Plaits is a wonderful thing. Beads is wonderful too. So glad I picked up both of them! Two "must haves". Thank-you for doing this really musical video. It gives us a real sense of the possibilities! Nice progression too!
This’d be ace at an outdoor rave on a nice warm day in some field. Just as your Stuff starts to take hold and the nervous doubts you had about taking it melt away. You smile at everyone around and they all smile back, nodding. Everyone grooves. Nice 👍
Awesome awesome awesome ! serious grooves. Could I ask, what is creating the bassline at 16:23 ? is that the dixie ? it has some sick funk to it, not sure how to a) create that sound or b) gate it in such a way...
Great video, as always! I wanted to ask you about how you implement the TR-08 into your modular system? How do you sync it? Do you process audio from the TR08 in the modular at all? Do you recommend it over using modular drum voices, say from tip top or so? thanks in advance!
Ace. Were you postprocessing the Rolandy bits? They sounded a bit crushed in parts, very good. One of these days I'll weaken and add a Metropolis to the rack. I loved your main video on it.
I do really really like the TR08...having the full 808 voice is amazing. It’s reminding me that having preset libraries of rhythms you can bounce to is no bad thing
Hm, I really don't care for the tone of almost all digital oscillators, but I'm intrigued by that VC rotator that you don't seem to be using here, you're the only one other than JLR I've seen with one, order straight from ADDAC?
It seems pretty similar to some of the matrix switches out there like WMD SSM, but smaller, and thus, also much more expensive per HP, like most ADDAC products.
I don't know actually, but to me it is not what Soundcloud "electro" playlists think it is. I expect electro to be cold, sparse, mechanical, aggressive and driving. Maybe my definition is too narrow. Listening to this again, I hear electro in the bass and some of the percussion, but they are relatively low in the mix and the high lines and samples are mellow, warm and, dare I say, trippy. Not a bad combination at all and if that fits your definition of electro, cool!
That seems to have a good overview of 80s electro, mentions a second period of turn-of-the-century electro and notes how the modern use of the term "electro" has very little to do with either of the earlier periods. Listening to a bunch of those 80s tracks, I realize that the first and second eras seem to be pretty far apart and I want to hear more of both of them.
Yes it is. Electro started out in the break dancing days actually. It can be pretty experimental such as Herbie Hancock etc. Definitely electro in my book just maybe not the type you like?
Platz is Brads little sister. she is pretty hot right now, so Brad is pretty fed up with everybody trying to get a hold of his sister, he is very sad that his phase of popularity has ended. who knows, maybe god will have mercy on him and ask olivier to change his mind
i want a modular synth... this makes me...
*intellijealous*

Happy claps when you find a “new” mylarmelodies video that you hadn’t seen yet because you watched all the others 10X already. 😂🙏🏻💯
Nice Jam. Love the videos! You’ve really been an inspiration in my modular questation. Ace.
This sound beautiful
Not only the hardware but the way you arranged everything thats really cool
I would totally buy that song
wow....making mad progress. this is tiiiight.
Great video. Where's the bass coming from ? Plaits?
Sir,
Your greatest 'Steevio' performance yet. :hat1:
This is a good sign!! Thanks for positive vibes x
Your welcome. I am also building a 'live techno' modular setup favoring improvisation; your help has pivotal for me. I am indebted.

Nice one! I love the one sequencer approach too. Especially when combined with things like Kinks and bunch of mults and attenuators :-)
super inspiring video!
I'm sensing Steevio vibes 12 min in. Thx as always..
Fantastic! Thanks for the video.
Tasty af! Always love your videos
I’m jealous, I want one! Thanks for the cool vid 👍

Ta for sharing. Really like the stuff that's going on at around 15'00".
Richard Lacy yeah really it picks the energy there
wavetable modulation on this thing sounds killlerrrrrr
I love your watchband! ❤️

It's the Dixie and the Doepfer Wasp filter!!
great video!
how would you compare Metropolis and Varigate 8 as sequencers
Please tell me more about that swatch on your wrist :)
Sounds awesome!
How would this compare to something like the telharmonic? Looking at the two at the moment...
Riding the random train to Randomtown!
Beautiful watch you’re wearing! What is it?
Swatch Pop!
Nice vibes! But now I want a Plaits as well... 😳👍🎛
Erik Polder get it. It’s quite good.
Is it possible to change what chord plaits plays in each step?
Yep. Just modulate it per step!

It has a trigger out, which means that it is the master clock in this case.
Love it man!
do you have an EOS in your rack? How is it? Is it tweakable (with the update)?
Bibi What the AD reverb? I don’t I’m afraid
what 5 tier rack (case) are you using? where can i get it?
It’s a Ginko Synthese DIY case!
nice! Does the tr08 the drumming job live now?
Unifono2012 Testing it out, either way definitely not exclusively, plus I may end up triggering it from modular
Ace. Were you postprocessing the Rolandy bits? They sounded a bit crushed in parts, very good. One of these days I'll weaken and add a Metropolis to the rack. I loved your main video on it.
John Slee Yup, thru Future Sound Systems TG4 (both a VCA and a distortion/line input module it seems)
Better every set. Are you preferring having your drums out of the case?
I do really really like the TR08...having the full 808 voice is amazing. It’s reminding me that having preset libraries of rhythms you can bounce to is no bad thing
Groovie Chicco Groooovie! :)
i... need... that ... data module!!!!!!!

Was given it by ADDAC to try! Not dipped into it yet but will do, seems really smart
It seems pretty similar to some of the matrix switches out there like WMD SSM, but smaller, and thus, also much more expensive per HP, like most ADDAC products.
Very cool!
14:07 to 16:09 = very yes
i would get high and start twistin
Jam jamma jammaram yay
Sounds like those old 1980s Casios.
Jesus Christ that was nice!
Mylar...i need lessons with you!...and do you know Lyonel Bauchet videos?...watch it !
Lovely demonstration jam, but is it really electro? 😉
Well, there’s a debate. Then what is “proper” electro?
I don't know actually, but to me it is not what Soundcloud "electro" playlists think it is. I expect electro to be cold, sparse, mechanical, aggressive and driving. Maybe my definition is too narrow. I got giggles ( in a good way) at about 15:10
What's makin the robo voice? Very nice BTW :)
Plaits!
Reminiscent of Herbie Hancock's "Sextant"
¡ W I C K E D !
oh no i've been saying "plates" and it's been "plattz" all along
bebop7 Hah, I did wonder whether that’d trip people up when I first read the name, took me a while to go “oh fuck, as in plaited hair!!”
Animistas like chords
🖤⚡️
Would give my last piece of chocolate for a one hour lesson with you.
Almost like Steevio.

Can somebody hold my hand as I dive into the world of eurorack and blow all my money?
10 minutes in... tribute to Stephen Hawking
hmm tapping into our "music has the right to children" space are we? :)
ridiculous mate
Lame digital stuff. A 808 boutique, really? It breaks my hart to see how quality is being destroyed in eurorack.
I forgot how when a replica is made of a thing, the original ceases to exist… and the replica can never be it's own thing.
Ed Random What
The 808 isn't Eurorack
Why waste time and energy being a purist about stuff that doesn't really matter?
I love digital synths, just as giving as analogue, most of Eurorack is digital.
