i noticed you replaced the fill plug at running temperature before allowing the fluid to stop over flow. is the fill neck designed to overflow hot(expanded) fluid or cold fluid
My genesis randomly revs up from 2nd to 3rd gear and feels rough, sometimes kinda feels like when you dump a clutch. I got a 2.0t automatic 2013. Will transmission fluid change fix this?
@@kjsc00l it is almost a common issue with multiple Genesis models, I have 2015 v6 sedan and it does the same. Dealership suggested to replace the full transmission assembly. Valvoline told me they couldn’t provide service because a part(s) was required as a “one-time” use bolt or something and they didn’t offer that part to replace it. I’ve never heard of that tbh but in any case they told me I needed to goto a transmission shop that is certified for Hyundai or get the bolts myself and bring it back to them so they could perform the maintenance.
I got a shop manual and it states there is a fill hole on the driver side of the transmission it also uses an Allen key to tighten and un tighten. Can I fill it through there?
Hypothetically speaking if my trans filter came with no gasket I would need the gasket and sealer still right? Sorry never done this trying to get everything correct
My 2010 has an overflow plug and a fill and drain plug. The fill plug is under the hood. But u filled it from the drain plug. Is there no fill plug under the hood on this model genesis coupe?
akuma4u pretty sure we have both check behind your o2 sensor under the hood on the left rear of engine... there should be a Allan key bolt lookin thing
@@cstottie5036 i did a drain a refill and put in 3 liters using the fill plug under hood. The overflow plug started dripping and we stopped. Car ran amazing. Faster and everything. Now car doesnt run as fast or smooth and there is a burning smell inside car. I dont know wtf happened. Maybe i overfilled it? I wish i left it as it was. Now i dont know what to do
Think the stream was supposed to cycle out the old remaining fluid at bottom if you did it way after I think you already cycled it through(which shouldent be a bad thing) but I do think you over filled it ... did you drain the 2Liters u added the second time or left More in there than when u started
@@cstottie5036 i didnt drain the second time. I just topped up 2 more liters. So i drained first then added 3 l. Then a week later added 2 more liters.
Mohammed Samayee First I would inspect to see if the vehicle is leaking and low on transmission fluid. A service is most likely not going to fix that problem something has failed. I would recommend having it diagnosed.
Has anyone answered the fill plug final check? I have always heard on other makes that it suppose to come to a drip then plug it back up. NOT while its draining.... Then the trans will be overfilled and YES overfilling is bad. Seems like this guy doesn't answer. Anyone know for sure for Hyundai vehicles maybe its different that's why I'm asking?
I'm pretty sure that is the wrong fill adapter. I think it should be the same threads as the fill plug and with a rubber o ring. I just filled it through the check hole. Thanks for the vid.
dudes doing it the wrong way. when you are filling in it , dont need to have the car on omg really and the filling tool adapter is the wrong one , plus the fluid on 2013 and up is synthetic oil . okay i guess youll learn the hard way ...
All Data says car running in park at temp to check. It doesn't matter if the adapter is wrong as long the fluid gets in the trans. There is also a fill plug on the drivers side above the pan. We have done them both ways and not had a problem.

Is the transmission for Genesis from ZF ?
QuantumRift yes
Hassan alamri yes
@@HowtoAutomotive Yes, what? I'm asking if you have a link to where we can obtain one of those adapter tubes....
Recommended Bolt Torque Specs for this trans pan is 7-8 lb.ft (10-12 N,m / 1.0-1.2kgf.m)
I hit a giant rock and just cracked mine open glad i found this video
Please, where is the LINK for the ADAPTER TUBE???

For real

Easy change but costs $200!!

What automatic transmission oil does it take?

What type of transmission fluid Valvoline Maxlife or Valvoline import multi vehicle for a 2018 g80

My oem intake pipe that connect to the turbo is ripped, think that could effect it?

No. It's a Genesis Coupe that only comes with a 4 or 6 cylinder.
