    Iron Valiant is a fusion between Gardevoir and Gallade, so the beast trio and and sword of justice trio fusions are not unique in that way. I also question if the paradox Pokémon are even from the distant past/future at all. There are lots of clues that seem to hint that they are Pokémon created from imagination. How else would the imagined fusions from the scarlet/violet book become playable? Furthermore, the beast trio was only created "recently" by Ho-Oh; they did not exist in the ancient past. Slither Wing's Occulture entry also mentions how no records of Volcarona exist in the ancient past. The area zero journal entries also have Sada/Turo wishing for a clone of themselves to assist with research, and then suddenly an AI only made possible by the terra crystals and which can only exist in area zero appears, which the next journal entry implies Sada/Turo don't even know the true nature of. Lastly, Heath's partner was a Cyclizar, and one of the entries in the scarlet/violet book recants a mysterious episode of amnesia he experienced, where he encountered an unknown being and scribbled down a bunch of hexagons. It's very possible that Koraidon and Miraidon are figments from his imagination as well, based on his partner Pokémon, which were created similarly to the paradox Pokémon by the third legendary.

      This theory is only proven true if those imagined Pokemon become playable. Because unlike the Paradox mon that have perfectly reasonable explanations for their existence, those two fusions are the only one clearly stated to be from the artist's imagination. And before you type what dataminers found, need I remind you of the stuff dataminers found that were never implemented not only in Pokemon but across many games. Gamefreak could easily not put them in and go with something else.

    I am convinced that Glimmora is related to the spherical, hexagonally-plated 3rd legend, possibly in the same way that Koraidon and Miraidon are related to Cyclizar. Besides being a spherical, glowing crystal-like pokemon (reminiscent of terastallization both in concept and potentially in the latter's etymology) who can open its body up to become flatter, it is the only pokemon who greets you in the postgame quest to Area Zero who is not explicitly a paradox pokemon, it is the ace pokemon of the region champion, and Geeta even seems to be designed to resemble one. For me, there are too many connections there to not think that Glimmora has an intrinsic relation to the tera phenomenon.

    • @seanbarton4940
      @seanbarton4940 Год назад +11

      Honestly agree, but as I was winding down the Area Zero mission, I was really convinced that Geetas connection with the Glimmora was going to come into play with the time machine stuff. I played Violet. Since the first time I saw Geeta I was convinced she was connected to the paradox Pokemon and the time machine because she is so thoroughly unnatural looking compared to everyone else in Paldea. • @starcatcher9699
    @starcatcher9699 Год назад +102

    I find a lot of things about Area Zero odd. Currently the two most popular theories regarding our Disk Friend is that it has time travel based powers or it has imagination/wish based powers. If it can effect the area around it, sending out Pokemon of different times, that would explain the herba mystica and the paradox Pokemon being discovered so long ago.
    But, imagination is also possible. The Pokemon seem like something someone made up, possibly based on those strange descriptions in the other books. If I recall, the king sent people into Area Zero, regardless of the danger. Maybe they didn't die but rather they didn't want to go back to their king, they wished that something would keep them from going back to him. Thus, Disk Friend made a paradise from whence they never returned. Heath wanted to find something so the Pokemon gave him a Paradox Pokemon, Herba Mystica, and then eventually revealed itself to him. Sada/Turo wanted funding for their research and a world full of future/past Pokemon, so it gave them Terrastel energy and spat out Paradox Pokemon via the time machine. Ah, but that then begs the question, where did Sada/Turo go if not the future/past.
    I'm also curious about the dream Heath had. He got separated from his team and mentioned that he spoke to someone before writing down the symbol, which he doesn't remember doing. Of course, this is all pure conjecture. We simply don't know enough. I personally hope it's an imagination based Pokemon as I don't want another time based one but it could just be time based.

    • @FlareBlitzBanana
      @FlareBlitzBanana Год назад +11

      Something super interesting to be is that all the crystals in area zero have reflective properties, like a mirror. Even more interesting, when you enter a tera raid battle, the Pokémon you’re after is reflected in the crystallized walls. Perhaps this Pokémon can create Pokémon reflected by peoples desires, such as the desire to learn about the ancient past or future? Kind of a shot in the dark but I’d expect some sort of “be careful what you wish for” moral to be involved. In fact it already is, since the professor discovering the second legendary is what got them killed.

