Im sooo glad that Adam's not like most RUclipsrs that stretch content....Like installing a new turbo on my Evo, ran into some issues....Then finally got the new turbo installed on my evo....then the dyno video....thank you for putting it all in one video man. Ricer miata is the absolute worst as far as stretching content, he will make a video taking a transmission out and then the next day make another video putting it back in.
Collette spoke sense. Evo IX turbo is perfect. I believe IX Evo is the ultimate standard Evo, keeps being proven too. Don't need more than 400bhp in an Evo unless doing straight line runs.

These hybrids these days are sleeper as hell. I made 360 wheel on a billet hybrid td04hl. Has a td05h 18g 6+6 billet wheel and 9 blade turbine vs stock 12 blade. Has a ported 7cm hotside. All in all tiny turbo.. But.. Coldside is a 50mm inducer 70mm exducer and makes about 75whp over stock form. Was a $900 setup that utilizes all stock plumbing and feed/drain. Combined with 100oct and wmi 375cc nozzle on 300psi pump. My 245hp 243ft lbs volvo now makes 350whp and 500 ft lbs on stock internals. For a 23 year old family sedan runs mid 12s in stock motor cant complain.. However i just went td06sl2-20g with 14cm hotside.. Tuner made 439whp on stock 200k motor with this turbo and that was on a 97 non vvt motor. I swapped the 04 b5234t9 vvt motor has longer stroke, windowed block, solid lifters, diff intake valves but same cr and displacement... Bit of volvo knowledge...
surprised you dont ceramic coat the hot parts or at least heat wrap them, would probably help with power loss due to heat soak on track days you’d see some much cooler iats
It’s time Adam to order the one part you are missing to make your evo GREAT . . . . A sequential gearbox, oh and anti lag…. Get one ordered from Quaife :)
Have you guys ever tried the EFR Borgworner turbo's? They spool up even quicker and hold boost! You may find yourself a new favorite turbo! They perform really good

You could try a recirc valve, stops the turbo stalling between gear changes, seriously worth looking into, really changed my car when I changed to one
Or (with some added complexity) switch to an electronic throttle body. All sorts of cool stuff you can do with them, including antilag between shifts.
