changbin's vlogs are the shortest but they're always wholesome and fun! he has the sweetest relationship with his family. he always has them in his vlogs. it's so sweet how he took chan with them one time and in that vlog he filmed chan more than he filmed himself haha. i'm glad chan has them when he can't be with his own family 🥺
Changbin and Chan's friendship is so precious😭. every now and then the members have to write messages to each other (bday messages or messages for interviews...) and Chan and Changbin messages to each other always make me teary. "Chan to Changbin: We're literally together every day. When this interview finishes we'll go to exercise together again today. So what I want to say is: Please stay with me forever. We're still together right now, but I'm sure I'll be very lonely if you were to disappear. So I hope you'll stay with me forever"

I don't know that i could cry while watching red lights, but last night, at our sexy af dwaekki part, my tears just there on my cheek, LOL. Changbin and Chan have a beautiful bond, I enjoy seeing the two together. They both really hype each other up when they're in a good mood. Also I love how consistent Changbin can be, he really does stick to his "principle and beliefs". Jutdae! Skz core! Also your comment about the ex-member? I don't know much about how much Chan relied on him but I think because wj was the eldest (older than Chan by 6 months, I think) Chan did give him responsibilities or trusted him to look out for the younger ones and help them when they need it (it was mentioned in Chan and wj kids room) but when wj left the dynamic shifted and you can see how they now all pay attention and care for each other, hyping each other up and all that.
The concert yesterday was mind-blowing. The screams when red lights started playing were so funny 🤣 it was a good thing that cheering wasnt restricted anymore. I especially love Charmer !!! the choreo is amazing and I've lost count on how many times I played the leeknow fancam that was going around on twt. I hope they release a dance practice. IKR they perform songs back to back in concert always amaze me idk how othr group did their concert but yess skz concert has always been like tht plus they perform ALOT of songs. Im always amazee like they must be rlly fit to have tht amount of breath cuz THEY SLAY IN EVERY SONGG
actually when wj left...my first reaction and thought was...'oh no but..chan' (my ult was Chan and the group dynamic was really important to me).Chan had said he relied on wj and since wj was the only one older than him he felt like he could share his burdens with him since he was afraid to burden the younger members. when wj left I was most panicked about who Chan would turn to and how he was going to mentally deal with this as the only older brother. it ended up working alright, the group actually bonded and got closer because of that experience. but yes they had dependable big brother roles in the group as a pair...another reason why I'm still quite bitter...
Must have been a huge adjustment. Chan would have had to trust leaning on some of the younger members - probably Binnie the most? Maybe Lee Know? Glad it worked out though. But man Chan has a lot on his shoulders!
@@melaniereacts Hi! Yes it was very hard for them since they're preparing for a comeback and concert tour when woojin left the group. They kept on re-recording their songs and most of wj parts were given to Lee Know I.N. Seungmin Han. Also Lee Know was the dance leader so he contributed alot to their choreo, teaching and encouraging everyone patiently. I agree with you I guess he really relied on Lee Know and Changbin the most. Lee Know is like an older brother to Chan at the same time his perfect little thing. He always knows when Chan is having a hard time even if he hides it and constantly checking on him if he's alright. When others are crying Lee Know is always holding back his tears and remaining strong for his members, he'll be by their side comforting and caring for them.

