I'm really enjoying these shows on things we may not have known about Halloween. Taking shape (1,2) are must have for Halloween fans.

I will always have a special place in my heart for Halloween 6. I really like the theatrical version, despite its many flaws.
This is the Halloween movie that looks most like Fall including leaves on the ground, and the common colors that Fall leaves have.
I actually like both cuts. This was the 1st Halloween movie ive seen trailers for in real time. So for Nostalgia reasons this is one of my favorites. I do like the "Thorn" Storyline. I wish somebody would continue the series from H6 on.

Just imagining an extremely slow speed chase with Michael in a space suit walking after two astronauts on the moon.
I like the idea of having the whole film at Smiths Grove & Loomis is staying there after his stroke in Halloween 5, it could of been like Halloween 2 (1981) at the hospital but at Smith's Grove.

Halloween 6 has an unintentional funny scene because Tommy is able to stop Michael Myers from moving forward by putting stones in front of him which never is explained why that is successful.
Its literally explained twice why that worked.

Yeah the "Michael is paralysed by runes" scene sucked. As did him just being the cult's glorified bodyguard.

i love H6 especially the PC because it had the unique idea of...LEAVING IN THE LOOMIS SCENES! hated the ending of the PC though.

Got to admit you gents are very much becoming my go too for all horror movie content. I love Wolfman got nards (who actually put me on to you with your joint video about a month ago) Since then ive literally binged watched all your content and i love the way you both bring a sense of calm to your reviews. I LOVE the halloween franchise its my favourite and i find good things in all the movies but i really enjoy how when you say you dont like something your constructive and give reasons why it didnt fit with you. Most channels just go off on one and be negative with zero reasoning so keep up the great work.
Halloween 6 could of been fantastic for me was just good, both versions are a bit strange in places but Michael was at his brutal best and they did him justice in this, its also the final loomis performance which he went out with a bang with for me.

Great video! I think they should do a table sit down with all the major players except for the Weinstein's obviously and actually discuss WTF went wrong! I heard Daniel Farrands does defend Joe Chappelle but I read Marianne Hagan said Joe Chappelle didn't really care about the film and he just wanted his 3 picture deal and someone else said Joe Chappelle treated Donald Pleasence like crap on set and I believe Daniel Farrands actually blamed Paul Freeman for a lot of issues in the movie so clearly there is a lot of things to be sorted out!

I dont really believe Pleasence was treated like crap. Chappelle spoke kindly about Pleasence during a Fangoria interview done on set. Pleasence would have walked if he was being mistreated and Moustapha Akkad would have had a lot to say to Joe Chappelle about that I believe. What I have heard is that during post production Chappelle made the decision to reduce Pleasence's screen time because he thought his performance was "boring." I dont know if that's actually true or not.
@@SomethingThatSCREAMS Well Pleasence also fought with the director of Halloween 5 so who knows! I did hear Joe Chappelle did reduce Pleasence on screen time because he thought he was boring and if it's true he never should have been directing the movie!

Actually I remember seeing ads for this Halloween it was as titled Halloween 666 the origin of Michael Myers and then it was changed to the curse of Michael Myers
With a title like that you'd think Michael would be revealed as the Antichrist or something.
"Halloween. The Curse of Michael Myers".... if only the "Producer's Cut" was ever released in Europe.... :( So I'm more familiar with the theatrical cut, which I'd rate somewhere in the middle of the franchise... It's silly, incoherent and does a disservice to Pleasence and the character of Jamie LLoyd in the theatrical version. BUT it oozes with atmosphere and some of the kills are simply insane. I'd take it over H20 and- of course- "Resurrection" any day. BTW great channel, alwys a pleasure to listen to you guys. :)

The PC was already released in Europe. It's buyable as Blu Ray and isn't even that expensive, if you don't buy one from the US.
I bought one for 20€ in an online film shop.

Another fantastic episode! There are things I like about both versions but overall I prefer the theatrical cut because it’s more intense, less silly, and makes the nature of Michael’s evil more ambiguous. In the producer’s cut it’s spelled out that the cult turned Michael into a murderer, which really takes away from the feeling of him being the boogeyman. And I don’t like a lot of the cult stuff like Michael impregnating Jamie, the whole climax with the magic rune stones, and the ridiculous ending of the Thorn tattoo appearing on Loomis’s wrist while Michael walks off wearing the Man in Black outfit.
Frank, you mentioned that you’d prefer the movie to start out with the producer’s cut and end with the theatrical cut. I made my own fan edit that’s basically that. The first 3/4 of the movie is mostly the producer’s cut but I edited certain things like removing the shot that shows Michael about to impregnate Jamie and replaced it with a shot of the Man in Black. And the last 1/4 of the movie is mostly the theatrical cut. I spent a long time comparing each version and using the parts I liked best. I’m a video editor and I thought it would be a fun project. I’d be happy to send it to you guys if you’re interested.

12:59 In the original series Michael's parents aren't important so him visiting his mother in 6 would have been stupid.
I met George Wilbur in 2012 and asked him about why he did not reprise the role as the Shape for the reshot ending. It was simply because he wasn't available. Not because his performance was bad. I believe that is corroborated in one of the two Taking Shape books. Keep up the good work.

That is a lie. According to Daniel Farrands he was replaced because the man was chunky so they brought in some one slimmer. This is very clear as Michael was always teased by fans for looking fat in this movie and the scenes with A. Michael Lerner he is much slimmer.
@@serenamcclain9511 All I can do is tell you what the man, himself, told me in Las Vegas back in 2012. If Farrands said that then it's obviously Wilbur's word against his. I even told Wilbur about the various rumours going around on the internet at the time that they wanted a smaller Michael and that apparently he kept stumbling over on set. Wilbur claimed those rumours were false.
@@leedaley3404 Well no one wants to admit that they were too fat to do anything so I bet Wilbur was still in denial. It makes sense because they gotten a slimmer Michael for those reshoots and weren't even consistent with the more chunkier Michael in Wilbur's scenes. If they had more of a budget and time they likely would have eliminated Wilbur entirely.

