- The Acer Predator Triton 900 is one of the coolest gaming laptops I've ever seen on Unbox Therapy. The Triton 900 features an unusual display hinge allowing the user to sit closer to the display. Gaming laptops can be uncomfortable to use but the Triton 900 with RTX 2080 graphics is the opposite.

We'll the battery life sucks even for a gaming laptop.
I Had a hinge Laptop, & they tend to give trouble around the hinge interms or transfering Power to the screen, SLEEP MODE etc....

Like so this goes on top: about the sound, you need to install their drivers. I have a predator and I was also disappointed with the sound on first impression. After I installed the drivers, it was almost twice as loud and better quality as well.

aspire r 13 has a hinge with a completely different purpose, it's for flipping the display and using it via touch, also if you notice keyboard on r13 is a traditional situated, you can't do what they did in this video to bring the screen closer to you. so not the same at all same thing with xps 12

This is an old model as well. The new Triton 900 will be converted into the new Acer Concept D9. A mini studio laptop.

This seems like a versatile laptop. There's the power, ergonomics and the touchscreen in one package. I can see a lot of game developers/designers wanting this. It would be heavy though.

What is rather worse in my opinion is that he doesn't mention the USB speed. "Traditional USB" isn't enough... In this case, the USBs had the blue marker which indicates that it would be a 3.0 or 3.1 Gen 1 (because it's the same thing) but if they weren't marked how would I know what speed it has?

Already done a longtime ago, one by Toshiba I think (which was AW-fucking-FUL, and the other by Dell on their 2012 XPS 12 and was actually REALLY good. And yes, kinda miss that feature too

Acer did this years ago with the R7-571 and 572, which was a beautiful laptop to use, but it was way before it's time. Lots of people couldn't wrap their heads around the thought of having the touchpad behind the keyboard (like I ever used that touchpad anyway) and gave it average reviews because of it. I still use that laptop to this day, even though I've bought another since.
The earliest convertible laptops were similar to this, but at the time convertibles weren't really a thing.
Look at the original VAIO Flip, VAIO Duo, Dell XPS, Acer Aspire R7 (it's exactly this design you're watching).
I own a VAIO Flip and still think its design (which was recently imitated by HP Folio) is the best form factor for converting. I guess the Yoga design was the easiest to do and took off as the standard first.
Acer Aspire R13 has the exact same hinge. Not being made anymore, cheap used (if you can find one). It's a very nice non-gaming ultrabook. Very solid, great screen, fast for productivity, good battery life. The touchpad is awful though and sometimes malfunctions, but I mostly use a mouse or the touchscreen anyway, so it's not that big of a deal.

Well seeing as you'll pay $3,800 usd for a 4k 144htz 1ms (4-5) IPS panel alone. It's not that hard to conceive. But I will say if you have $3,800 for a PC, dont buy a laptop, just build your own pc.

The hinge isnt actually new... it was there in a laptop called the Dell Ultrabook XPS 12. Dell no longer sells that laptop, but that laptop had the hinge like this, and its way older.

Why do all tech reviews think noone uses numpad. GTA 5 airplanes, using 3d graphics engines etc. It's still used quite a lot and it's very comfortable.

As a designer and developer, I'd love to see have this form factor on a work oriented machine. But it would have to have a clean design

@@gugildak12 My main machine is a 7yo big-screen iMac, and a Surface Pro for stuff on the go. The form factor on the surface pro is nice, but not comfortable for long sessions, with the smaller screen and flimsy keyboard, but it's nice for sketching stuff with the pen. The screen on the Triton is closer to the MS Surface Studio, which is awesome for sketching, with a big-ish screen and a proper keyboard. Sounds like something that ticks all the boxes for designing and coding stuff.