I say it with every 2KR but this REALLY is my fave duo! I love their relationship SO MUCH! They're really good for each other and I'm so happy they have each other to lean on. Changbin's vlogs are my fave! They're the shortest but they're always packed with laughs and wholesomeness bc he's with his family in all of them. when i say there's no point on having bias in skz it's true. My bias, is whoever is on the screen. Chan has always relied on changbin from the start, with 3racha and you can see that from the survival show. He said it was good to have a same age friend in the group but that was it, he wasn't really a long time trainee, he was from sm originally so it's not like the bond is that strong at that time. Except from 3racha, hyunjin and jeongin, the other members were trainees for a short time only. Seungmin, lee know and felix trained for less than a year. Felix only a few months and lee know just a month. The members got really much closer as time went by, their bond also got so much stronger after all the challenges they have faced each year. Skz are not fake, i don't know if you already know about han and hyunjin's story but they were not in good terms predebut and early days of debut lol they revealed that by themselves and it's been a joke now in skz and the fandom. You'll know once you get to wtach hyunsung two kids room. There's also a channel called sl123, their videos are very informative and i recommend watching the "skz fight history" video. Anyway changbin's vlogs are best and the cutest haha his sister usually films his vlog, you should watch it all~ so excited for the concert day3, have fun!
Imagine what it felt like to actually be at the concert... Well, I don't have to imagine, I was lucky enough to be there. And I tell you, the second mr Han Jisung started singing during Red Lights, I died (he's also my bias, so that made it even worse). Also, why were they wearing collars??? My mom was in the audience too 🥲
I don't have my usual infodump capacity, so this should be nice and short(ish). - A helpful STAY posted essentially the whole concert, and I'm dead from every moment of it. - For the Two Kids Room eps, one member does the intro voiceover and the other does the outro. So BOTH of them did the baby voice thing. - Binnie is the official fake maknae, but Chan is the backup, so having the two of them together is basically a guarantee of them being cute. They're the only members who actively enjoy being cutesy on a regular basis (other than Felix, but his is more just his natural mien than him _doing_ something in particular to be cute). - Chan definitely relied on Woojin. At the time, the members called them the mom and dad (or, as Chan pointed out, the dad and dad...but, y'know, conservative Korea and kpop, so they don't generally get to use that phrasing when they make these comparisons). Since Woojin was the same age as Chan (in the Koreans' minds) and was many months older than Chan (in his Aussie mind), Chan leaned mostly on him, way more than the others. He was practically the secondary leader. Lee Know has never had a hyung mindset, Changbin was the middle child of the group (still is), and everyone else is in the maknae line. After WJ left, Chan could have pulled completely inward and things could have gone downhill, but an interesting thing that can be picked up if you watch a lot of the content during that period (and up through now) is that he instead sort of spread out the support system. He himself mentions different things for which he relies on each member. He still has a support system, but it's no longer centered around one person, everyone can bear a portion of it suited to their abilities and nature, and all of them are more integrated as an intra-reliant unit because they've learned to all kind of follow that example and rely on different members for different things rather than any one person carrying the full load. - They not infrequently go to places like this during family time. (It's not really a vacation condo in the same way we might think of one outside Korea, with all the comforts and levels of luxury. It's more like one step up from camping.) Yes, they're kind of outside. Some of these have enclosed rooms, others basically have tent walls, but it's an uninsulated semi-outdoor space to grill and eat -- camp cooking with a thin wall for privacy. The actual living spaces are generally pretty minimalistc as well, but at least they're not in the freezing outdoors like the grilling/eating areas are. - I recommend watching their vlogs. They're basically all very short, maybe with an overall group average of...I dunno, 8-10 minutes each. And they're just super-simple little slices of real life like this. Binnie eating and playing with his family, Hyunjin solo traveling and trying to make out with/being rejected by Kkami, Seungmin and Binnie getting teased by their noonas, I.N being shown up in sass level by his little brother (Yoon is entirely unimpressed with I.N), Lee Know cooking and visiting his grandma and playing with cats, Han introverting and being visited by Lee Know and kind of just embodying "mood." Felix and Chan don't do many -- Chan already has Channie's Room, and Felix just doesn't, both probably to some degree because they can't just go home and visit the fam like everyone else -- but there are a few there too, and Bin has included both of them in his own outings. He took Chan on a family vacation, and he and Felix go on dates (their word, not mine) and wander around or go biking or whatever. - Yes, that's his mom, dad, and noona with him. His sister does a lot of his vlog filming for him. One of the funniest things is that in his family, Changbin is the _tall_ one. - 57:46 Korean pear. I have no idea if y'all have access to Korean pears or other Asian pears in Australia, but the consistency is much more like an apple than what we'd think of with a western pear. The thing they peeled first was a persimmon (although that's a really firm persimmon, and it's so weird to me for anyone to peel one like that), but the fruit on screen when you were investigating is a pear. (Persimmons are awesome, btw. It hadn't occurred to me that they weren't common in Australia. Now I'm wondering what else I haven't thought of that's common in one country and not the other. Like...I dunno, do you guys have four billion types of apples available like we do? What fruits are common vs unusual? #ThingsIHadntWonderedAboutUntilNow) - He went viral and was trending on twitter because of the scenes with him and his mom dancing and playing on the ice. 😆

