Congratulations to the entire dev team for achieving the impossible! Even more impressive is the fact that falcon BMS is FREE.
Free as a mod for a paid game? Or free as standalone game?
@@paristo you can get the base game for i think 3 bucks on steam, so its pretty inexpensive
@@enricopucci6570 And that doesn't matter how much it costs. BMS itself is a mod, to paid game that offers it greatest feature, a dynamic campaign. BMS itself is a free mod. But still owning a license is required to get BMS working.
And it is better get just the GOG version, and you anyways just need the executable as it is being checked in BMS installation that it is existing in computer, everything else is from BMS. So only the license is required to have that exe.

Why the impossible? Is not that hard to make a VR mod for an already existing thing

I bought the DCS F-16 a week ago but have only touched it once because i'm so in love with BMS even after having had to read manuals for 6 months. And then you guys give us this. I think there's a God for nerds like me.
you need the exact same manuals for DCS's F16 though
@@Kid574 Some things are different but the data and most procedures are the same. The E/M graphs are better in BMS especially if you can get hold of the hardcopy of the Falcon 4.0 manual

Amazing. I want to start playing again there is a lul where I don't want to create any videos because 4.37 is so close to releasing. Need something to do. Thanks for all of the hard work from the BMS team. This sim is truly magical.
This is insane, I can't wait for what the future brings, development of BMS has picked up so much pace lately. I wish there would be an option for a legacy UI in the options menu as I really like the old school look. Other than that I'm super excited for the upcoming graphics update in the following years, Benchmark Sims - you guys have really gone above and beyond for all of us, thank you so much.
You can choose between old and new UI in 4.37

I am touched in the most profound way by your(BMS Developers) generosity, unalloyed dedication, and drive over these longs year of work just to bring pleasure to many. I cannot say thank you enough to all of you who have worked and continued to work on this masterpiece called Falcon 4. The fact that you do this amazing work for FREE is beyond me to fathom.
I have followed this sim through its many iterations back in the olden days i.e Falcon 4, FF3, FF4, FF5, FF6(Still have those files in my storage hard drive for collection purposes), then BMS. I still remember the notorious "falcon dance" terminology that describes the difficulty of getting those iterations to work on our pc. Thank you BMS Developers, I salute you all.
This is rather superb. Just finished loading the updated version and tweaking my VR settings. Very smooth using an RTX3080. Visually there isn’t a huge difference between the F-16 cockpit in BMS and DCS as far as I can see. I’ve dabbled around the edges of Falcon since it first came out. This might just be the catalyst that finally draws me in to the undeniable depth and richness of the sim. Kudos to all involved 🎉🎉
BMS is honestly the most comprehensive, detailed and in-depth modern combat flight sim out there right now and everything else just pales in comparison from a simulation/realism standpoint. No AAA corporation with all its infinite money and resources could ever create something like BMS, which is the product of passion and a dedication to authenticity and realism.

I might regret saying this as a 15y but getting Falcon BMS was the best decision I made in my life. I can't wait for the future.

BMS Team, you gentlemen are truly miracle workers and I thank you for your selfless devotion to the greatest combat flight sim of all time. I was able to download the new installer package, install it, jump in the jet and fly within 10 minutes…. Are you kidding me? I’ve been doing the Falcon dance since 1999, it’s got to be harder than this! 10 minutes to fly in VR! OUTSTANDING WORK!

Welcome back into my life Falcon. Its been like what.... 23 years?
Words can't describe the level of my excitement from the new VR support. This sim has been a part of my life ever since it was released, some 24 years ago. And now with this new release, my passion for it has rekindled. Thank you so much, BMS dev team, for keeping this sim alive and kicking!
Truly impressed and blown away by the amount of dedication, effort, and ultimate payoff from the BMS team over these many years. I'm really excited to give VR BMS and the new UI a try!

WIP for now, but according to the video should be finished with the next version. But then again, is the F-16 even finished? There is always something to do/improve.
@@TheFietek agree, they don't need to short themselves by saying "early access" like some other software .. just embrace the spirit of "continual improvement" which is what BMS has always been about! we've had the "early access" F-15 for about 20 years now, lol
F-15E has been under development from Razbam now 7 years. Likely BMS get to do it faster and better, even if just C version.

VR update is what I've been waiting for
I have been playing falcon bms since .32 it's hands down the best military study sim out there. Thank you to the bms development team for continuing to develop Falcon into the simulator that adheres to the spirit of Falcon 4.0.

The end of the trailer shows graphics with new terrain engine? Looks fantastic!
Not JUST the new terrain engine, but also PBR (physics based rendering) which is a totally modern way of handling lighting and how objects skin/materials interact with it.

I'm old, teen during the 80s...Loving the 70s-80s theme music...
This is very exciting. A full dynamic war in VR. DCS just didn't cut it for me so keeping a close on on this one.
ED is heavily pushing now the dynamic campaign, but they have been promising it to come out since 2015, just like having a lot better combined arms (that NineLine had declared officially as feature complete module) as well ground AI.
Sadly it might be that ED can not provide competition to BMS in dynamic campaign features, as they have been in the past very oppositions about required features for it and multiplayer to punish players from stupidity, like opt-in features from server for player dying in cockpit would mean incapability to play on that server for some punishing time like 12-48 hours. Or getting plane damaged would require hours for repair, not mere minutes.
Or how about even common ATC to based that would be required for players to obey to letter, not taking off and landing like idiots. And same time support for proper AI GCI for Soviet side to guide players in intercept and air patrols.
They have been told for over decade that what DCS needs, but their community managers don't seem to inform developers and inform the players that what is in the planning.
This is what makes BMS great as developers actually deliver and inform better their dreams and goals.

BMS was my first real flight simulator and they way I could feel what the jet was doing hooked me. If I asked for two miracle they would’ve be…. Miracle 1 FPS with real people fighting on the ground. Miracle two the Super Hornet and carrier ops at the same level as the F-16. I would need an intervention lol

The addition of VR and the coming terrain engine looks to be enough for me to also play bms besides DCS. Looks great! All that remains is some nice volumetric clouds :O

Hopefully it means better controls binding system. Seriously, just copy the DCS binding design as it is best there is. Just make as well the controls groups better by naming them based panels (left wall, left panel, UFC, right panel) so you know what to look and search from where.
And make it even better, by using that interactive cockpit to do binding, activate binding mode, click cockpit function and then physical controller button or axis. And check mode where you press physical controller and you see binded function highlighted in cockpit.
(Just like you can in DCS when you have binds list open).

Music in this exciting video sounds like a mix of Yoko Kanno's score for 'Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex - 2nd GiG' as well as Howard Shore's score for 'Lord of the Rings - Return of the King' - an excellent choice.

I cant play, r the game on vr or anything else other than a tactical game where i alocate the flight plans and missions, since my notebook cant handle a 3 d potato, but man does the game got gorgeous!!!!
Honestly im thankful for the hardwork of this dev team over the years and sincerely hope that the game get a bigger and bigger fan base and never ceases to grow, even tough i know the latter is just a dream....
