Good evening guys, what an absolutely breathtaking walk, from the the low level forest walk up into the wondeful mountain tops, This veiws at 6.55 wow! The cracking little trig too. Loves some of the names and lochs you could see too, really fab stuff guys, right up our yea guzzling alley! The Howe of the Cauldron looked amazing, another walk for another day hey guys! What a day indeed 🤗♥️ loved the stream pitstop too, and the beautiful Fox Moth, always a treat. The Bruces stone was a great share too, dont think we had seen that before either. Thanks for the video you two, have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat ☕👍🤗♥️

Hey Ceri and Kat, thank you so much for the fab comments guys, means a lot coming from you two🙏. This was actually one of our favourite hikes ever, such a perfect day, we have done higher mountains but this one was just special, looking across at the ridge route over to the merrick was just gorgeous, our first time visiting the Galloway Hills but we will be back without a doubt. We actually had the majority of the walk to ourselves which was really special. Can thoroughly recommend this area if you guys get the opportunity, so much history Kat can explain i am sure much better than we did😆👍. Yes the Howe of the cauldron were can see that as a future video title!😆👏. Take care and have a wonderful weekend guys

Hey Debs! Thank you as always for leaving us such amazing comments, it really does make our day😊👏. So glad you enjoyed our little video, and we could bring some sunshine to rainy Devon today. This was probably one of our favourite hikes so far, it was stunning and so exciting to find a completely new area to explore. Aw we would love a pond, we were up in the lakes last weekend and we walked past a pond and then realised the ground was moving! Loads of tiny little frogs hopping about, so cute!😍🐸. It took us ages to get passed we had to tread so carefully so we didn't step on any of them! We get the maps using an app called relive, it's really easy to use you just start and stop with one button and then save it to your phone, you should give it a go👍. We are really sorry to hear toto isn't well. Hope you can get out again soon. We have a couple of your videos saved to watch so will look forward to those🤗. Take care and have a nice weekend. Big hugs, Shell and Pete x

This vlog brings back some good memories of my own hike to the summit of the Merrick. I remember reaching the first peak (Benyellary) and thinking I was there - then realising I had to head down a little before walking back up towards the actual summit. Great hike! You had far clearer views from the top than I had.

Yes it is a fantastic hike up the merrick isn't it, we were so lucky with the weather that day😊🌄. We are hoping to return to the Galloway forest this spring for another hike, possibly a wild Camp 🏕🤞. Glad we could bring back memories of your own hike in this beautiful place. Thanks so much for watching, all the best, Shell and Pete😊👊👍

I did this route in September - atrocious weather, gale forece winds, stinging heavy rain and dense cloud cover. So - it was nice to see what the walk actually looks like - stunning, will try and plan in a return trip for a nicer day.

Love this video; great job capturing the essence of this trail ❤️ This would be on our ‘must-do’ list when visiting Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I’ve been a fan of the history of this area for many years and what a thrill it would be to stand near Loch Trool near the remembrance stone for Robert the Bruce ❤️ An incredible place to behold. Pete and i both have Scottish roots in our family so we are also fans of Scottish history, it is so dramatic and we did feel an atmosphere to the area around the Loch. It was indeed an honour to stand at the scene of such an important part of history and imagine what it must have been like back then🥰.