    There’s also the interesting geoglyph on the ground of the cave that you find Roaring Moon in. It’s the same symbol on the ground of the first station you go to before you go into area 0 for the first time. Surely that was there before Sada/Turo established their stations. Also, the Portuguese were a big trading force in Japan in the 16th century, and did a lot of commerce in western Honshu (basically, Johto). They would also hit China on the way back, which explains the Chinese names of the ruinous Pokémon.

    Hi! I’ve been keeping up with everything Scarlet & Violet and just wanted to pop in and add a few more things!!
    - the ruinous Pokémon are based off of the four perils in Chinese mythology and it’s interesting to note that their names are the same in Mandarin instead of localised*
    - according to raifort’s history classes, they came to paldea via a merchant from the east who sold them to the king
    - people have been speculating that these things could hint to an upcoming Chinese region? I also noticed a number of Chinese dishes featured in the game’s restaurants myself (mapo tofu, hot and sour soup, etc)
    * I made a video on my channel that explains a bit on how to pronounce their names and while the names are p much the same for three of them (Jian Bao ➡️ Chien-Pao, Jian Wo ➡️ Wo-Chien, Ding Lu ➡️ Ting Lu) Chi-Yu is actually Yu Yu in Mandarin so it may come from “Chi You” a Chinese deity descended from the flames
    Otherwise the names are pretty literal translations as to what they are
    Jian Bao: Sword leopard
    Jian Wo: Bamboo slip snail
    Ding Lu: Cauldron deer
    Yu Yu: Jade fish
    I was really excited to see all this subtle cultural stuff in the game so sorry for the super long comment 😂 Hope this was a fun piece of trivia!

    I think there is a possibility that the "disk pokemon" is the time machine itself, and that the time machine, once created, existed at all points in time and so paradox pokemon came from it in all times, which is how Heath's team found them in area zero. The inside of the time machine is a bright, shining crystal that appears as a series of interlaced hexagons. Maybe at some point Heath was brought into the time machine, and that is what his episode in the violet/scarlet book details. Just a theory. Terastralization could just be a phenomenon of the crystals, and not of a pokemon in particular, unlike Dynamaxing was with Eternatus. I wonder if it somehow has a natural ability to pull things from different points of time, since I don’t know how the Area Zero expiation team could have seen the Paradox Pokémon down there way before the Professor built the time machine. Either that, or maybe it can somehow manifest things from people’s imaginations into reality…?
    Also, like with every Pokémon game, one of the biggest questions I have is just who the heck is littering every region with various items? Are they being carelessly dropped by other trainers, or are they maybe planted by the Pokémon League for trainers to find?

    I've heard that the Treasures of Ruin are inspired by a particular Chinese myth, that places them as the opposite of the genie trio of Unova (+Hisui).
    This, paired with a bunch of respect for Unovan Pokémon (including the Imagined Pokémon) , and the very recent reveal of Enamorus, makes me suspect we may see a Unovan remake that connects with Paldea.
    The imagined Legendary Beast fusion also makes me wonder about a Johto remake. I hypothesize we will be getting a Pokémon Legends Celebi game, and an open world updated remake of Unova some time soon. Maybe one of these will involve time travel to the future!

They give us clues in some of the dex entries stating that they resemble something mentioned in a sci-fi magazine. there have been theories going around that the paradox pokemon are in fact, not from the past/future. Instead they are created from imagination.
    All these paradox forms seem to have been known within old folktales long before turo or sada seemingly took them from the future. I think what is happenings is that this disk pokemon is capable of manifesting the paradox forms out of peoples imagination and that could be the reason heath saw these pokemon 200 yers before they were taken from the future.

    • @Dante02d12
      @Dante02d12 Год назад

      It would make more sense, honestly. A paradox is, by definition, something that can't exist but does. Future forms and past forms do exist, and the possibility of Time Machines means their presence in present time isn't a paradox at all.
      The Legendary "Imagination God" then turned the Professor's dreams into reality, just like in the movie 3. And since the Professor's dream is to live with Pokemons from the Past or the Future, Pokemons from different times appeared.
      It all makes sense. But I don't think this will turn out this way. The way I see it, Game Freak had _originally_ planned for Paradoxes to come from imagination, but changed their plans at the last minute and came up with the idea of Time Travel. I mean, let's be real, a game that is barely even begun (and clearly unfinished) has likely had a terrible development.
      Who knows though, maybe the DLCs will prove me wrong.