It actually emotionally drained me and I didn't even watch the concert properly hahahaha tomorrow is going to be A LOT!! hahaha I didn't realise how cute they act together, it's so cute! re. WJ - I still cannot get my head around how hard that period of time must have been for them. It's nice to know that Channie "spread out" the support. I wonder if he consciously did that so that he didn't burden one person with everything, or if it happened naturally. I'm sure they all realised that everyone needed to step up in some way or another. Ohhhhh right. When they were eating I actually thought they were out at some sort of a restaurant. Girl, I was so starstruck by OT8 Red Lights, I didn't even know what to do with myself, It was incredible! For me, Lee Know (he even did the adlibs 😍) and Changbin's ( people often forget that he can sing, since he barely does it, but his tone on that part... ❤🔥) voices were the ones that fitted the song the best, aside from Chan and Hyunjin , of course. Channie and Binnie have the most endearing of relationships, it's so nice to see. And don't feel bad for having a bias line, we have the same one 😂, it doesn't mean that you don't love the others, just that you love your biases a bit more. I promise you, it's ok lol. I cannot wait for the next concert, now I feel I'm more prepared, but knowing SKZ, you can never be to comfortable! 🤣

yeah OT8 Red Lights was.....WHEW!!! They better not cut that song when they come to the states, I'm trying to see 8 men on leashes up close and personal lol I'll never forget watching this making film the second that it got posted and there was a clip where Chan was visibly seen saying "Fuck this shit" and Hyunjin laughed lol. Honestly your opening comments were such a mood. The concert airs morning time for me so during my lunch break yesterday I was getting all the clips and I ranted to my best friend (who has like 0 interest in kpop but is trying) for about an hour straight essentially just yelling 'OT8 RED LIGHTS!!!!!'. I'm gonna be watching the concert at like 9 in the morning and goodness help the people I live with. I might actually cry I haven't been this excited in so long. (My family also have 0 interest and just seem mildly confused by my reactions, so it was so nice to click on your video and immediately be like- she gets it!) The joy that these guys can fill me with is such a blessing, and because I know they work so hard for it I get like this little empathy boost when they do well like some proud family member or something. On the MV making video, I find it so interesting seeing the personality dynamics when they're split up. I've seen Stray Kids doing their greeting/step out at pretty much everything they do, and on MV filming they often do their greeting and then a secondary greeting and thanks for the staff/dancers etc. When I watched Kingdom I saw that a lot of the other groups would sort of bow in thanks to the staff etc. when the performance was done but I don't think I've seen another group with such a specific greeting before- but I haven't watched too much bts etc of other groups. I know that Chan seems kind of strict about it as a respect/manners thing, he and Lee Know once had a conversation where Lee Know was telling a story of visiting another artist and realising Chan wasn't there to lead the greeting and Chan was like 'see I've told you if I'm not there you have to do it' and Lee Know was like 'I did, I did' and explained how he like rushed through it quickly. And I noticed he made sure to lead the step out for him and Changbin and Felix. I also find it interesting how Seungmin has lowkey leader qualities too. I noticed that in Kingdom how self-confident he seemed during the Mayfly vocal meetings, but with him, Han, and I.N he also seems to naturally take over speaking for the group or interacting with the staff in that more formal role Chan tends to do. I know Han has social anxiety and finds new people or crowds difficult initially (something I relate hard to), so it felt like a nice little move in their dynamic that it wasn't defaulted to him as the eldest of their little unit to take the slight leader role. I love how well SKZ know each other and work as a unit, they each have their own strengths and seem to know really well how to use them to support each other. I have to admit I wasn't around when Stray Kids were a 9 so I don't know much, but from earlier stuff I've watched around the time they became an 8 I think compared to now, someone once pointed out that Chan seemed to always be monitoring the members, but a little distanced from them (around that time he realised Felix didn't sleep-cuddle with him like he did the others). I think he's always taken his responsibility so seriously it took him a while to learn how to relax into being able to interact and play the same as everyone else. Now I love how when Chan is serving food Seungmin will often go to offer Chan a serving first so he doesn't get forgotten, or the dynamic with Lee Know where Lee Know will step up and sort of co-parent a bit when needed. I feel like Changbin also really takes seriously the role of being a good support and influence on the younger members, he seems very self-aware about what areas someone might struggle in, who needs special attention paid to try and encourage their confidence. Chan seems to do the general group management but the others are really good at monitoring each other on performance aspects. Although it did make me laugh slightly when watching Kingdom when they did the Mayfly rap unit with 3racha and it was the first time I think I heard both Han and Changbin be slightly more formal and it was 'Chan-hyung' not 'Channie-hyung'. It was a sweet little detail but it felt like they were slightly on their best behaviour, meanwhile I.N was having a meltdown being told to address Peniel casually in the dance group. I'm really enjoying your videos. It's so nice to just see you enjoying things in such a relatable way. I hope the joy continues for you and I wish you the strength to survive Sunday!

