Cyriak is legit one of the best in the game I've ever seen for a consistent megaWAD difficulty curve: and the secret is his unreal enemy positioning/composition.. and the correct ratio of guns, health and ammo.
Agree with this wholeheartedly, so far, this has been one of the most fun, infuriating, and challenging packs I've played, often all at the same time. Would love to see him do more mapping, hope he does so in the future.
I know it kinda sucks to do, but I kinda like seeing the difference between how you approach a map completely blind versus knowing a bit more of what to expect. I feel like you play much more aggressively the second go-round and it's kind of interesting seeing it right after the more cautious blind run.
Agreed! Seeing Decino accidentally take splash damage and even melee damage from a baron (or knight?) who was directly above him in the stands made me think the restart was due to a last-minute death. This was an interesting surprise.
@@DinnerForkTongue -You have to fight through the imps to get to it, and the switch for them is behind the cyberdemon so... good luck?- Wait, no, never mind, I'm stupid.
I really love how Cyriak mixes chaotic and discordant music with an attention to detail in level design that is unparcelled. And your right, he does deserve a lot more credit then he gets.
Gladiator is one of the most memorable maps despite being relatively easy compared to what's up ahead. Prepare for another crazy difficulty spike from which you will never return.
The audible disappointment in discovering the secret Invuln really hits hard. Ah well, would be cool to see a special speedrun episode of this chapter with that newfound knowledge, see if you can wipe the map before it expires. Also, hearing Chimpnology again is cool, another favorite of the Cyriak audio library.
Very cute idea for a map. I had a big smile on my face from the moment I saw the crowd in the arena. The cyberdemon being in the royalty spot is a nice touch too.
This series is what I've been watching exclusively as I eat dinner for a few weeks so I wouldn't be surprised if every top tier blind Decino playthrough series automatically makes me hungry from now on haha. I always enjoy my dinners more watching Decino I've noticed and I try to keep looking down at my meal to a minimum so I don't miss anything. :P
Ahhhh how can one small arena have so much action and energy?? Cyriak is a master of consistent DOOMwad creation. Can't wait to see/hear the levels/music you've been working on lately
Such a gripping wad to watch. The constant questioning of your actions and the fear of the unknown in these blind runs is addictive viewing. So many unique features. Top dooming Decino👍
Cyriak's fights really are as great as his theming creativity. I played this wad about 100 times in coop (not exaggerating btw) and while himself mentioned in the readme coop was completely untested, it plays superb. Players can take on enemies spawning from different directions, there's always something to shoot whichever way you go, everyone gets to help each other and feel like a hero. Cyriak, thanks for the wad. This is definitely one of the top 10 wads of all time, in Doom's 27 years of existence.
This is one of the craziest maps I've ever seen. The whole gladiator arena concept is deeply inspired and creative! It feels almost like a new game-mode for Doom classic, after almost 30 years.
Drove me nuts until I figured out the best sequence for me, was fun watching an entirely different strategy play out, especially considering how limited your options are. Mind you, once you know where that invuln is... The "oh...." was priceless though.
Really enjoyed watching this video the map design was really cool with all the demons watching you fight through the waves of demon's then having to fight them as well it almost felt like the one's watching from the side line's were expecting you to die and because you didn't they decided to try and kill you along with the cyber demon which was really cool I think if the demon's watching woke up at the start it would have ruined it a bit it. definitely was a lot better having the demons watching as the last wave for the reason I said and I completely agree the use of demon's in these levels are really well done the fights seem fair and well thought out which is definitely refreshing to see. Only down side for me and its nothing against the map maker or the level itself is the ending I have thought there would be a switch or portal to press/walk into for the secret level but again that's just me nit picking the level all round was really good. Anyway as always Cheers for upload decino and look forward to seeing the next one. Cheers
Cyriak is for sure a renaissance man; making a quality DOOM wad is shockingly the least of his talents Have you looked at Struggle - Antaresian Legacy? Very vanilla-like with its weapon replacements & some new monsters
you got trolled by the map again xD but other than that, there's still some interesting and creative features in this WAD including the bathroom one :))
Such a potentially simple idea for this map, beautifully executed by Cyriak. That surprise exit is very harsh, Decino. I'll never complain about seeing you clear a map twice. :-)
Your first run with the accidental exit was pretty much a mirror image of my first play through of this one too lol. Needed the invuln secret to get 100%. I imagine its caught many of us out initially!
I could feel the pain when you noticed obvious pillar secret with invul in the very start of the map too late, funny as hell :D Remember: always use the restroom before battling demonic hordes on a hellish underground arena (just don't forget to flush)
Somewhere in the audience sits Cyriak, moving his palm leaf fan and thinks: ' this man is good....too good. So where is my computer?' And he started a sequel. But that is an another... dream, not a true story.😉
Double feature again, im not complaining. In fact i love it, especially that its a very good map. And yes, i agree with what you said, the fights are very underrated, Going Down provides very interesting fights in very interesting maps/arenas. :)
Wow that was quick my friend Well I guese I'll bring my popcorn and enjoy the video and yes I was exciting for this map because the name Gladiator really stats to remind of the gladiator colosseum from the roman empire period which is really cool.