    so one big thing for me when viewing these games as a whole is that i think the time travel elements are a red herring - the points that lead me to this conclusion are: 1) Paradox Pokémon being sighted 200 years before the time machine was allegedly built.
    2) That every Paradox Pokémon lines up with some obviously made up pulp nonsense in sci-fi magazines you find in the library.
    3) The AI Professor can't leave the crater and has to remain close to the crystals at the bottom of the crater to continue functioning.
    3-b) The real Professor being able to make the AI Professor in the first place. Or a time machine for that matter (with nary a reference or nod to the two Pokémon we know that can manipulate time).
    3-c) The real Professor's motivations for doing what they did.
    4) The presence of the imaginary Pokémon in the book, obviously setting up that they're going to appear later.
    5) That the Disk Pokémon has its info redacted every time it gets brought up, in both the book (Arven mentions post-game that the book is blurred out in the exact same way in every single copy) and the Professor's Journals.
    5-b) Heath details a dream he has scattered memory of and includes a page full of stuff he apparently wrote that he doesn't understand.
    6) The Disk Pokémon is apparently the source of Terastallization, a phenomena which can change a Pokémon to any type.
    To me, all these little details point to this Disk Pokémon being some kind of reality warper/wish fulfilment type. Heath and the research team wanted to see strange Pokémon, it made strange Pokémon for them to find. The Professor was obsessed with ancient/futuristic Pokémon, dedicated their lives to finding them, and use the crystals in the crater to apparently achieve that, and then when they need another pair of hands that understands their vision of paradise, and build an AI and house it in an almost indistinguishably human-like chassis, once again with the help of the crystals. They have the impossible idea then somehow achieve it using elements derived from this unknown Pokémon (and Terastallization being a literal crystallization of that - 'wouldn't it be cool if X Pokémon was Y type?').
    All information on this Pokémon is obscured because it doesn't want to be found.
    When this Paradox Beast/Sword appears that'll be the clincher that time travel wasn't what was really going on and we're dealing with something else entirely. Something that has had eyes everywhere this entire game, in the crown every Terastallized Pokémon wears.

    What I'd really like for DLC content is to actually explore the behavior and habitats of the Paradox Pokemon. Their Pokedex entries state almost nothing about them, other than they are cryptids that have been spotted in the past. And it would be cool to make them breedable, as well as introduce what their pre-evolutions looked like in the past. I'm curious what Foongus, Bagon, Shelgon, Igglybuff, Larvesta, Magnemite, and Phanphy looked like in the distant past. It might even be cool to see a Flutter Mane evolution with Mismagius traits, and same thing goes for a Scream Tail evolution.
    Personally, I would like DLC to allow us to explore the past and future versions of Paldea (and for the record, I don't care if it takes 2-3 years to complete, because that would be awesome!). While some of the entries are fun (Iron Jugulis is speculated as being the offspring of a Hydreigon that fell in love with a robot), it'd be fun to actually gather real data on them.

    These four Legendaey Pokémon is basically a counterpart of the Alola Guardians, they all has a signature move that cut the enemy HP at 50% but one is Fairy and the other Dark, and if you see carefully:
    Fairy/Eletric < Dark/Ground
    Fairy/Grass < Dark/Ice
    Fairy/Water < Dark/Grass
    Fairy/Psychic < Dark/Fire

      One problem though, they're supposed to be somewhat based on the four perils, the counterparts to the four cardinal directions. And the ones who represent the four cardinal directions are Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus and Enamorus.

    I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, and I’m not sure if this is a silly coincidence but the Scarlet/Violet Book, as they mentioned: the Disc Pokémon’s shell overlaps with hexagonal layers. Other than having a possible connection w/ Zygarde, has anyone noticed that our homeroom teacher Jacq, if I’m not mistaken, has hexagonal glasses? I don’t want to get into to much detail but I believe he mentioned that he was also a researcher alongside Clavell. He possibly also worked alongside Sada/Turo just how Clavell did. He therefore could’ve acquired the books & learned more about the Disc Pokémon, but who knows, I guess I’m just writing bs. I would find it hysterical if he was actually evil behind closed doors, and he never mentioned anything whatsoever that would make us suspect him for being evil.
    Also, seeing that photo of Heath, he had a slight resemblance to Clavell, imo.