I have been re-watching Red Lights OT8 multiple times before coming to watch your reaction. I was so hyped as the reaction started and I almost cried by the end of it, because of how precious the relationship between Chan and Changbin is and how adorable Changbin is. SKZ is such an emotional roller coaster. I've been DYING all weekend because of Stray Kids concert videos and i haven't even watched the full concert. Like... I feel like I'm dying. My heart has been in my THROAT all weekend. Head is mush. I will not be able to handle in person. It's fine. Say nice things at my funeral, thanks. The mesh shirts in the Red Lights video get me every time. The Hard Sexy line gets shared a lot... Yeah. I love the choreo for Surfin'. The whole video is such a happy pill. (I have cicadas in North Eastern US, so, i know exactly what that sounds like IRL!) Seungmin and Han are like ... My secret bias wreckers. Not my normal wrecker (Felix) but every now and then i just gasp and have to stare. Changbin and Chan are fighting for my attention almost always so learning that everyone in the group thinks of them as Mom and Dad is friggin not helping. I feel so full of love when I watch them. Like, seriously proud. I think I'm attracted to them, sure physically and their skills, but they both put so much emphasis on principle and jutdae. I love that they really hold true to what they say but aren't so stuck on themselves either. Changbin's family vlog melted me. It really informs so much about his personality when you see the way his Noona teases him and his parents teach/speak with him. Really explains how he behaves with the members. based on what I had been watching since 2017, bangchan did rely a lot on wjn, he barely came to the dorm as he's always in the studio back then, so he trusted wjn to take care of the younger members at the dorm. i also noticed on skztalker that few months before his leaving, wjn didn't really communicate with the younger members except there's chan between them while the other 7 kids just get along so well. on the day of Double Knot mv release, skz did a unit vlives, it was lix, seungmin, i.n, hyunjin, wjn, at their dorm, and 3racha+lee know at jyp building. i immediately noticed that wjn didn't get along well with the younger ones when lix had to quietly ask permission from wjn to go to the toilet during the vlive. lix asked him with somehow I interpret it as a lil frightened face because I think he won't make such a face if he only had to ask chan or lee know, and other members also suddenly became quiet and tensed waiting for wjn's response. after his leaving, the first thing chan did was post an apology letter on their exclusive vlive channel. the letter was not reposted by any jyp official accs which means it bangchan himself who posted it exclusively on the channel where there were only stays there w/o jype staff knowing (there was no bubble back then). In the letter he apologized and blamed everything on him; for not being able to keep the number 9 and to cause pain to stay and the members. based on his letter, I think chan kind of blamed himself for barely knowing what happened at the dorm and what his members had been going thru during his absence. i think that was also the turning point where chan started to be moooreeee affectionate and clingy with his members, for real, it was different, chan's attention towards each members from before oct 2019 to after oct 2019. also, since then, each member just went bloom!!! they finally started to show more confidence abt their abilities and passion and I am so happy about it. wjn's leaving was indeed triggered a huge shift within the group. chan now trusts lee know a lot to handle the kids if he's not around. while mentally, he relies on changbin so much as they're 24/7 together.
From my observation I think at some point I’m not saying they lied but they acted that the group dynamic was all good and that was for the sake of the group now they’re sincere, they are genuine with each other and you can see honest feelings, so about the question you asked, I think it was hard for all of them at that time because they felt betrayed somehow and they worried about the group not because Chan didn’t find someone to rely on cause Chan said if Felix wasn’t there at some point he wouldn’t be there, he said that Changbin understands him the most and he can put his mind at ease when Lee Know is in charge so my answer to your question whether the former member independency affected Chan cause he was the same age is no Just my opinion and observation

