Richard Ong : Yes China's system works very well, but only well for some. The white-paper movement showed, many people do not want the China's one-party-forever system. Also, there are hundreds of dissidents still in jail for wanting the Western system. Do they matter?

Democracy can be cruel without the socialism part. Socialism is very important for a fair, free society. Socialism provides the consultation of the people's voice.
I really enjoyed watching this. It’s great to see the structure of China’s democracy front and center. I personally think this is a much better system build on merit and constant feedback. Government should be proactive like this 👍🇨🇳

Interestingly enough, taking into consideration that the electoral college(which is an unelected group of bureaucrats appointed for the job by their respective states) is the the group which аppoints the presidеnt in the U$, the Сhinese people actually have more direct electoral power than the U$ citizens. Shhh, just don't tell that to the Americans since it will make them very angry. They have that ability to immediately oppose facts when they're not working in their favor.
Yes, the people of the world don't know that USA citizens doesn't vote directly for president, it is done by the electoral college. Only 270 votes determine who wins the presidency out of 330 million people. Each state has a certain number of delegate votes, that is why the bigger states matter most in the Midwest and south, most are already predetermined before the election takes place.
Proletariat Democracy is superior to liberal democracy. It’s been shown to be more inclusive, grassroots, and less corruptible.
As far as national leader is concerned, the Chinese people have no electoral power at all. By electoral, it means multiple candidates competing. Did anybody compete with chairman Xi?

Difference from China to USA is China has population density approx 4.5 great than USA. It is able to be more civilised without firing any weapons of mass destruction, fill its peoples needs, help build bridges of peace and friendship, grow and realise its green potential....look at its green and regreening projects, create opportunities for its belt and road partners, make humanity realise the impact we are having and attempt to create a peaceful world.
It is good to have competion maybe we in the west can accept and learn something from China.

I live in the USA where we have elected politicians that ignore us. I'd rather have an unelected government that listens to me and gives me what I want.
How could your wish come true since any unelected government does not listen to you and does not give you what you want? All unelected governments on the other hand want you listen to them and give everything to them.

@@oliveweir8508: Yes, it is possible. Yet, how do we want the un-elected politicians to consult us? Maybe the worse things will happen to us if we ask the un-elected politicians to consult us. The unelected politicians are more likely to hurt us if we ask.
But, technically,in China you elect the government,just not directly.

I'm awed by how great the Chinese government is, it's utterly astounding. I have a small book collection of books on China including the three parts of "Governance of China" by the great Xi Jinping. I plan on reading all of it soon, as I'm a disabled guy who's getting over being too sick to operate in public and with that I have much discretionary time because I'm taken care of by the state of Minnesota, which, unlike many states which have almost no services, is a moral and good one, our people are known as being "Minnesota nice", which is pretty great, it's very nice to everyone, especially the helpless. Americans in general are furious about their states and their governments' lack of taking care of the unfortunate, but in a supposedly democratic society they still have no way of changing their government.
Our government doesn't even consult us, they just make promises then take bribes and don't do anything about the severe poverty present in half of most cities and rural areas like West Virginia. We need change, and China and Singapore are good models and are clearly are superior to ours.

Whether you call it democracy or not, it works - which means that the system has consent. China has never been so prosperous, ever. The prosperity is widespread. It includes all ethnic groups. It includes nearly full employment. It includes the right to, and delivery of, housing, food, education, transportation (the awesome trains, for instance), every kind of infrastructure, safety, artistic endeavors and business opportunities - AND mechanisms for citizen oversight of government and in-put into policy. No question that the Communist Party rules the country but, by seeking consent, those leaders avoid...oh...vast homelessness, unsafe streets, civil unrest, riots, hopeless youth, despairing elderly, bitter social and political divisions, medical bankruptcy, student bankruptcy, dictation by banksters and corporate gangsters....all of the ills of what we call democracy in the USA.
Our ignorance of how the Chinese people make decisions is our problem, not theirs. They seem industrious, prosperous and happy. Are we?
