I wish... Old JDM cars are unobtainium now with import scammers, price hikes, and just their age making them brittle and in need of constant repair/tinkering (especially the electronics). Parts are becoming more rare and expensive too. I think I'll just stick to the newer modern stuff.

Dude, this series is Top content. At 1st I was like man that Evo is crap compared to your other builds but Im now digging it. Exhaust sounds just right actually and that Top Rank Shizuoka garage is killer. I've driver those mountain roads in Hakone and Shizuoka and thats what makes Japan the best for sports cars. Man, this trip is 🔥..so jealous. Props to your teamup with Masa and Top Rank.
Super Autobacs is quite a neat place and I would suggest any car lover visiting Japan to take a stroll through for the experience. I went there for the first time last weekend and had a great time wandering the aisles for over an hour. I was looking for some paint repair products which they had plenty. I then ordered Recaro seats for my R33 GT-R while I was there as they have a parts counter. It was nice to be able to sit in the seats to try them before buying. If you sit there in the parking lot for a while a lot of cool stuff rolls through. They also sell Rays wheels like was mentioned in the video if you are a Rays wheel enjoyer. I still need to sort out my car before I hit the Hakone Togue so the last video makes me jealous.
Seeing all the 90's nostalgia lately makes me love the thought that i got my CD5 Accord with a JDM H swap and some OG TE's. Man this is sick and so inspiring.

Having had an Evo VIII for years (no longer unfortunately), seeing an Evo V makes me feel not only jealous but also makes me miss the VIII I used to have and makes me want to try and find another one.
Same Same. My Evo 9 wagon came from Japan with those weird Ennepetal Billies too. I swapped them out for Ohlins as the spring rate was crazy. If you want yours to handle seriously you need to install a new RS rear diff and a fancy aftermarket LSD front diff too.
I have a “stock” Evo 8 MR that I bought when I was in Japan. When I had it on the Dyno the tuner also said it seemed spicy for a stock car making 280whp.
Can't quite tell in the video as it's pixelated, but if the boost gauge is anything to go on and assuming that's 1.8 bar, if it's going higher than about 1.3 bar then it has at least got some ECU tuning. Rebuilt turbo is a possibility but probably unlikely as the 16g TDO5 is quite a capable unit. Stock PSI is peak of around 18/19psi (1.3 bar) tapering down to about 16 (1.1 bar), so any higher than that isn't stock - and iirc you can do up to about 25 psi (1.75 bar) comfortably. The EVO 5 was a frighteningly quick car for its time, I really miss mine, stock that thing would take on even a lot of modern sports cars at the lights. Enjoy yours Dut and enjoy taking it through all the Toge, those cars were meant for windy twisty roads. PS. Get the AYC pump checked. Those things are notorious for dying, especially if the car has sat for a while.

Loving the EVO content!! I have a 2015 Lancer. I wanted an Evo but hated that it only had 5 gears. Wish it was a 6 speed!! I love my Lancer and I wish they didn't discontinue it. Now I am regretting not getting Evo when I had the chance. Maybe one day I'll be able to get one.
I'm so pumped! I have all new rear bushings and hardware to do on mine! I need to save up for the front and then do it all at once, but I am getting impatient.

The evo needs those Ohlin's coilovers. That is what they use for rally cars. I think RalliArt and cosworth uses those. My uncle had those on his eagle talon/mitsubishi eclipse rally car that he had coswort UK and team bushar build for him. He used it in scca pro rally, and then he shipped it to the Philippines when he moved to the Philippines. He is a big mitsubishi fanatic. I think all of his ex rally cars were mitsubishi cars.

Maybe get the undercarriage dry ice blasted and rust seal coated? Especially if it's gonna be sitting a lot of the year in Japan.

Seeing the new Japan Evo, has me looking at Evos and Top Rank in the US just added an Evo VI to their inventory.
The foams on those headphones are cheap and easy to replace. Mine did the same thing. The Amazon memory foam ones are super comfortable
With an aggressive compound and buff the paint will come back and it will look like new.