hi most likely I will get hate for my words but Woo and Chan were quite close (although then all the members were not so close when compared to today) and this can be noticed if you watch their shared videos I know that a lot of bad things are written about Woojin (still....) but this is much less than good moments with Chan or the guys if you are interested in their relationship then you you can see the 2 kids room with Woojin and the members surprisingly they communicated well with I.N and it's noticeable. perhaps Jeongin saw in him a fatherly figure, as in Chan, who knows :) and sorry for my bad english, I hope it's readable As always, thanks for the video!!! I don't know much about how much Chan relied on him but I think because wj was the eldest (older than Chan by 6 months, I think) Chan did give him responsibilities or trusted him to look out for the younger ones and help them when they need it (it was mentioned in Chan and wj kids room) but when wj left the dynamic shifted and you can see how they now all pay attention and care for each other, hyping each other up and all that.
The concert yesterday was mind-blowing. The screams when red lights started playing were so funny 🤣 it was a good thing that cheering wasnt restricted anymore.

actually when wj left...my first reaction and thought was...'oh no but..chan' (my ult was Chan and the group dynamic was really important to me).Chan had said he relied on wj and since wj was the only one older than him he felt like he could share his burdens with him since he was afraid to burden the younger members. when wj left I was most panicked about who Chan would turn to and how he was going to mentally deal with this as the only older brother. it ended up working alright, the group actually bonded and got closer because of that experience. but yes they had dependable big brother roles in the group as a pair...another reason why I'm still quite bitter...

@@melaniereacts Hi! Yes it was very hard for them since they're preparing for a comeback and concert tour when woojin left the group. They kept on re-recording their songs and most of wj parts were given to Lee Know I.N. Seungmin Han. Also Lee Know was the dance leader so he contributed alot to their choreo, teaching and encouraging everyone patiently. I agree with you I guess he really relied on Lee Know and Changbin the most. Lee Know is like an older brother to Chan at the same time his perfect little thing. He always knows when Chan is having a hard time even if he hides it and constantly checking on him if he's alright. When others are crying Lee Know is always holding back his tears and remaining strong for his members, he'll be by their side comforting and caring for them.

when i say there's no point on having bias in skz it's true. My bias, is whoever is on the screen. Chan has always relied on changbin from the start, with 3racha and you can see that from the survival show. He said it was good to have a same age friend in the group but that was it, he wasn't really a long time trainee, he was from sm originally so it's not like the bond is that strong at that time. Except from 3racha, hyunjin and jeongin, the other members were trainees for a short time only. Seungmin, lee know and felix trained for less than a year. Felix only a few months and lee know just a month. The members got really much closer as time went by, their bond also got so much stronger after all the challenges they have faced each year. Skz are not fake, i don't know if you already know about han and hyunjin's story but they were not in good terms predebut and early days of debut lol they revealed that by themselves and it's been a joke now in skz and the fandom. You'll know once you get to wtach hyunsung two kids room. There's also a channel called sl123, their videos are very informative and i recommend watching the "skz fight history" video. Anyway changbin's vlogs are best and the cutest haha his sister usually films his vlog, you should watch it all~ so excited for the concert day3, have fun!

