    I really like the surf beat and surf music in general. It's a shame there doesn't seem to be much to it, but I guess that's what makes it so good.

    Always nice to hear a drummer that gets the surf beat. Most don't. Most don't understand that it's all about the dynamics/accents -- a vocabulary sort of lost after the early days of rock.

    • @CyberChrist
      @CyberChrist 8 лет назад +1

      +Dave "The Daddy" Longman I think they get used to it faster because they so often have to do it in other domains.

    • @Meettheaurora007
      @Meettheaurora007 8 лет назад

      +Dave "The Daddy" Longman You get used to it.It's easier for us because the ratio(righty:lefty) is pretty much skewed.

    • @sticktodrum
      @sticktodrum 8 лет назад

      I've gotten used to it. I read R's as L's pretty fluently, see videos as if they're mirror images, and when practicing exercises, I'll often just do then right-hand lead anyway. It keeps my ambidexterity up, so it's not a big deal. The most difficult part of being a lefty drummer is really the equipment, but only so far as trying new kits in a store or sourcing a lefty double pedal easily or for a decent price. Long gone are those days, though, I bought all my stuff online and just go about my business.

    Hey @Drumeo, Im in my school band and I play percussions. I realized that I needed more practice when I got a hard drum kit part for our band. The only practice utilities I have is a drum pad that u bought and a pair of sticks I borrow from school. I saw the video of the Pat's single stroke practice. I decided to do that but I feel like the rebound my stick makes when I hit it doesn't feel right. Any tips that I could use?

    • @SantiAguirre619
      @SantiAguirre619 8 лет назад

      Try buying good sticks, many sticks have different qualities for their different brands. Personally, I'd recommend you to buy Vic Firth or Promark drum sticks. Choose the size depending on what you play (I use 5B because I play a lot of metal/hard rock, if you play more subtle genres, search for something lighter). Hope that helps.
