsgarage8285 yeah the tuning is pretty difficult to learn what changes what in the ecu. I havent ever posted a video on here though. My 9-3 has a do88 intercooler and intake, full catless 3" exhaust, upgraded wheels in the turbo and tuned and it was an absolute blast to drive. Ive raced many cara with her and surprised many different cars. I was playing cat and mouse with a gtr with 2 friends in my car and was keeping up with him! 🤣 i miss driving it but its getting tubular manifolds and a gtx3576 so it will be very quick

      I'm thinking one day if I buy another car or truck (for when I hopefully buy and sell motorcycles on the side) Then I'll start going a little more insane with the 9-3. I could definitely get behind making a little more power. I love that saabs will just always be sleepers no matter what, I'm sure keeping up with that gtr was a ton of fun. Guess I know who to talk to when the day comes to start tuning. I appreciate the comments man, awesome stuff!

    Between my father and I, we've owned 5 Saabs over the year's. Definitely my favorite car maker. Wish they were still in business (with a little less GM). Currently own a 03 9-3 Areo. My favorite so far was the 86 9000 Turbo we had some year's ago which topped 300k miles and was still running like a top when we let it go

    • @ddubsgarage8285
      @ddubsgarage8285  Год назад +2

      3000k on the 9000? That’s incredible! I’ve always wanted to drive an aero model with the 2.8 v6. One day, right? 😂 one day I’d like to own a 900 spg, and see what Saab was like without any GM influence.

    • @dzznuts7580

    In the UK and Europe there's more of a scene with Diesels over here. My daily is 9-3 TTID de-catted and straight through exhaust remapped to 240bhp and 500nm at the crank, some Bilstein B6's and Eibach springs with a strut brace it handles like a dream and can embarrass some cars 4 times the price . There's still nice turbo noises on the diesels but as for Saab's in general they're bullet proof for the most part and here in Europe the parts are plentiful. I love the personality's of the cars in general and I cant see myself driving anything else in the future, working on them is always a good time as well if its you and buddy just working away but I think you hit the nail on the head though with your points, night panel is so nice and the sleek handbrake too. But if your keen to work on the car yourself and have the Tech2 and a KESS unit you should be good to go

    • @ddubsgarage8285
      @ddubsgarage8285  Год назад

      So cool! I had heard of the diesels but really never seen any videos on them. I bet that thing makes some awesome noises when you get on it with no cat and a straight pipe. I'm the same way, I don't ever want to get rid of my Saab. One day I'll bite the bullet and just get a tech 2 scanner. Thanks for the comment!

    Hey thats a great car you got there and thanks for the links to the parts. That plastic splitter to the turbo sure is a disaster waiting to happen. It happened to me too. I was getting oil changed and they took the plastic off to remove oil filter. I was standing next to the car and just touched that damn thing and it cracked. The guy standing below had no idea where the coolant was coming from. Best of luck. Stay safe.

    • @ddubsgarage8285
      @ddubsgarage8285  Год назад

      Of course! Yeah mine exploded after a long trip and dumped coolant absolutely everywhere. I thought I had catastrophically destroyed something until I found that the plastic coupler had exploded. Thank goodness it was an easy fix. Nice to know there are other saab fans out there!

    Nice work! I have a rare 2006 2.8 L Aero convertible. After 7 years ownership, it's still going 💪. There are a few Saab auto shops in San Diego, CA, and i do some of the work myself. Love this little car ❤. Let us know if you encounter any challenges and your experience with maintenance! Btw, I would totally buy another one. So let me know if anyone has my model.

      @ddubsgarage8285  9 месяцев назад +1

      @andrewd.6072 9 месяцев назад

      @@ddubsgarage8285 fortunatly I never had any problems with the CIM with my saab, I think is pretty rare as an issue but non the less one of the worst one.
      One of the best things a saab owner / future owner can do is getting a tech 2, that’s just a life saver with these cars.
      I’m planning on getting a Turbo X in the future and with that even the Tech 2 so I’ll be able to work more freerly on my cars, maybe I’ll even consider buying the tech 2 before it ‘cause it might help with my current saab that I’ll convert into a restoration project

    Enjoy your videos! Quick question if I might. I have a 2007 9-3 Vert like yours except with the Auto Trans. The radio display is basically invisible during the day, even at the brightest setting, and more so with the top down. The dash display is fine. Just wondering if you have the same issue with your radio, and whether you might know of a fix, other than buying an after market radio. Thanks!

    • @ddubsgarage8285
      @ddubsgarage8285  Год назад

      Yo! Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. I bet that convertible is awesome. I have not noticed that issue on mine. I’m pretty sure the radio display brightens with the display brightness switch but I could be wrong. I’m hoping to actually replace my radio with an Apple CarPlay one some day. Sorry I’m not too much help on this one 😬