I don't have my usual infodump capacity, so this should be nice and short(ish).
- A helpful STAY posted essentially the whole concert, and I'm dead from every moment of it.
- For the Two Kids Room eps, one member does the intro voiceover and the other does the outro. So BOTH of them did the baby voice thing.
- Binnie is the official fake maknae, but Chan is the backup, so having the two of them together is basically a guarantee of them being cute. They're the only members who actively enjoy being cutesy on a regular basis (other than Felix, but his is more just his natural mien than him _doing_ something in particular to be cute).
- Chan definitely relied on Woojin. At the time, the members called them the mom and dad (or, as Chan pointed out, the dad and dad...but, y'know, conservative Korea and kpop, so they don't generally get to use that phrasing when they make these comparisons). Since Woojin was the same age as Chan (in the Koreans' minds) and was many months older than Chan (in his Aussie mind), Chan leaned mostly on him, way more than the others. He was practically the secondary leader. Lee Know has never had a hyung mindset, Changbin was the middle child of the group (still is), and everyone else is in the maknae line. After WJ left, Chan could have pulled completely inward and things could have gone downhill, but an interesting thing that can be picked up if you watch a lot of the content during that period (and up through now) is that he instead sort of spread out the support system. He himself mentions different things for which he relies on each member. He still has a support system, but it's no longer centered around one person, everyone can bear a portion of it suited to their abilities and nature, and all of them are more integrated as an intra-reliant unit because they've learned to all kind of follow that example and rely on different members for different things rather than any one person carrying the full load.
- They not infrequently go to places like this during family time. (It's not really a vacation condo in the same way we might think of one outside Korea, with all the comforts and levels of luxury. It's more like one step up from camping.) Yes, they're kind of outside. Some of these have enclosed rooms, others basically have tent walls, but it's an uninsulated semi-outdoor space to grill and eat -- camp cooking with a thin wall for privacy. The actual living spaces are generally pretty minimalistc as well, but at least they're not in the freezing outdoors like the grilling/eating areas are.
- I recommend watching their vlogs. They're basically all very short, maybe with an overall group average of...I dunno, 8-10 minutes each. And they're just super-simple little slices of real life like this. Binnie eating and playing with his family, Hyunjin solo traveling and trying to make out with/being rejected by Kkami, Seungmin and Binnie getting teased by their noonas, I.N being shown up in sass level by his little brother (Yoon is entirely unimpressed with I.N), Lee Know cooking and visiting his grandma and playing with cats, Han introverting and being visited by Lee Know and kind of just embodying "mood." Felix and Chan don't do many -- Chan already has Channie's Room, and Felix just doesn't, both probably to some degree because they can't just go home and visit the fam like everyone else -- but there are a few there too, and Bin has included both of them in his own outings. He took Chan on a family vacation, and he and Felix go on dates (their word, not mine) and wander around or go biking or whatever.
- Yes, that's his mom, dad, and noona with him. His sister does a lot of his vlog filming for him. One of the funniest things is that in his family, Changbin is the _tall_ one.
- 57:46 Korean pear. I have no idea if y'all have access to Korean pears or other Asian pears in Australia, but the consistency is much more like an apple than what we'd think of with a western pear. The thing they peeled first was a persimmon (although that's a really firm persimmon, and it's so weird to me for anyone to peel one like that), but the fruit on screen when you were investigating is a pear. (Persimmons are awesome, btw. It hadn't occurred to me that they weren't common in Australia. Now I'm wondering what else I haven't thought of that's common in one country and not the other. Like...I dunno, do you guys have four billion types of apples available like we do? What fruits are common vs unusual? #ThingsIHadntWonderedAboutUntilNow)

For me, Lee Know (he even did the adlibs 😍) and Changbin's ( people often forget that he can sing, since he barely does it, but his tone on that part... ❤🔥) voices were the ones that fitted the song the best, aside from Chan and Hyunjin , of course.