    I think the potential idea of the combined pokemon is continent shifting, either from a Regi or natural movement Unova and Kanto crashing into another or having some form of combined game.

    The legendary quarter/treasures of ruin is answered in the game. Raifort tells you the story. A merchant from the East sells the treasures to the Paldean king. That night the treasures come to life and start destroying the kingdom. They are then locked away. It’s clear the East region is meant to be China/Pokémon worlds version of China

    I feel like that mysterious pokemon is related to the old king of paldea. It might even be the king himself, a result of coming in contact with whatever made the crater in the first place. It's got a crown, even. It's so kingly, the terrastalization it causes even gives OTHER things crowns.

    When we look at Heath in one of his pictures, he has a Cyclizard but hear out my theory: what if Heath was in the expedition team and died in area zero to a Pokemon and the rest of the expedition
    Team ran away with the Information without telling everything. And Heaths Cyclizard was left behind with Heath in a rush for all these ages until it became the Koraidon/Miraidon of the area zero and attacked the Protagonist,Nemona,Arven and Penny cause that reminded the Koraidon/Miraidon of his owners death and the expedition team that forgot it for all these ages.

    Just a theory of mine: The third legendary, the entity behind the crystals, is from beyond the stars. A being that similar to Deoxys (which also is often depicted with triangles) can travel between planets in a sort of hibernation form. In this form it crashed into a prehistoric paldea thereby creating the crater of Area 0.

    I believe the treasures of ruin are Asian themed to hint to a China based region that will come later down the line maybe gen 10 or 11
    As for why China themed Pokémon would be in a Spain based region could refer to the royal families of Spain collecting items and animal that may be common in their country of origin but virtually unheard of in Spain making them a grand and valuable treasure

    Couldn't paradox Pokémon appearing in the past be an attempt by AI to send some of them back? Just because they can pull things from the past/future, doesn't mean you can't send them back as well. That would mean it's entirely possible the paradox Pokémon still appeared through time travel to Heath and his team, although sent back at the wrong time. In a weird way would mean the professor's eventual goal to investigate the mysteries of area zero, could've been created by their own future ai after their death, in some sort of loop.

    Ive felt that these paradox pokemon are what they are because they arent originally from the Past/Future, but current pokemon caught into whatever time dilation of the location and having to adapt into those environments, thus why they are paradoxes.

    I don’t remember where I read this or which character told me this in the game but there is a story about the King and it goes as follows;
    [START]
    A King was in search of only the rarest most valuable of treasures. A mysterious traveling merchant never before seen in the kingdom and not one of the usual merchants traveling through comes to the kingdom claiming to have brought 4 invaluable treasures to the Kingdom having heard of the Kings obsession with rare and valuable items. The King takes a look at the items and instantly sees their value and pays an unthinkable amount to buy them from the mysterious merchant. The four treasures were an ancient sword, a bowl, tablets with writing on them, and rare beads. But when the King brought them into his kingdom the “treasures” turned out to actually be extremely powerful Pokémon. Has he been tricked? Did the merchant know? The 4 ruinous Pokémon completely ravaged and destroy the kingdom destroying everything in sight. Some rare trainers of Pokémon tried to stop them but they were too strong. They destroyed and destroyed until there was nothing left of the once prominent kingdom except a few scattered what is now ruins. It is not known who the mysterious merchant was or if he knew that the treasures were Pokémon or if he knew exactly what he was doing and purposefully brought the downfall of the kingdom or to what end. Was he a spy from another waring region of Paldea or simply an innocent merchant. Unfortunately we will never know. [END.]
    I tried to write as best I remember it. All this was said in the actual game. I didn’t make any of that up.
    Ps. Regarding the story, I completely believe that this “merchant” from 2,000 years ago has got to be none other than Volo!

    My theory regarding the "Disk Pokemon" is that it is the base crown piece that Terra Jewels are perched on.
    Consider the Terra Orb. It is shaped similarly to a pokeball. You toss the Terra Orb onto your pokemon to terrastalize it, almost as if sending out another "pokemon".
    Consider the Terra Jewel: it shines brightly no matter the time of day, and no matter the typing, the jewel always has a sort of crown or tiara base, and this base always has what looks like angry eyes on its hexagonal piece.
    Therefore, what if, to terrastalize a pokemon, you must apply a sort of parasitic creature: the mysterious "Disk Pokemon"?
