Thanks a lot for this truly useful video. Thematic videos are excellent for us, learners of your language. One question ❓ that's aroused on my mind while watching your video, dear teacher: is there any difference between the words "subtitles" and "captions." Thanks in advance for your help.
Great question! "Subtitles" are typically TRANSLATING language (ex. dialogue is in English, subtitles in Spanish) whereas "Captions" are not (ex. dialogue is in English, subtitles also in English) - captions are used by people who are deaf or have hearing difficulties.
Thank you Shayna for this helpful video. But what do you call a movie where there is a murder and either we or the policeman or hero must find out who did it?
@@EspressoEnglishNet thank you Shayna. What about "policeman film"? Doesn't sound right to me though. What do you call films such as " cold cases"? Murder mystery or something else?

Thank you! What's the difference between cartoons and animated films? ❤
Essentially no difference! "Cartoons" is just a shorter, more informal word for it.

"Murder mystery" if it's specifically about a murder, or "mystery" can refer to trying to solve any type of crime/puzzle.
