    Too bad live coverage of the races is so terrible. Makes me wonder why Discovery even bothered doing a deal to get the media rights. They're doing nothing with it so far. It's too bad, because this type of racing really shows off the type of riding a lot of people do: pedal up for challenging downhill trails.

    It would be cool if we could watch the races and if the "world" cup involved more than one stop in the USA.

    4:20 0.25x playback speed. Carbon bars aren't worth saving 100 grams, change my mind

      Good catch - I didn't even see the bar broke when I first watched - I was looking at the wheel thinking he'd planted it pointing the wrong way.

    Where is the Maydena coverage guys? Why are we in a situation where pro riders that are busy racing, post awesome content and race coverage and you guys have posted nothing since the race finished yesterday arvo. Not a good start guys. Useless.

    The basic question is what this abbreviation EDR supposedly means and why it has been changed to thie. Not for example EDC "Enduro World Cup". Still nobody has officially explained it

    I wouldn't exactly say the current enduro bikes pedalable up hills as there were in the early years, where they had longer liaisons. Focus is more on decendability

    How fast are the enduro guys compared to the DH guys? Could you put the top enduro guys in one of the DH rounds and they would do ok?

    • @janeblogs324

      Other way round mate, the top DH guys moved to enduro. Jack Moir, Sam Hill etc

    • @TylerHunt556
      @TylerHunt556 Год назад

      They are timed on their downhill run during enduro races. They do have to pedal up to the start before a certain time but the race results are based on the decent. So both enduro racers and DH racers do well in either race. Pretty interchangeable

    Still have no clue why aero clothing isn't a thing yet.... I would be very surprised if it would not account for at least 30 seconds over a half-hour race.

    • @streddaz
      @streddaz Год назад

      Aero clothing was a thing in DH in the 90’s. As tracks became more technical and not as fast they moved away from it and it didn’t make all that much difference. They don’t hit the speeds over long distances like road racing. The peak on you helmet would be enough drag to undo any savings clothing would give.

    • @niklasbirksted8175
      @niklasbirksted8175 Год назад +1

      @@streddaz I would be amazed if 90s DH riders/teams had access to more knowledge about aero gains than we have today. However, after researching for a bit, I found that there are limitations and riders are actually getting their clothes tailored as tight as UCI allows. But I think the gains of more aero clothes, even on MTB, is fairly well documented. At least, I found a few sources confirming it in less than ten minutes. One from bikeradar, although anecdotal, found a 3% gain/2 seconds pr. 70 seconds. That was done in a skinsuit though, and it's not realistic to convert a road outfit to DH or enduro, but protection and aero are not mutually exclusive.
      As for aero, you don't need the speed over long distance for it to matter. As long as you go +20kp/h (ish), aero drag is the main thing slowing you down (the threshold could be slightly different as rolling resistance is so much higher for MTB and the frames can't be as aero as road bikes). And because one thing (ie. the peak) is a hindrance, it does not mean that you still don't have significant gains to find elsewhere. When the gap between first and second are as low as the examples in the vid, I am yet to see any evidence that aero clothing is not super influential.
