- Many mines are being caged off these days in the American Southwest. So I was surprised and still can't believe, these ones were open. In this video, I'll show highlights from some unexpected & abandoned mines we found in the area - as we were driving. We'll explore these hidden dangers in the desert mtns. and you'll see what scared the heck out of me!! There's just never a dull moment, when you're out off-roading and exploring in the Jeep Wrangler. But when it comes to 'mine exploration' - please be vigilant about your safety. There are a lot of hidden dangers.

So many open shafts. That is crazy, but very cool at the same time. Interesting how several old mine claims are being reopened. Great video Curtis. I know you went up the mountain to that other tailings pile. I can't wait to see what you found.

I was surprised how many little mine shafts were right here.
I guess that squirrel was a survivor from the wild fire. Most of his trees are gone now. I hope he can make it. At least he looks healthy.