The "rioting crowd" of demons once you go for the key is a hilarious touch, what an amazing wad
Just finished Gorn a week or so ago, really similar
I love how all the hooligans in the audience start rioting if they don't get to see doomguy get killed by any of the waves.
>Going Down
>Goes up the stairs in the secret exit
Good job Decino.
"I see a Cyberdemon. I don't appreciate that." is probably the most chill reaction to a Cyberdemon I've ever heard.
Cyriak is legit one of the best in the game I've ever seen for a consistent megaWAD difficulty curve: and the secret is his unreal enemy positioning/composition.. and the correct ratio of guns, health and ammo.
Cyriak made this?!
So that's where I recognize the music from!
Agree with this wholeheartedly, so far, this has been one of the most fun, infuriating, and challenging packs I've played, often all at the same time. Would love to see him do more mapping, hope he does so in the future.

It's much interesting, I concur, but honestly, it's in the blind runs that he really shines. That calculated, aggressive gameplay has no soul in it.
7:43 "That's a nice picture" it's 2 am and I laughed very hard hearing that
"Are you not entertained? ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? Isn't this why you're here?!"
If your ever play this map again, make sure you immediately press all four switches for maximum chaos.
Just collect the invul first!
@@DinnerForkTongue -You have to fight through the imps to get to it, and the switch for them is behind the cyberdemon so... good luck?-
Wait, no, never mind, I'm stupid.
I saw someone do that in a speedrun.
Me and the homies always do that in survival coop, usually 80% of us lay dead by the end of the map but it's worth it
I did that on my first successful run. It was awesome.
I really love how Cyriak mixes chaotic and discordant music with an attention to detail in level design that is unparcelled. And your right, he does deserve a lot more credit then he gets.
I like how decino keeps on having to replay these levels not because he's dying to them, but because he keeps exiting without all kills/secrets lol
I enjoy seeing fun/unique/creative maps like these. They add a humorous tone while keeping the doom aspect.
Gladiator is one of the most memorable maps despite being relatively easy compared to what's up ahead. Prepare for another crazy difficulty spike from which you will never return.
The "I knew it!" decino is my spirit animal
The audible disappointment in discovering the secret Invuln really hits hard. Ah well, would be cool to see a special speedrun episode of this chapter with that newfound knowledge, see if you can wipe the map before it expires. Also, hearing Chimpnology again is cool, another favorite of the Cyriak audio library.
*Decino uploads yet another double feature*
"ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?"
I could feel the disappointment in decino’s voice when he found the invuln 😅
"man, decinos been doing really well last couple weeks, hasn't launched a rocket in his face for awhi....."
"oh nevermind"
austrian painter stares at you while you bathe and shit
Treat yourself and replay the map using the invul secret and release all the waves at the samte time. Also going up was the name of the first map
For real. I think he missed out on how crazy and hilarious this gets when you go hell for leather on all the features.
Very cute idea for a map. I had a big smile on my face from the moment I saw the crowd in the arena. The cyberdemon being in the royalty spot is a nice touch too.
This is without a doubt the most entertaining to watch wad I’ve ever seen
Neat. These inventive Going Down levels always make me smile.
This wad has a brilliant sense of humor.
Loving this WAD and always love finishing my day with a therapeutic video of demon slaughter. Thanks Decino!!
Cyriak be like "Yeah, Decino's been avoiding my game for too long, so I'll make sure he has to do two double features in a row!"
No mercy from here on out. The second half is quite the hike in difficulty.
This is definitely one of the most interesting WADs out there. Real REAL nice and addictive.
You looking for secrets is so relatable. I missed the invulnerable secret at first too.
Poor Spider Mama is just too thicc for her own good
Ahhhh how can one small arena have so much action and energy?? Cyriak is a master of consistent DOOMwad creation. Can't wait to see/hear the levels/music you've been working on lately
I like the concept and the layout very much. Fun to see Cyber as Caesar :) good job!
Easily one of your best series. We all know Cyriak is a machine but man he really went above and beyond with this WAD. Hope he makes more.
The secret invuln is really great to just get all the guns fast and let the fight go wild.
Well, you know that @decino is a master player when he decides to JOIN an infight in the arena! (^.^) ( At 13:35 )
This is the reason why I have teleport lines and level exit lines highlighted in colour in GZDoom. No regrets.
None whatsoever.
So do I but I never pay attention to it.
Making these maps is like an art on itself.
This whole wad is just fantastic.
Apart from everything, is a pretty cool/fun idea for the map
Literally the only channel I watch these days
This wad is getting better and better. So much diversity and different map lay-outs and type of maps, really amazing keeping the fun in every map.
I agree, that's a nice painting.
The plot told through these intermission screens is so engaging!
What an interesting and fun concept for a map, gladiatorial arena. And its fun to see how you approach a map blind and when you know it already
I'm a simple man, I see a Decino upload, I click like.
Such a gripping wad to watch. The constant questioning of your actions and the fear of the unknown in these blind runs is addictive viewing. So many unique features. Top dooming Decino👍
"I kinda wanna grab a chaingun. Chainguns are nice to have."
