It would be nice if the MiG-25 appeared in the game someday. During the Soviet Union near my city in Poland, 164 Kerch OGRAP was stationed, with Yak-28 and MiG-25 jets. I remember those MiGs flying over the city, they were very loud :)
and they made F15 so good for no real reason as they overreacted in paranoia caused by this new super soviet fighter that in fact was nothing more than fast climber with turn rate of a brick

it's a very fast interceptor meant to shoot down strategic bombers with heavy missiles, but the meta is not about shooting down bombers of that type at all, but I guess they could always just add MiG-25RB. I mean there are many earlier Soviet interceptors from the Soviet Air Defense Forces they haven't added to the game like Su-9 (the later one), Su-11 (again the later one), Su-15 (once again the later one), Yak-25, Yak-28P or Tu-28/Tu-128, but that's not surprising given there are not really many later strategic bombers (B-52, B-58, B-1, A-3 and A-5 for example) in the game from them to shoot at anyway. on the other hand there is no F-94, F-102 or F-106 for the US either or Tu-95, Tu-16 and Tu-22(M) for the Soviets either.
The mig-25 is an extremely specialized high speed high altitude interceptor it would be cool to have it in game but unless gaijin decides to add something the yf-12 or xb-70 it wouldn’t really offer anything over anything else besides being a really fast missile bus (this applies to the mig-31 as well)

Imo they were going head to head till 80's where soviet economy started collapsing.
That kind of depends, I’d say the US was probably behind until the exact moment the Soviets got Sputnik in space. After that (you know besides maybe a few months to a year of design time) the US was ahead in computer tech and composite materials. I mean the main problem with the Mig-25 is that it uses bulbs for transistors and heavy traditional alloys

hell, its not gonna be able to do low altitude high speed bombing. If the flight manual is anything to go by, seems it can just barely hit Mach 1 at low altitude (below 5,000m).

Mig 25 has a recorded max speed of mach 3.2 but it would damage the engine , some sources say it could go even faster, while the mig31 max speed is mach 2.83 BUT mig31 is still highly confidential with much classified information about it
The MiG-25 could be true if the F-15 turns out to be true, I’d be down if they are (it’d potentially give me a reason to grind the USSR air tree since the Germans got the MiG-29)
While it won't be very meta, I feel like it still deserves to be represented somehow. I could see it being in the bomber line if it can carry decent ground ordnance.

People, who want it, are the same sort as AC-130 ones. They dont understand the vehicle performance, but they will hype it for no reason (A-10, Mig-31 etc.)

I don’t understand the fascination with the mig 25 being added. It would play the same or worse as the 104 it had a terrible g limit and there’s not a big need for interceptors in the game with the lack of high tier bombers
People like me don’t just play the game for fun, we also play for the vehicles. There is no game in existence that plays like war thunder, it’s the perfect balance of realism and arcade elements. So me and many others would love to see all historical military aircraft added no matter the capabilities.

If the mig-25 gets confirmed it’s almost the same as saying the F-15 is coming.
F15 might have been a response to it IRL, but in game it would be far superior to a mig-25 or 31.