Honestly your opening comments were such a mood. The concert airs morning time for me so during my lunch break yesterday I was getting all the clips and I ranted to my best friend (who has like 0 interest in kpop but is trying) for about an hour straight essentially just yelling 'OT8 RED LIGHTS!!!!!'. I'm gonna be watching the concert at like 9 in the morning and goodness help the people I live with. I might actually cry I haven't been this excited in so long. (My family also have 0 interest and just seem mildly confused by my reactions, so it was so nice to click on your video and immediately be like- she gets it!) The joy that these guys can fill me with is such a blessing, and because I know they work so hard for it I get like this little empathy boost when they do well like some proud family member or something.
On the MV making video, I find it so interesting seeing the personality dynamics when they're split up. I've seen Stray Kids doing their greeting/step out at pretty much everything they do, and on MV filming they often do their greeting and then a secondary greeting and thanks for the staff/dancers etc. When I watched Kingdom I saw that a lot of the other groups would sort of bow in thanks to the staff etc. when the performance was done but I don't think I've seen another group with such a specific greeting before- but I haven't watched too much bts etc of other groups. I know that Chan seems kind of strict about it as a respect/manners thing, he and Lee Know once had a conversation where Lee Know was telling a story of visiting another artist and realising Chan wasn't there to lead the greeting and Chan was like 'see I've told you if I'm not there you have to do it' and Lee Know was like 'I did, I did' and explained how he like rushed through it quickly. And I noticed he made sure to lead the step out for him and Changbin and Felix. I also find it interesting how Seungmin has lowkey leader qualities too. I noticed that in Kingdom how self-confident he seemed during the Mayfly vocal meetings, but with him, Han, and I.N he also seems to naturally take over speaking for the group or interacting with the staff in that more formal role Chan tends to do. I know Han has social anxiety and finds new people or crowds difficult initially (something I relate hard to), so it felt like a nice little move in their dynamic that it wasn't defaulted to him as the eldest of their little unit to take the slight leader role. I love how well SKZ know each other and work as a unit, they each have their own strengths and seem to know really well how to use them to support each other.
I have to admit I wasn't around when Stray Kids were a 9 so I don't know much, but from earlier stuff I've watched around the time they became an 8 I think compared to now, someone once pointed out that Chan seemed to always be monitoring the members, but a little distanced from them (around that time he realised Felix didn't sleep-cuddle with him like he did the others). I think he's always taken his responsibility so seriously it took him a while to learn how to relax into being able to interact and play the same as everyone else. Now I love how when Chan is serving food Seungmin will often go to offer Chan a serving first so he doesn't get forgotten, or the dynamic with Lee Know where Lee Know will step up and sort of co-parent a bit when needed. I feel like Changbin also really takes seriously the role of being a good support and influence on the younger members, he seems very self-aware about what areas someone might struggle in, who needs special attention paid to try and encourage their confidence. Chan seems to do the general group management but the others are really good at monitoring each other on performance aspects. Although it did make me laugh slightly when watching Kingdom when they did the Mayfly rap unit with 3racha and it was the first time I think I heard both Han and Changbin be slightly more formal and it was 'Chan-hyung' not 'Channie-hyung'. It was a sweet little detail but it felt like they were slightly on their best behaviour, meanwhile I.N was having a meltdown being told to address Peniel casually in the dance group.