Just a hint to whoever ends up being Decino's Secret Santa this year.

Cyriak, thanks for the wad. This is definitely one of the top 10 wads of all time, in Doom's 27 years of existence.
Definitely one of my favorite maps visually speaking.
This is one of the craziest maps I've ever seen. The whole gladiator arena concept is deeply inspired and creative! It feels almost like a new game-mode for Doom classic, after almost 30 years.
17:50 When you paid the full price package for your son at a theme park, only to find they were giving away free passes
That's for when you want to rush in and grab ALL the weapons at the start!
i love how i can somehow hear you smiling when you first see the arena
Very criative and verry well designed, i really enjoy this arena with "public". Congrats to the creators.
Black Mass soon! :D Can't wait to see dem Decino strats. Love your channel man. I always look very much forward to each of your videos.
Cyriak is making gimmicks great again
Easily my favorite map in the wad! I always love trying to go balls to the wall and seeing if i can make it through.
This was my favorite level of the entire wad, it's so cool
YESSS EVERYDAY
Wow I want everyone to know I was the safari lion guy.
I love this map a lot, it just has that really immersive feel with the audience setup
Drove me nuts until I figured out the best sequence for me, was fun watching an entirely different strategy play out, especially considering how limited your options are. Mind you, once you know where that invuln is... The "oh...." was priceless though.
It's astonishing how much better (both artistically, and thematically) these community-made maps are compared to default maps in Doom.
Cyriak is for sure a renaissance man; making a quality DOOM wad is shockingly the least of his talents
Have you looked at Struggle - Antaresian Legacy? Very vanilla-like with its weapon replacements & some new monsters
Struggle is one of my favs, first few maps are a bit underwhelming but once it hits its stride its great.
nice! another going down video - didn't expect that this soon. already looking forward to the next map !
you got trolled by the map again xD
but other than that, there's still some interesting and creative features in this WAD including the bathroom one :))
Sweet, more Going Down! Great fun to watch
This wad is amazing and I absolutely love it!
Such a potentially simple idea for this map, beautifully executed by Cyriak.
That surprise exit is very harsh, Decino. I'll never complain about seeing you clear a map twice. :-)
Sorry decino, but I'm very amused by your bad luck 2 maps in a row. Such a joy as always!
11:50 One imp's lifelong dream of becoming a go-go dancer finally coming true. 🤩💃
two great runs decino, looking forward to seeing you go stair crazy
Nice map! You so professional man!
I laughed so hard "I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I--"
Always love your content Decino!
Now play the map by grabbing the invulnerability at the beginning and grab all weapons at once. Embrace the carnage !
One of the best maps can't wait to see your reaction!
The best map in this wad so far. Really enjoyed it. Thanks, decino.
Your first run with the accidental exit was pretty much a mirror image of my first play through of this one too lol. Needed the invuln secret to get 100%. I imagine its caught many of us out initially!
This map is pretty cool
Map 31's not called "Going Up" because that was the name of Map 01. :)
Oh yeah lmao.
I had been following Cyriak for a long time, got back on DooM when I found out about his WAD.
I could feel the pain when you noticed obvious pillar secret with invul in the very start of the map too late, funny as hell :D
Remember: always use the restroom before battling demonic hordes on a hellish underground arena (just don't forget to flush)
tbh I half expected the final secret to be behind the sink... you know, because a good marine always washes their hands after using the toilet
I'm.just so glad you came back cuz once I'm don't serving food her in Cali I just want a bit of doom. And cino your the guy.
I enjoy your "double features".
This map much like the last, provides a variety of paths to choose. It was exciting.
I can see that Decino is very impressed with this WAD and is looking forward to play the next map everytime.
Somewhere in the audience sits Cyriak, moving his palm leaf fan and thinks: ' this man is good....too good. So where is my computer?'
And he started a sequel.
But that is an another... dream, not a true story.😉
Double feature again, im not complaining. In fact i love it, especially that its a very good map. And yes, i agree with what you said, the fights are very underrated, Going Down provides very interesting fights in very interesting maps/arenas. :)
The first time I'm sure you fought only 2 arch viles, but the second go around, up pops a magical third vile.
I think the long swish to the blowing up sound is supposed to be the toilet flushing. Clever use of the sfx!
i love this wad, the
mom's calls are really funny
Cyriak & Ribbex should collaborate on a WAD, honestly. Both are geniuses!
That invulnerability could've come in handy with that last wave. Oh well.
Have fun with the enemy placement in the next two maps.
Going Down, my fav doom wad
:)
Hey this map looks pretty good you freakin kill em quick
7:43 it’s a famous Austrian Painter, have some respect
Wow that was quick my friend Well I guese I'll bring my popcorn and enjoy the video and yes I was exciting for this map because the name Gladiator really stats to remind of the gladiator colosseum from the roman empire period which is really cool.
I hope the last level of the WAD is the hell itself, we go down so much we get to hell.
💀 *F O R E S H A D O W I N G* 💀
Enemy placement is king in this wad
Not a bad map at all. I guess the secrets are there for a reason for you to use when the time is right. Very good sir.