This entry causes much conflict in me because I struggle to find a preferable version. The producers cut is more written out and gives more story, but the theatrical is more stylish and bathed in neon flashes. I understand where the fan base divides. H6 was a “cool kid” movie where you saw it between 5-16 and this version of Michael was remembered more than that of H20. Adults had moved on from Halloween since those who’d enjoyed 4 and 5 had grown up, and those who enjoyed 1 through 3 as teens were now with families or “grown up”.
If they stuck to Daniel farrands script it would have been better and replacing Danielle Harris was a mistake
Danny screenplay is also very different from the producers cut, I believe a mil was wiped from there budget which caused rewrites due to lack of money for the third act orginal ending. Which had Jamie confronting Michael and both falling to there death of the roof of smith grove. And then 7 would of picked up with Carra n the baby or Danny dying in the bathroom we saw Jamie cleaning her baby In 6 and Tommy being framed for 6 and finding out the town is all in on the curse

I'm a fan of both but the producer cut more so. They both have their issues but i really liked it. Imo it's the last good one. H2O could've been good for me but that fkn mask really is a deal breaker for me

This is a weird fn movie. I love it but it's weird. And for some reason every time I think of the halloween franchise this is the first movie to pop into my head and it's not even my favorite sequel. This one has great atmosphere and some good kills and Michael's mask is cool but... this one is weird lol but love it still

Weinstein’s (fuck they and may they rot in hell) also heavily interfered with SCREAM 3 throwing out Kevin Williamson’s original treatment. And 4 which caused Kevin and Bob Weinstein getting into a shouting match and Kevin walking off the set and leaving the production.
This movie had the potential to be the best sequel following off of the rather underrated Halloween 5, which at least told a coherent story from beginning to end, and yet Dimension ruined it with Joe Chappelle on their side. A similar thing would take place with Helllraiser Bloodline in which they butchered that movie too the same way with Joe also handling that reshoot stuff, shortening it down and removing story material, and some of the budget from this movie went into THAT. Like come on. Also, Wilbur was replaced because of his weight, not his performance. But how dumb to do that because you are still leaving in a significant amount of his footage so now you have moments were Michael is chunky and then moments where he is thin. Now that is very disjointed as well as that third act which the cultists are now scientists and that was inspired by The X Files show at the time.

Jamie is probably the only character in Halloween I ever felt bad for. Her entire short life from start to finish was such a shit show. She was born into it with no choice in the matter.....Always felt she was the cursed one instead.

I would rather watch Halloween 6 than H20 and Resurrection yes I said it. I prefer the theatrical cut because more action and gore. Producers cut gives more context but its stupid Michael Myers gets defeated and stopped by a pile of stones it's Ridiculous 😒
The movie never explains why the stones stop Michael Myers from moving forward which is terrible writing.

Great vid., as usual!! "Curse" is to me only so-so. It's better than 5, but that ain't saying much...A Port-O-Potty cleaning movie would be better than 5!! I like different things about both the theatrical and producer's cut...If I had to pick one...I'd have to pick The Producer's cut!! A better opening monologue by Loomis, Jamie not being thrown onto the thresher, all the Thorn symbols on and around the farm, and more of Loomis are reasons why I pick the producer's cut.
With all the infighting and behind the scenes bickering and bullshit going on it surely shows in the final product,and it's many flaws. For me, at best this flick is a 5 out of 10, and I'm being generous. All these greedy A-Holes,and so called experts in the film world couldn't make a good Halloween if their lives depended on it. Just get some of us lifer Horror fans together and we could make a movie 100 times better,because we truly care about Halloween and have a deep love and respect for Horror!!

Love this series you guys are doing but 6 for me is not one I go to for my Halloween fix. For me Paul Rudd was just beyond strange and Jamie's death scene was like W-T-W. I can almost take Tina's singing over Paul's strangeness🤣🤣, 6 just doesnt do it for me. 🔪🙂🙃
As hacked to bits the theatrical cut of this movie is, I still prefer it over the producer's cut. The movie was broken beyond repair, but I'm grateful for the repair job that was done.
This one is a bit more unbearable compared to part 5. It does have some great fall atmosphere that makes it feel like an authentic Halloween season. And the mask is a step up from 5, but overall this is one rarely makes my rewatch list. It just feels forced for the money.

The movie in both versions fails to explain how Michael Myers moved a dead character on a tree which is unbelievable because the tree is in a public area.
Didn't care much for this one. I think mostly cause it's the last of Loomis plus they cut all his stuff out
Halloween 6 is the awful sequel that gives an explanation for why Michael Myers is evil which is a flaw because Michael Myers isn’t mysterious when you know why he is evil including the reason why he is murdering characters.
I loved part 6 when I was young, as a young kid, looking for something to entertain me but now I see how terrible they are.
The producers cut as Dave Mccrae said, provides more context to things, but that's not saying much. Looking forward to H20 episode.
Only thing to know is this is a shitty movie. Between this resurrection and part 5, I can’t choose which one is shittiest

I’ll be honest, I don’t think Danielle Harris regrets anything. In her words, she was offered the role as long as she became emancipated from her parents (so she hired a lawyer, went to court, and spent around $4,000 to make this happen). After all of that, the producers offered her $1,000 for one week of work, so she rightfully turned them down.
