Loved watching this and all your thoughts on what is happening with the mini basses right now and it sounds like you have found your soul with the new JB and flats. I ended up putting other flats on mine but it is so good to know the Kalas will fit this too. great video Alex and congrats on your new bass 🤍🖤
I also started with guitar as a kid and teen, eventually moving to bass guitar and uke. Love the new Flight with the Kala Flats . . . I am having a custom 23.5 solid body/two pickup built . . .will share with you when it is finished (also will have Kala Flats)
Awesome Video! Thanks for the String comparison.. I am a JB player - primarily Flats - including the LaBellas.. I am traveling quite often and love to take a Bass with me, that I do with a Höfner Shorty - great little player for Travel, however, the body of the JB seems a better fit for me. Will definetly compare with the current setup.. Thanks a lot! :)
Also check out the Fanner Pee Wee. Since I got the Flight, I have come across those and been really impressed with the playability. Body is JB but even smaller.
Is fret buzz common with these? I just got one and it's so irritating! I've set it up as best as i can but the E string still rattles a bit. Will changing the strings help?
So, I have two questions. First, how does it compare with the Magic Fluke bass? That is my go to at the mo and I’d quite like something to swap around with, but don’t want one to feel inferior to the other? Question 2 might be a silly one, what is the difference between the JB and the P? Thanks
The Magic Fluke is good but the piezo sound is very different to magnetic pickups. The P bass headstock is a different shape, body is lighter too. The J Bass has an extra pickup and more controls as well as a 4 in line headstock. It's heavier to hold

@@UkesWithAlex Thanks a lot for the hint - looking at it now! :)

Yes definitely. The factory strings are very light, that's your problem.
It's prettier than the Kala (specially the headstock) but my heart wants a fretless with flats on ....😂

@@UkesWithAlex thank you. I’ve ordered a J bass 😀
I'd love to know the weight if possible. Please and thanks!
Average 2600g
@@UkesWithAlex That's really helpful, thanks! 👍👍👍
I use flats on my Hofner violin bass but on that bass there's not a whole lot of difference. Both better that the Flight strings.
Sound is ... missing.
Unsubscribed for the crude language at the beginning
(Thank you for making this video)
It's like you read the message from my Dad calling me unprofessional for swearing 😅
@@UkesWithAlex I feel you and I support you 😘