I have been re-watching Red Lights OT8 multiple times before coming to watch your reaction. I was so hyped as the reaction started and I almost cried by the end of it, because of how precious the relationship between Chan and Changbin is and how adorable Changbin is. SKZ is such an emotional roller coaster. I've been DYING all weekend because of Stray Kids concert videos and i haven't even watched the full concert. Like... I feel like I'm dying. My heart has been in my THROAT all weekend. Head is mush. I will not be able to handle in person. It's fine. Say nice things at my funeral, thanks.
The mesh shirts in the Red Lights video get me every time. The Hard Sexy line gets shared a lot... Yeah.
I love the choreo for Surfin'. The whole video is such a happy pill. (I have cicadas in North Eastern US, so, i know exactly what that sounds like IRL!)
Seungmin and Han are like ... My secret bias wreckers. Not my normal wrecker (Felix) but every now and then i just gasp and have to stare.
Changbin and Chan are fighting for my attention almost always so learning that everyone in the group thinks of them as Mom and Dad is friggin not helping. I feel so full of love when I watch them. Like, seriously proud.
I think I'm attracted to them, sure physically and their skills, but they both put so much emphasis on principle and jutdae. I love that they really hold true to what they say but aren't so stuck on themselves either.
Changbin's family vlog melted me. It really informs so much about his personality when you see the way his Noona teases him and his parents teach/speak with him. Really explains how he behaves with the members. He's such a Maknae. 😅 Dwaekki has restorative powers I think.

Lee Know is really serious with the whole "not exposing his body" thing like he's not comfortable with it yet, so he always try to cover himself, if you see even in the pool he pulled on his shirt so it wouldnt stick to his body and shows his bodyline, hence the blanket(?)/towel
and yes other groups has their own greetings, BTS has RM says "Bang" and the others says "Tan" then like "annyeonghaseyo bangtan sonyeondan imnida", twice has "one in a million! annyeonghaseyo blablabla" super junior has "uri syupeo jyuni-oeo" SNSD has "jigeum-eun, sonyeoshidae!" etc.

based on what I had been watching since 2017, bangchan did rely a lot on wjn, he barely came to the dorm as he's always in the studio back then, so he trusted wjn to take care of the younger members at the dorm. i also noticed on skztalker that few months before his leaving, wjn didn't really communicate with the younger members except there's chan between them while the other 7 kids just get along so well. on the day of Double Knot mv release, skz did a unit vlives, it was lix, seungmin, i.n, hyunjin, wjn, at their dorm, and 3racha+lee know at jyp building. i immediately noticed that wjn didn't get along well with the younger ones when lix had to quietly ask permission from wjn to go to the toilet during the vlive. lix asked him with somehow I interpret it as a lil frightened face because I think he won't make such a face if he only had to ask chan or lee know, and other members also suddenly became quiet and tensed waiting for wjn's response. after his leaving, the first thing chan did was post an apology letter on their exclusive vlive channel. the letter was not reposted by any jyp official accs which means it bangchan himself who posted it exclusively on the channel where there were only stays there w/o jype staff knowing (there was no bubble back then). In the letter he apologized and blamed everything on him; for not being able to keep the number 9 and to cause pain to stay and the members. based on his letter, I think chan kind of blamed himself for barely knowing what happened at the dorm and what his members had been going thru during his absence. i think that was also the turning point where chan started to be moooreeee affectionate and clingy with his members, for real, it was different, chan's attention towards each members from before oct 2019 to after oct 2019. also, since then, each member just went bloom!!! they finally started to show more confidence abt their abilities and passion and I am so happy about it. wjn's leaving was indeed triggered a huge shift within the group. chan now trusts lee know a lot to handle the kids if he's not around. while mentally, he relies on changbin so much as they're 24/7 together.
From my observation I think at some point I’m not saying they lied but they acted that the group dynamic was all good and that was for the sake of the group now they’re sincere, they are genuine with each other and you can see honest feelings, so about the question you asked, I think it was hard for all of them at that time because they felt betrayed somehow and they worried about the group not because Chan didn’t find someone to rely on cause Chan said if Felix wasn’t there at some point he wouldn’t be there, he said that Changbin understands him the most and he can put his mind at ease when Lee Know is in charge so my answer to your question whether the former member independency affected Chan cause he was the same age is no

Woo and Chan were quite close (although then all the members were not so close when compared to today) and this can be noticed if you watch their shared videos
I know that a lot of bad things are written about Woojin (still....) but this is much less than good moments with Chan or the guys
if you are interested in their relationship then you you can see the 2 kids room with Woojin and the members
surprisingly they communicated well with I.N and it's noticeable. perhaps Jeongin saw in him a fatherly figure, as in Chan, who knows :)
